Yeap you are correct works good ... the better drainage allowed me to change the way i water my gurls ... give them larger amounts of water less often and this stops salt build up so i no longer have to flush the soil only for last week or two of flowering .. i have even reused soil up to four times with this method and no drama!

thought i'd chuck up a few more pics, i sat down examining the plants again this arvo as i was bored and it's just relaxing looking at them all under the HPS :D

found another pheno. there're different stem colouration phenos. about half are plain green pheno, with another half red pinstripe pheno, from pale red stripes to really prominent red stripes.

and my favourite plant so far leaf shape/vigour wise is this male, he's still looking awesome! all the leaves but the ones folding out form the growing tip are flat as a board held out to catch light, looks bizarre....

my hand isn't holding this leaf up at all... just put it below it so you got a better contrast and could see the outline better.

just love the folds in these leaves on this boy! he's also the same as the one in the photos up a few comments showing the long spindly laterals growing.

looking good mate :) i hope that super squaty one is a male ;)

i'll have to have a closer look next time i'm rummaging through them for you mate, there are quite a few small stocky ones that i'm sure a few will be male. i'll have to take detailed photos for you so you can choose your stud(s) mate :D

when checking the tent last night guys there were a shit load of males that have appeared and whose balls are inflating hehe. i think i'll move them into the closet just before they drop their load everywhere and then collect it all. i might select my favourite males and mix their pollen together to fertilize my favourite females to begin my own IBL as well as mix all the pollen from each male to fertilize the majority of each girl with. i'll try getting some more pics up tonight for y'all :D

so how many males and how many females have you ended up with darwin?

not sure yet mate but i've a feeling i've got more males than females. i'll have a proper look and count tonight before lights out when i water them and get back to you :D

well, per female yes lol but overall it'll be exactly the same no matter what the sex ratio is as it's going to be an open pollination. Ne (effective population size) is fixed whether i'm using 20 females and 1 male or 10 females and 11 males, still adds to Ne = 21. so same diversity :D

i mean when you using more males instead of females this gives you more genetic variations and less more chances of bottlenecking...:blowbubbles:
