it doesnt make sense,you could just tell'em your not making anythin and its at cost to you,but this seems like another version of the tax stamp,claim your taxes and get put in jail..... dont and get put in jail..... your choice...another prerk of half leaglization.

Ask any lawyer, when you are standing in front of a Judge for sentencing cuz somebody ratted you out. You're lawyer being able to say "and your Honour my client has paid his taxes here are the receipts... you'll have a much reduced sentence as in as leinient as the system will allow.
as well the dispensary wants to be able to say to the Judge, we work with law abiding citizens. it is good for everybody if shit hits the fan...

I don't understand your reasoning here. In the case of an audit, they will ask for receipts and proof of transaction history.
In the case of a raid, they have documented proof that you made money selling federally illegal drugs, unless you want to tell them about your sweet corn field.
The state of Michigan wasn't what was going to be after you anyway, and the LLC does absolutely nothing to minimize federal prosecution; indeed, it exposes you further for the aforementioned reasons.
What am I missing?

The judge will laugh, probably hard. Then he will say "so counsel, your argument for leniency is based upon the reiteration of your client's paper trail detailing his highly illegal drug dealing activities?"
"...But see your honor, he's a really nice guy...he meant well, he paid his taxes, see! He just didn't know, is all..."
Judge laughs harder, then states that your ignorance of the law is not an excuse in my courtroom. He will then detail how bad the economy is, and how everyone is suffering, while you made 50 grand a year on the side selling drugs in violation of federal law.
You will then spend a half decade, minimum, thinking about how you should have just gotten a safe and kept it at your mothers house or something.

It's an impossible situation.
Don't pay taxes on it, buy a house with hard-earned grow-related dollars, get busted for sure on either laundering/tax evasion.
Do pay your taxes, and confess to the federal government that you are breaking federal law by selling narcotics.

I would not do a 1099, or pay taxes on MMJ. income, I would use the income that would go to taxes to help Normal & grease the politicians to get MMJ. legal federally! F**K this semi-legal BULLSH*T!

non profit still includes the cost of overhead, including and not limited to the payment of employees, and ways for them to work I.E. automotive, moving expenses, a non profit is a joke, as all are MAJOR PROFIT. well majority.

I see a whole heap of people paying taxes on it I just cant bring myself to. I would hate to think me giving the government a chunk of my profits helped fund the D.E.A.. The key is living under the radar. Cheap house, car under 10k, and your good. Money belongs in safes not banks.
You dont pay taxes at your local pharmacy, why the hell would you pay taxes on your marijuana medication. Oh wait, because people feel to many are taking advantage of the system? Well dont rape my wallet, create a system to fix it, and get the motions rolling. i sure hope to see a full legalization some day, so they can respect the medical aspect of it more, and be willing to have open ears to scientific studies, and educational pieces. Personally I'm a big supporter of the DEA. They take down the street dealers, get the regs of the street... REALLY good for business. Money most certainly does not belong in a safe. Money held in a safe is losing value. You need to put that money to work for you, and if you have to pay a % in tax to legitimize it, and make it start growing, I say do it.
That being said... Redd1, I "donate" overages to People's Choice in Ann Arbor, and they have never documented anything. I know it's a drive, but worth it imo... I tell them $300 a zip, and I don't budge. They want to charge $35 a gram and other stupid prices, they can afford $300 a zip... CASH.
However, that being said... PK and PTB know what's up. If you're making enough money that you can't spend it on your living expenses, and you want to put it in the bank... You should form a LLC and pay taxes. Paying taxes is the only thing that's going to protect/legitimize us in the end. They're doing it in Cali and Colorado... I don't know where else... However, once the gvmt tastes that money, they'll want more. They won't shut us down.
Just make sure you never mention MARIJUANA anywhere on your tax forms... However like PK and PTB said, you can open up an agricultural LLC.
idk what you know about real estate... but lots of houses can be bought with cash... Remodel them with cash... Flip them for legit money...
