Me too !!
me three lol. probably cause it took the most effort, plus i think its kinda cool :)

Very nice job blanco..waiting for the upppp now ;)

see ya

I know my fault.... ive been really busy defoling my other plants and batteling caterpillars that have been destroying my white widow buds. eating the fresh pistils and shitting and pissing all over the buds. ive been going out there 2-3 times a day spending hours spreading the nugs open and killing 20-40 caterpillars at a time for the last week or so. it is really pissing me off cause they were going to be so goooood. but now ill just be happy if they dont eat more than a pound off that bitch.

i just got my O'kief gear though so what ever they ruin to bad ill just make hash out of

thanks catcher,

ahhh SO sweet blanco, very inspirational, I do organic outdoor too and veg indoors as you do. Whats your vegging regimen.... your vegimen? That alaskan looks beautiful.
i dont really have one, in this case it was just the last surviving cut of the AI and was in my veg room until it was time to take cuts and put them outside. well since im one hell of a procrastinator, i waited until a month after i should have had cuts outdoor and had still yet to take cuts. so i just put the whole plant outdoor like 7 weeks late. i would have rather vegged a fresh clone for a couple weeks, amended my soil, and stuck it outside like mid march, in which case the AI would be like 4 times the size at least

the stalk bro, even the branches get fat and woody. look at the pics up close zoomed in and stuff there is not alot of green flesh, its all light brown cracked bark.

thanks guys:wave:,

ill try and update with pics as soon as i can, as the Alaskan and TBA look totally different, but no promises on a date LOL

a quick mini update, featuring the Alaskan Ice

9/11/10
she's begun to flower... finally LOL

here's her trunk

some walk around shots

the canopy

and some defoliation details; im not done, i still have a lot of work to do.

i have been helping out at a small 30 some odd plant private collective. they have a low plant count but they are true monsters, and make my plants like little ornamentals growing in party cups LOL.

I have pics of everything of mine with buds shots and all. but im hella busy and it takes forever to upload the pics to my album, so bear with me on this i likely want to update this thread more than anyone. i just have matters of a higher priority right now.

the caterpillars have really slowed this thing down, in resin production, bud production and maturation. they have been this frosty with no change in the pistils for about 2 weeks its like most of the plants energy is being focused on recovering from the caterpillar damage. im finding fewer and fewer caterpillars but the ones i do find are huge.

does anyone know if these pests are seasonal, will new eggs stop hatching anytime soon?

the smell:
well in the macro, just catching a whiff of the plant gives a very skunky smell but when you smell the buds or rub some resin it is mostly sweet, somewhat grape ape'ish smell. kind of raisin like, not chem like when grown indoor.

Caterpillars are not seasonal. They are in much higher numbers during the summer due to higher temps which equals higher reproductive rates. Caterpillars will stick around till all the food is gone, aka, your whole crop. I am not sure if you are the one that opened a thread about caterpillars but I would give you the same advice and tell you to spray with Spinosad and Safer Caterpillar Killer. Good luck and nice looking plants.

thanks Bulldog11,

i skimmed through that thread and saw that part after i had posted that here, and i was told by a friend to use BT, aswell. i just wish i had known and been using that stuff as a preventative, but last season i had no issue with just the alaskan ice and a bunch of veggies in the garden. this year its just been the white widow under attack the chemdd is imuaculant minus the white flies but numbers have decreased naturally.

i was thinking that they probably attack the most susceptible/desirable plants first, and maybe thats why i didnt have any issues last year due to them going for the fruit and veggies first never making their way to the cannabis? like i said they are just my white widow, and my strawberries:)

thanks again,
peace

Some strains defend bugs naturally, just like you can have a spider mite infestation in your room with it covering every strain but one. Is it because the bugs were full from the other plants? No. The plant itself has repelled the bugs. Same with caterpillars, maybe last years strain was better at fighting off cats than white widow. Well, next year you can almost eliminate this problem if preventive measures have taken place. I am happy if bugs get %10 of my nugs. I have also been able to reduce this number by using the moldy buds in a BHO hash. So my % of lost THC is most likely under 3%.
