You do have one point, if she goes past 70 days she starts to lose the lemon funk and gets more diesel-y... Which I actually like. Overly lemony sour d is always a sign of it being picked too early.

If you are chopping at 65 that's a shame because you are chopping down weed that gets people high for 30 minutes if that.

But yeah, day 70 ECSD sucks... 65 is garbage commercial, might as well be cali weed... 75 BARE MINIMUM. There's no argument here.

edit: It is kind of funny, the reason most people who dislike sour diesel feel that way is because of the short lived high. This comes from chopping it early, which is exactly what this guy is doing. CO2 my ass.

I've let it go 12, it was good, but unneeded imo. I don't like overly done sleepy weed, it's just preference. 78-80 is prime.

My chemD is good to go at day #60 and its straight fire. the day 60 shit is cerebral up high, cant sleep if u take a hit. Then i picked some around day 72 and that shit knocks you the fuck out.

Got some day 80 day shit curing up will let you know how that compares.

I personally like my 60day better then the 72day such a nice soaring up high

Man that's exactly what I was talking about with the whole preference thing. Day 70 chem isn't my thing, just puts me to sleep. 9 weeks all the way! Straight sour diesel is a different beast though, it needs longer...

When Do You Give It The Chop...? How Do You Like Your Steak...???

Whenever you give a pure diesel the chop, it's more or less grower personal preference on the timing of it all. All kinds of different dynamic's come into play here. What diesel pheno you have, grower skill, environment, and exactly how you prefer your finished product to taste & smoke.

I was recently talking to a buddy that has been growing diesel strains for many years, and we discussed this exact same topic. He said that he now prefers his diesel to be chopped whenever the trich's get cloudy. Once the trich's start becoming plump, ready to burst, you've taken it too far. And once your trich's get red, you've ruined it.

IMHO, it's all personal preference, with all those "dynamic" factor's thrown too. How do you like your BBQ steak...?? I like mine medium rare, with a hint of blood. Other's prefer rare as in bloody rare, other's prefer well done resembling a dried out leather shoe. To each his own.

Having said all that, I must state, there's nothing worse than a fine ECSD that has been chopped early.

Sour Diesel is a different beast and requires higher growing skills, experience & patience than most other strains. Dare I say you almost have to be a masochist to put up with the stinky fuely hermie bitch.

Then there's the issue with curing the fuely stinky bitch properly. She doesn't smoke well without a good 2 -3 week glass jar cure. Other's might say it needs to cured longer.

Im liking the 12 week right now , I smoke it right out of bed and it don't make me sleepy , but Iv been fried for years :bongsmi::
WE start chopping around 78 and it usually takes us 2 weeks to chop everything ,we trim wet ,hang for a few days then brown bag and then Tupperware. Two guys trimming 10-12lbs with scissors , sometimes we import a friend to help but lately it has been just the two of us and the radio . The stuff that comes down last is what we usually keep for the head . Next run we are doing half sssdh and the other half sour d . I sent some sssdh down to friends in the city and they went crazy for it .This run will be in coco ,using 3 gallon pots with 16 per light in our 6000 watt room ,lately we been using 7 gal pots and 8 per light

Hey man I never called you a commercial grower , take it easy . You are definitely taking things too seriously . Theres nothing wrong with you chopping your sour early if thats how you like it .

My stuff hangs for at least a week,it all depends on the time of the year and it still takes at least 4 weeks before my stuff is smokable . With the numbers we run I would need way too many jars and I don't have time for that ,with all the time it takes running these rooms . Thats why we use the large totes same concept just on a larger scale , I do use jars for my personal stash . We run two rooms and start chopping every 40 days most of the time . No one ever complains and they still pay top D in a competitive market Thats flooded with poorly grown sour and OG's .

really?? bet your customers will love you. you got a great attitude :snap out of it: . need to chill out here on mr chacos thread, no negativity needed.

and the ecsd like everyone else has said should be taken to 75+ days in my opinion. im at day 40 right now and they're really stacking and stanking right now. would never think of cutting them at 55, all the heads would be clear.
