Looks great as always Blynx.I love the way you organize your pics and comments etc.Straight to the good stuff and easy to follow.
I have a question about your ventilation. Is there still the Dayton blower above the lights and then five 1 1/2" passive vents on the floor? How many cfms is your blower? I'm thinking of connecting 2-3 boxes with a 4" inline 210 cfms?
Also have you experimented with different watt bulbs and how did you come to find the 23w to be ideal? Thx .. peace BL

Thanks Buddle!

Yes the 1sq ft cab is still running off the dayton blower, but i'm not sure how many cfm it is cuz it was a recycled old blower. It's a lot more powerful than a 4" inline fan.

I think you would need probably at least one 4" inline per box and wouldn't try running multiplel boxes off a single 4" inline (especially if you are talking the cheap 4" inlines from homedepot/lowes).

I originally tried 14w in the small area and they just weren't bright enough.

IMO 42w aren't quite as efficient as multiple 23/26w cfls. 42w put off a lot more heat and they are physically larger, both of which need to be taken in consideration when building a micro cab.

2 x 23w is only 4 watts more than a 42w cfl, but you get two points of light. You can also get the plants closer to the 23/26w than you can 42w bulbs.

It varies depending on cab/grow.

If I'm using a new soil mix (promix/ewc/perlite at ratio 3:1:1), then I will mix up a liquid lunch of guanos/ej bloom,grow,catalyst/old age bloom and maybe some kelp and feed it to them a couple times during the grow.

If I'm re-using soil, then I remove the excess soil from the rootball and run it through a 1/2" hardware cloth screen, then pitch the main root mass. This breaks up some of the roots into small pieces adding organic matter back to the soil. Lately I've been adding back just bonemeal and biotone. Then I moisten and turn the soil every couple days, then use when needed. Then when running plants in this mix, I only feed them water.

More picture less explainy, Im sorry but these other porn sites explain too much as well,

Everything OK? I love coming back here and looking at your updates.

Yep, just been slacking. Didn't realize I was so far behind in updates.

Here's the 1sq ft cab on day 0 of flower (after 6 days veg time)

During the first week of flowering I had to supercrop some of the plants. I didn't take pictures of it, but you can see it in last weeks update below.

They're still growing and stretching a lot. I'm hoping it will stop in the next week.

The next round in the cfl scrog cab is underway. This round I will be growing some Williamsburg Haze. Williamsburg Haze was some from some seeds found in a bag of hazy bud bought in Williamsburg NY. The person grew out some seeds, made F2s and I was gifted some of those F2s. I started one and ended up with a female.

Here's a clone of her that was forgotten and vegged a couple months in a 6" container.

I transplanted her to a large Goldfish box and stuck her in the cfl scrog cab.

Originally I had planned on letting the Williamsburg Haze grow across the screen and then I would flip the lights. After almost 3 weeks of veg, the plant still wasn't really filling up the screen anymore, so I repositioned it to the center of the screen and then flipped the lights to 12/12.

I'm done using my 11" x 11" cfl cab to veg some test plants, so I started another round in it.

This round will be Casey Jones.

I had a Casey Jones that was growing in a 3" pot for 9 weeks (since New Years Eve). A couple weeks ago I topped the plant.

Here she is transplanted to the container I've been using in this cfl cab.

Day 00 Veg

Since the plant was so old I decided to veg it for a week before flipping the lights to 12/12.

Here she is after a week of veg, or day 0 of flower.

I noticed the Casey Jones in the 11" x 11" cfl cab was throwing one branch a lot taller than the rest. I decided to train that branch down so the canopy was even.

I used 2 small pieces of wire to do the training.
