Many believe that the "Amen" said at the end of a prayer is actually the name on an Egyptian God "Amun"...spelled "Amen" when used with a pharaohs name (also a God). It may have originally been a prayer to an Egyptian "God" and taken over by Christians later.
I just thought I'd throw that out there on this day before the other Pagan holiday that was converted into a Christian holiday.

have grown lots of seeds from a number of the 'breeders', and have yet to find a plant that i can say is 'connoisseur'...
when i see posts about '1 hit herb', or stone for 'hours', i question what we are doing wrong in our grows...

you need sativa's if you want a high that lasts more than 2 hours. long flowering sativa's. you could smoke one and be high over 12 hours depending on the strain. even some outdoor mexican has had me go to sleep and wake up still high.

agree... was in hawaii a few weeks ago... copped (theres a word from the past) some as the locals call it 'bud'... best shit we have smoked in many years... we have/are growing lots of rez's beans/have 2 mums of diff phenos of mr nice's ssh , still have a mum of the 'ortega' pheno of black dom, and numerous other 'elites' (all from seeds) , and none even come close to the hawaiian we smoked...
we consider ourselves reasonably decent growers, but we are harvesting nothing close to the hawaiian...
its gotta have lots of amber trichomes
we usually pick with about 50% or somewhat more amber... , growing in waterfarms, 3000k of lights, canna nutes... and still falling short...
In my humble opinion...and experience...a lot of amber makes it "sleepy weed"...the ultimate in couchlock. If that is what you're after, great. But if you want to last more than a few minutes before becoming a zombie...I'd take a it bit earlier...like the first hint of amber. I've taken Sativa's all the way through...from "energetic" to a one hit Quaalude. All determined by the "amberness".
To each their own...that's what makes it interesting!
the ultimate connoisseur strain = I was explaining to a buddy that the herb we were smoking was bred in mexico since 79 and the seeds were shipped from all over the world and ended up in my hands. I then found the best female and grew her 12+ weeks flushing for over a month. The herb was slowly dried and cured for a few months before smoking. The golden buds are spicy stinky and ash white.
My story is about a unique experience that few can try. The other route is where you find a clone and try what others like. I think both ways are important and one should try to make sure that every step of the process is given a full effort to ensure the best experience. So a connoisseur variety is ether something a bunch of people think is the best or something rare. Which do you want?

The best strain is so subjective to the individual! Some like sweet, some like sour, some like fruity or floral. Some like intense paranoia high, some like mellow couch-lock. Some say Diesel or OG, some say Super Silver Haze. IMHO, nothing beats the potency of a sweet Thai sativa, but yea, you are flowering 14-20 weeks and barely getting any weight!

Grow yourself about a dozen different elite strains and grind it all up then mix them all together in a big joint and you will have what you are looking for probably. No real answer to this question really even exists but the closest I have come to one so far is a good SOL Sweet Tooth if you like grapefruits & blueberry with tons of frost, big yields, and an excellent quality high that won't make you paranoid and the 7 to 9 weeks flowering period is always nice too.

also it depends on your growing style....I know personally i've grown the same clones of ak47 many times with different results each time. I didnt really nail it until the last couple of grows......the first several grows left me with shit bud that had no flavor and not very crystally while the last times were ultra frosted super dank.......same clones all times. just food for thought
