Genetics are only part of the equation, in case anyone missed this post in the start of the thread I would say in my vast experience with faster strains the environment is 90% of the equation. You can also manipulate the light cycle during the last few weeks of bloom to be shorter and thus increase the rate of ripening with minimal loss of yield when compared to getting a whole extra harvest in per year. There are in fact many strains that are done in 6 to 7 weeks people are not just making this stuff up not all Cannabis strains have to flower for 8 to 12 weeks. Lowryder for instance starts flowering at around 2 or 3 weeks old and is completely done flowering and maturing at just around 8 weeks from seed with all cloudy trichomes. These very quick maturing traits can be found in other early purpose bred strains that are not autoflowering but you most likely will not complete them in the potentially fast advertised timeframe unless your grow conditions allow for such rapid growth. Not everyone is harvesting their plants early and smoking premature bud that says they have fast strains done in 49 days and to suggest that is just false information. There are many fast strains. :canabis:

I'm going to have to agree with SOTF420 again - environment makes a big difference - and also elaborate on his point, despite the fact that I lack "vast" experience with fast strains. The type of environment really matters, but the extent to which you have your feeding schedule dialed to the strain's needs might have an even greater impact. The optimal ratio (even when you have an established combination of nutes and additives) will differ a bit from strain to strain, of course, and I know this is a thread about strains, but I have a couple bits of advice to give, gleaned from personal experience, that I think are relevant to the topic of growing for speed/potency/yield:

Last year I was surprised to learn that certain bloom boosters can make a world of difference. In general, I have almost nothing good to say about Advanced Nutrients (other than the fact that they do yield huge), but their Bud Blood stimulator is one hell of a product. I tried it on several 12-14 week sativa dominant strains during last year's outdoor season and saw their flowering times come down by an average of about a week compared to control plants that didn't get it. The stuff really got flowering going in a hurry, and worked fine with my preferred (and OMRI certified) Earth Juice schedule, even though it's definitely not organic. It has serious potential, and is something worth incorporating into any nute program if you're going for a quick finish.

I also notice a slight speed benefit from the application of Hygrozyme (I apply it all the way until flush, though some prefer to taper off its application during flowering), and it has an even more pronounced effect on quality and yield - really great stuff, if you ask me.

Yup both envirorment and genetics but if you can get the genetics you can work on the envirorment LOL peace out Headband707

Uh huh. I've got a speedy blueberry that is a fast finisher only if fed to its liking and treated right. Finishes 1.5 weeks quicker than her sisters.

One more vote for bogglegum, got one right now at 32 days that looks done,
(new pheno from seed) or rather, good enough to sell.

Ive heard lots of good things about Bog's Bogglegum...Looks to be a decent yielder too......I'm going to try it out soon....Hopefully..Its on me wish list, but so are about 20 other strains and hybridoors.

50 days you say? It's kinda like your parents saying "if you don't graduate b4 the age of 12 were gonna kill your ass and make another you"

It's done when it's done imho :) EVERY room is different and no strain is the same that's why we like the females.

LOL....yeah, I still haven't found a 50 day strain, not that i have been looking, but I would know if i found her.....although 60 days is not that bad in me eyes...I'm fine with it....

Can anyone confirm if Bogglegum, actually finishes in 50 days.? thats an awfully short time to get fat, dense, stinking, shining donkey dicks......But, if it works it works....True or not?

Green Crack is always fun and fast..but clone only not seed ..lol peace out Headband707

Yeah, Ive heard lots of good about Green Crack... I have supposedly smoked it a couple times, BUT, I can't get clones of her, Im on the wrong side of the states for that....Its still 1938 where Im living....lol....

Endless Skies 42 days... Huge yield. Very potent and under-rated. Does better in hydro SOG (ebb & flow) than soil or coco.
36 hours of darkness before 12/12 will speed up flowering. CO2 will help too. Don't feed too much. Lots of light!

I'd like ta make somethin real clear about my earlier post's in this thread.

I found the quick phenos I did by growing dozens of different strains over the years. Bein fast was never my main concern. But, it does happen from time ta time. My Radio Shack tricho-meter doesn't lie.

It aint got anything ta do with my "favorite brand" I had over 20 different flavors back then, OR bein "greedy" again, I had all sorts of bud then, "horses" ??? ( I don't know what ta say about that ) OR even my folks "killin me cause I didn't graduate when I was 12" I reckon I jus couldn't cut the mustard like that, when I was 12. LOL! sorry guys, I couldn't resist!

Nope, it has more ta do with growing large numbers of strains/seeds. I know not everyone can do this, so I thought I'd try an point folks in the right direction by mentioning what I have found.

That's all I have ta say about that... Good luck! BC

Here at 35 days.

I wouldn't recommended this style for best yield. SOG in 2 gallon containers is the best for yield IMO. This was experiment run in 5 gallon vegged longer LST and topped. Don't like the results.... as it seems to mature a few days behind the smaller ones and doesn't seem like it will yield as good as the SOG way per square yard.

Himalayan Gold from Green House has been nearly a 50 day strain, lacks potency but makes up for in quantity.
