I know people that are spending 30 a gram for some horse shit called "haze", its like run of the mill mushed up higher end commersh with no crystals. Nothing like a home grown haze. Around here to the average joe organic home grown is an unobtainable dream, even the best commercial buds look like they've been keifed, you have to personally know the grower to get anything good.

Back in the late 60s I was paying $12-15 a lid for Mexican brick weed as I recall. Really good varieties went for a little over $100 I think, but I could seldom afford them. That's what started me on the growing trail all those year ago. However, factor in inflation between 1970 and 2010 and it brings the cost of that $100/lid up to $500 in today's dollars, about what people are paying today for high-end smoke. Price really hasn't changed much.

before i started growing, i youst to charge $75-$100 gr of purp, $20gr for my friends. name brand exotic you can get $500-$1000 oz., lbs $2000-$10000 and that's wholesale, all day long. just put your herb in those dead butterfly bottles and your good around here.
I've seen the college kids dorming at the universities in my area pay like $25-30 a gram for really good homegrown exotic shit, and like $15-20 a gram for regular sticky fruity outdoor. I go to college but don't dorm so still have my old connects, but have seen the prices rise lately in my area. When buying personal, I pay about $40 an eighth for that good sticky outdoor and if I want that super bomb exotic weed I can sometimes pay $50-$75 a slice, I've paid $20 a gram even though I used to never say I would. Used to get the same outdoor for $30-35 an eight and the same quality chronic for no more than $50 an eighth. But deals applied than and now for more quantity.

used to swing 8ths of ATF for $75+ on dead lot in the 90's. shit went quicker than i could bag it up.

Once saw "Pot O' Gold" for $100/8th.... might have been $110 or something ridiculous.
I'm a medical user. At that price, it needs to pull it's weight... any strain that gets me medicated properly in one hit (And it better be ONLY one hit), usually leaves me too whacked to function from the indica traits. Even the best ESCD I've run across took 2-3 hits for me. *shrug*
