yeah its vital to get over sized scrubber and ventilation systems, last thing you want is slight weather changes causing it to no longer keep up. with a dimmed ventilator you air passes slower then it could, giving it more time in the scrubber to get neutralized. of course it's also vital to replace them in a timely manner. always get the new one in before disconnecting the old one obviously.

:kos:

O M F G .. this is seriously fucked up, im sorry you're in such deep trouble bro..

just damn true!

thats because you use normal plastic bags! dont do this! there are special double layered plastic bags, silver on the outside and white on the inside .. when you put alot stinky nugs into it and seal it with a clothes iron, no smell leaves it even after days! stay safe! :)

hey do you have a link or brand name for those bags?

...Probably just trying to run you out of there as to not expose them possibly.

Same thing crossed my mind.

The neighbor was thinking when he brought over a joint. But shiners and growers invented the shallow grave. I surprised he felt so comfortable as to tell others that admitted as much to the op. Sounds like young or dumb ass or both.

That's why I'd be at odds to do practically the same thing with the other neighbor. I'm not sure I'd even attempt an anonymous note. Would depend on who it is.

I'd be careful with friendly "anonymous notes" to neighbors. I get where you're coming from, but who do you think they will look to when they get robbed or popped?

Very sorry to hear this kind of stuff, DennisP74. That is seriously FUBAR. Neighbors that smoke (well, at least the hubby) AND are going to rat you out? That is really shit.

(Aside: If I were your neighbor and smelled your grow, I would let you know, and maybe loan you my spare kit to kill the smell. That's what's called "being neighborly". And I Always keep spare kit, as a matter of security -- AC filter, Ona Pro Gel, AND a kick-ass CD ozone generator. You can't have enough, just in case -- cheap "freedom" insurance, if you ask me.)

You need to shift your gear, pronto. And it sounds like it's time to consider moving, as well. Even in a MMJ State, and having your MMJ paperwork in order, any involvement of LEO is unwelcome. You have all the worse luck, drawing shitty neighbors like that.

Good luck, keep safe, and hopefully you will have only a little lesson to learn from this.

It's either anonymous or it isn't. I wouldn't get involved if the risk assessment says no.

It's one thing to help a grower in a pickle. I know an outdoor grower that could really use some good genetics and a grow tip or thirty. But I don't know him very well and wouldn't bet on his 5th amendment abilities.

i have a neighbor i dont know but i can smell it as i drive past his place. i feel like leaving a note or something to let him know. maybe he cant smell or something but it is more obvious than a neon sign

I would leave a note, anonymously, as a good neighbor. I certainly wouldn't walk up with a couple of beers and a doobie sparked, and knock on their door. That could create some unnecessary drama. :tiphat:

Sounds to me like he was trying to get you to buy their silence, extortion, blackmail. Scumbags tried this stuff with me before, I let them know what good fertilizer they will make to the forest.

Trimming my front yard hedges with a 20" machete makes me very believable. :D
If scumbags want to play with your survival instincts then turnabout is fair play.

I respectfully disagree, only because it is difficult to ascertain how anonymous a tip like that would truly be without knowing all aspects of the situation, which you really can't with something like that. Example: hidden security cameras, watchful neighbors who are friends of your neighbor, etc.

Hell, I don't even grow anything but veggies at my house, but I could check the license plate and face of anyone who drives on my street if I ever felt the need...but nobody will ever know that the camera's there. :tiphat:

edit- I do, however, completely agree with the last two lines of your post. :tiphat:

Sounds to me like you are one of the folks who look for trouble and then lament having to retaliate when it comes to your doorstep...just an observation.

This story is bizarre ! Why is he saying 'my wife can smell it' instead of we can smell it? Why does the OP have a friendly smoke with the wanker after he's been told that his wife has, (past tense) already called the cops ? Older I get, the less anything makes sense.

Count your blessings O.P.
Things could be way worse,I know that doesn't help but think about it.
He didn't have to come over and tell you shit. You might have gotten busted...
Glad your sorta safe, wish it was better for you

there's more to this than either the OP is telling, or that the OP knows. 2 plus 2 doesn't equal 4 with this situation.

Sorry about your situation bro and yes this is truly fucked up too. But shit at least you've had prior successful harvests. You have to remember that though to us this is a great hobby and sometimes WE ALL FORGET that what we do is illegal in most of the world. Nonetheless thank you for the heads up. My scrubber is about 4 to 5 months old and I'm going to replace it just for security :). Good luck brother.

With what? I didn't advocate either side, I pointed out aspects of each.

We could write a book of cautions or we could cover it with "risk assessment", already done that.

Sounds to me like you are one of the folks who look for trouble and then lament having to retaliate when it comes to your doorstep...just an observation.
And you sound like someone who never experience having the tables turned on you.

OK so it was we can smell it. And I thought it was a friendly smoke and beer with the new neighbor then I was blasted with the "my wife is going to call" man read the post

I do wish to thank the OP for starting this thread. Just got done going through my closet and checking for anything that could get someone's nose to twitch.
OP....I would get the freak outta Dodge ASAP. Something about this person(s) says it's not over. I would get EVERYTHING outta the crib NOW if you haven't already. And that means everything....magazines or books on growing, scales, drying equipment, etc. Not just plants/soil.

Call me paranoid but I don't even answer the door if I know ya if you haven't called first. Damn girl scouts came knocking on the door last night after 9PM. I was tempted to break my rule for some of those cookies, but I held back....

There's nothing you can do that's right now except move somewhere that's more private than what you've got. Have you checked to see if you've got a shared attic space or even shared vents?

Sorry for your troubles. Sounds like really weird people next door.

Thanks for posting, Dennis. Confirms my design decision to include ozone in a plenum after my carbon filter.

I simply know what these type of people are capable of and I'll do what it takes to protect myself when they come to me looking for trouble. I'm a peaceful man but when scumbags prey on the weak I stand up for the weak. :tiphat:

To the op, did he say it with a smile or like he was apologizing? That would tip me off to their intentions. If I were you I'd move, because this big mouth could bring you down along with themselves. Best of luck.
