he also lauded "drug courts"
they serve the wonderful purpose of bankrupting you before you violate their terms and do even more time than you would have...

I will never be voting for any Democrat or Republican again, I had high hopes for Obama but he has done a good job of shitting on them.

If anyone had doubt's, giving Bush a Presidential Medal of Freedom should have told you exactly where he stands.

I can't vote anyway. Not American, though you'd never know.

Must be duck season around those parts the ways he's dodging the MJ questions...

In the meantime, grow more herb and enjoy the black market while they have their 'discussion'

its pretty much what we all expected. he is up for re-election in 18 months, he couldnt afford to come out and say fuck yeah lets all light up a bleezy and get lifted cuz we legalizing this shit...

i mean get real. its very rare anything substantial happends in the first term. every president is looking to be a two term president and once there in there on that 5th year, its much easier for them to do what they really intended to because there is no fear of reprecussions.

give him a chance. i still believe obama will be the ally we all hoped for in a second term...and if not, hes still a better candidate than anyone running on the republican/tea party ticket...

agreed. he made a few key points.

1. it should be dealt with as a public health problemn, not an incarceration problem.

2. drug reform is being re-evaluated

3. shit i forgot...
lets hold him to it and im not holdin my breath thats for sure especially with a guy named "Holder" in his attorney gens office...

Oh yea i am not affiliated with any party and don't watch any news at all. (1)

Are you kidding me? the Governor of Hawaii says no birth certificate exists for him in Hawaii.(1)

I'm truly sorry you can't see the truth and support a criminal (2)

1 - You're just further proving that you have no credibility in such discussion... You just regurgitate far-right-wing talking points that are predominantly a fabrication.

2 - According to US federal law, every one of us is a criminal. Even med patients and CGs. So kindly GTFO.

People who support criminals are the biggest obstacle to progress, or did you like losing your job. how's that jobless recovery going? Has he bailed you out yet?

Oh yea i am not affiliated with any party and don't watch any news at all.

I don't know about you but $12 of food now costs me $50.

Are you kidding me? the Governor of Hawaii says no birth certificate exists for him in Hawaii.

I'm truly sorry you can't see the truth and support a criminal and believe in him as well.

When you come to you senses you may not be able anymore to stand beside anyone and yell traitor at the king.

Sorry about my spelling.

This has been an airing of my opinion not to be confused with facts even though it resembles facts. If you don't like my opinion please feel free to ignore it. It is not necessary to throw any more stones. i have said my peace and do not wish to argue here on this site.

I accept the apology of the above person and extend one for my response.

I missed it, anyone have a link yet?

I knew when I saw that top question about legalizing all drugs that's how he would dodge MJ.

I didn't vote for that question, I call rigged vote, that was set up so he could appear to address the question on MJ, without ever having to actually directly address it.

I need to see the vid before making my final judgment.

NORML Review:

President Obama’s response to YouTube Drug War questions

$15.5 billion this year alone, 2/3rds for ineffective law enforcement.
President Obama responded to the most popular (or, the eighty most popular) question on YouTube.com’s “Ask Obama” forum regarding the debate on drug legalization in America. Despite being the most popular question and gaining four times the support of any other non-drug war question, the YouTube moderator didn’t ask the question until #15. The President’s response is a lot of platitudes about treatment, reducing demand, and reallocating resources, despite the Obama administration’s budget that puts twice the resources toward law enforcement than to treatment. At its core, however, it retains the premise that responsible adult marijuana consumers must be persuaded by our government, through drug tests, drug courts, forced rehab, and incarceration, into not consuming cannabis.

President Obama’s Drug War Answer

Mr. President, we’re never going to stop smoking marijuana. Never. American demand for cannabis is here to stay. You can let criminals control that market or you can do the sensible thing and begin regulating it.

No point in asking our so-called president, or any other president for that matter in the future about legalization. Even if you were lucky enough to ask him directly, I'd bet the house you will never get a straight answer from him about that, or anything else.

POLL: today's interview with the president.

POLL: today's interview with the president.

i wonder..
had 19 passed do you think obama would have been able to so effectively ignore the marijuana issue in todays interview?

I feel like I can look at people and make a good guess if they smoke weed. Obama smokes weed. So does Rahm Emmanuel. So does former press secretart Robert Gibbs. It doesn't matter. What matters is how and how soon the cannabis industry can figure out a way to contribute financially to the election campaigns.

He did say that interdiction efforts need to be focused in prohibiting violent crime and protecting the borders. To me this is as close as he could come to saying "We're not going after the average home-growing US Citizen."

I'd call it neutral or slightly positive to our cause. Especially since he didn't laugh and say "No! Hah hah! You silly potheads with your internets!"

Not to cause more argument over this topic, but out of curiousity, what causes you to say it's a fact that he is a citizen?

I'm not completely on top of the recent facts brought up, and I really don't care enough about it to study it, but as far as I know he has not produced his actual birth certificate, correct?

It would be simple enough to end the debate if he were to do so. Why do you think it is that he has not?

Maybe they want this debate? Stir up a little controversy? I dunno, just wondering whatcha think.
