uk outdoor prep thread?

anyone going to be prepping their spot soon? anyone want to share tips?

this will be my first outdoor grow and ive decided to go with autos,

ive been thinking about lifting square turf slabs, prepping the soil where i turfed, then cut a hole in the middle of my turf slab then putting the plant into there, i heard that the choppers look for over turned soil so im going to make the base of the plants look very natural,

shall i use a dark green cage around my plants? im thinking id only need one about a ft tall with maybe a foot and a half diameter,

how shall i prep my soil, i know in the uk we can have some bad rain but shall i use perlite and vacumulite? i already know what soil ill be using since ive tried and tested it before with very good results,

hope some people can help me out and others, cheers

Tip: Get any fresh manure into holes now and the frost in new year will help break it down ready for planting in May.

Tip 2: You can use leaf-mulch to cover the exposed plot until planting.

N.B. The copper-chopper doesn't fly around looking for shallow-graves or buried treasure man.. lol

Tip 3: Support cages are likely to attract the unwanted presence of gamekeepers and poachers to guerrilla growing in the UK.

3b. So will exposed perlite so always add a top layer of natural soil.

N.B. Save the canes, cages and supports for the back yard!

It is a good Idea to have acsessible water near grow plots in multiple spots so look for good sites that are not view of anything and well away from humanity you are best to look a year in advanced to see what the sun is like in that area but to go to these places regular is not an option so get prep done in 1 or 2 planned trips.

holes dug and filled with compost, waterlines put in, stash/ hide made for a few essentials (not good to carry a backpack with fertilizer) you never know. You can mabe take a tarpaulin to a good site in advance.. but if you ever get caught act as if you just stumble accross a plot with no growing parifonalia you could be concidered innocent..
dont wear bright or flashy fassion cloathing, and leave the site to mature and only come back once to check before planting out well hardend clones off a relyable mother so harvest time will not be staggered over a month a quick trip and its all down sort of thing where as seeds are more risky. You are sure from previous years grows that this pheno withstands and produces the minerals..seedling are grown in a seperate plot to see what is best for future grows the whole seed lot should have 3 clones took so the hardyest one can be mothered indoors for next year..

I never harden off clones, and have been using cages and canes for years,I did roughly 200 plants this year and didnt lose one :santa1:Best tip?Pick a secure site with water close at hand,if you have to crawl through, under, over fences, brambles, nettles etc your increasing your odds of bringing home a decent crop, get your clones in the ground in may.

Coppers in the UK arent clued up yet about growing outdoors, they wont waste flying time looking for outdoor crops or disturbed ground, unless your doing a few acres your prepared site isnt going to attract attention of a passing whirlybird.Hardening off clones is one of those old myths that doesnt really have basis in fact in the UK,I have taken rooted clones from an indoor 1200 watt space, planted them outdoors the same day and didnt lose one,I have done that enough times to know it works. If your planting anywhere you have rabbits you need to use some form of protection,I learn that lesson the hard way losing 60-70 unprotected plants several years back,I always protect and havent lost one since.

As for perlite and vermiculite use it if you want,if someones close enough to spot it they are tripping over your plants, the average human walking along isnt going to pick up on what it is,I used to use it until I began to simplify outdoor growing, its not a science, its easy, mother nature does the hard work for you.

I would put a short stocky massive rootststem style multiple topped supercroped 1 foot clones out to ensure of a bumper harvest!!!! A christmas tree shape can bend and fall over and waste your time., its all in the prep and the goodies you keep at site (PLANT TRAINERS,SECUTEERS,TENT PEGS,CAMMO NETTING, even a compost heap can be hidden well.) I tell you a bunch of lanky or singular cola plants produce less outside and are seen easyer than bushes hidden well and if you plant week old straight into the ground you have to come back too many times. Its not worth it..

thanks for all the advise guys, itd gonna help me for sure,

i was planning on lsting the plants abit,

as for strains i think im going to try sour 60 from madzing, and maybe auto white russian from lowlife, im sorting out some other strains soon,

im thinking about early derban from seedsman seeds, £23 for a 10 pack so theyre good for the money, and seemings this is my first outdoor grow i dont want to pump huge ammounts of money into the genetics just yet, but im sure anything with durban poison in it will do fine.

As you sow so shall you reap, whatever you put in your going to get back mate X100,my expenditure for next year all in will be about 3K,you get it all back at the end of the season, good luck with the project,I only ever grew autos once, lowryders, absolute crap but that could have just been me,i prefer just to leave them to grow naturally without topping or pruning or bending, visit three times in the season, once to plant them, once mid season to check on them, and at the end to chop them, maybe a few times inbetween if theres a drought.

I've tried the original Low Ryders and White Russian auto's by Lowlife and both were susceptible to mold. Once mold gets hold of these little un's they're f*cked with 3 or 4 days. Grow them in your garden where you can keep an eye on them, yes, but as a guerilla plant I wouldn't waste your money fella :smokeit:

Buddymite?Morco at least get my name right;)I have never grown passion one,not my sort of strain to be honest,if it was that good everyone would be doing it,how did your grow end this season?Never heard nowt else after the rabid rabbit attack:confused:

BuddyMite, SpiderMite, BuddyMate yadda yadda .. hehehe :)

Yep tis year was disastrous, lost shitloads to rabbits, then my main site got found by kids (sweet wrappers on the floor gave them away huh) so I had to transplant 3' established plants to a new plot where they did not grow an inch more until they flowered, prolly shocked em' to f*ck.

I did get some percy from my Violator Kush, BCN Diesel & Kannabia Special though ..

Where do u know me from then BM, UK420? and what is that strain in the pic then .. ;)

Marco.

mmm, got some Early Queen vegging now, 1 EQ has shown herself in the flower cupboard I'll be putting clones of them out in May, and also I'll be crossing an Early Queen dad to Blue Power as she did very well outdoors this year in the UK at 50ºn
