I like 19 because it doesn't differentiate concentrated from dried flowers. So now I can carry a half oz of co2 hash and a half oz of bho and not need to worry about getting hit up on controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Hoo de hoo de hooooooooo !!!!! :dance013::dance013:

oooh what is this???

Capitalism 102

Capitalism 102

This is truth:
"Well, welcome to Capitalism 101… this is how things work in a legal market. People get up early, commute to a place of business, work hard, price a product/service based on real market demands, pay taxes, follow regulations, make political and business connections, save capital, grow and expand. The days of sleeping til noon, tending a few houseplants, paying no taxes, following no regs, prohibition pricing, and making more from a harvest than a schoolteacher or fireman makes all year are over."
We know who on that thread this applies to(even through they front OTHER reasons).

BUT, not to try to appear like a no voter, but those"61,000 Californians faced misdemeanors and 17,000 faced felonies last year alone – Prop 215 didn’t do shit for them." could very well be solved by SB 1449(Leno Bill). All of those misdemeanors will be infractions, and some of those felonies(concentrate felonies) will be misdemeanors.

Just need to keep that in mind when discussing this issue with others. It is relevant.

The Truth,
Those with the capital make all the rules and keep all the wealth. Everyone else can piss in the wind and die, hopefully after they have spent all of their savings on healthcare. And don't worry, as soon as one sucker is done there are ten more lined up to take their place.

Yipee, lets put the cannabis plant on this program so we are permitted to exercise our "rights and freedom."

Teachers and firefighters don't make enough money to even purchase a home in their community. Nice system.

Nice front for truth and Justice.

Economics 101: LABOR is Capital.

If you, the average worker (not you CC), are too stupid to understand your own value then we're fucked.

Education is the key. Teach people why Prop 19 is an improvement of the current system and they will vote for it. I mean seriously, i deal with low income people on the daily, most are terrible with money. Simple budgeting is a skill they lack. We don't need a revolution to fix that. We need compassion.

My grandfather was a fireman, grandmother a home maker. somehow they were able to buy a house in venice beach, create a good life for themselves and raise a family. my grandmother was free to volunteer locally and take part in the community.

something has changed since then. theres no way you could pull that off nowadays. off of one income?

the more time the real middle class/working class spends trying to stay afloat, head to the grindstone, the less time we have to care or contribute to our system.

I dont know if keeping us busy staying alive was part of the plan, but it certainly works to the benefit of those with the money and power.

i was thinking last night about aging democracy. it feels like eventually democratic systems decay over time. they start off great, we the people.. blah blah.. but so many years later its, we the corporations and special interest lobbies. is this all part of a cycle and eventually the pendulum will swing the other way? or is there a life span to this shit, and eventually this social contract will have to be renewed?

i understand that theres no way to keep the big guns out of the growing marijuana business forever. they will take it over at some point in the far away future. i'll be glad to say i was part of it when it was all bikers, hippies, ex lumber jacks, new age spiritualists, renegades, outlaws and freedom fighters.

I'm not sure where the hell this comes from. However every teacher or firefighter I've ever been around known or otherwise has lived in nice houses in nicer neighborhoods than they even work in. I realize teachers don't make excellent money altho they make enough to do more than just get by. I once had a highschool history teacher who I'd say I was good friends with and he took trips somewhat often for vacation one included a trip to some islands in the carribean and he wasn't even 30 yet. Not to mention the fact that teachers get one of the longest extended vacations around. I believe that yes firefighters and teachers and other great services to our community are worth far more than they are paid but majority of them do well now and not just ok or worse. Your comparison further leads me to believe that you are delusional or just misinformed. Tho who could blame you, modern society has created many examples of such. Like hearing the blames directed at past and present presidents all while ignoring the rest of the corrupt system of government alongside their notorious bread and butter rich folk and corporations. As I've said before prop 19 can go either way. The way it will go will depend on if anyone is going to bother to pay attention or do anything like decades passed, or the bettering or worsening of the original intention itself. So its up to you, will you quit spreading bullshit and non-voter attitude then take the next step by using your voice and power where it is effective? We do still have some small affect on our government and society tho it may be small doesn't mean we should give up the reigns (pun intended) while liberty and freedom stands at distance staring back.

Back then you didn't need a TV with DVD and cable in every room, computers all over the house with internet plans and access to easy impulse buying, 2 cars in the driveway with drop-down DVD players to entertain the kids, convenience foods, a private bedroom for each kid, multiple bathrooms in your home or half the modern conveniences we have today. Those things cost money and even though we don't feel we are being exorbitant when we buy those very common items, we are paying for them and that takes away a good part of our salaries.

The current state of middle class finances are dictated by ourselves! It is perpetual... Mom and Dad both work outside the home so meals have to be prepared quickly instead of made from basic ingredients, we pay for daycare so we can both work, we need to have two cars and family cellphone plans to keep up with our schedules. We commute 30 minutes so we can get a higher salary and pay hundreds of dollars per month for gas, we sue everyone who wronged us so business and medical insurances are raised. We demand lower prices so big companies like walmart contract with manufactures that go outside of our country to have products produced cheaper than our union-blinded laborers are willing to work for. Gee, we don't have any jobs in the country but we can buy a cool soft-sided cooler at Walmart for $4.96! Wooo hoo!

I'm not saying that things should go back to how they were in the 50's, but we need to know that the reason we can't live as easily on a single income is directly related to what we now feel we need to have... I'm guilty just like the next guy.

That is where Cali is in a great position right now to make a huge impact on their economy with Prop 19. This is 100% for you guys! No import and no export. Cannabusiness will be a self supporting economy for the state. Imagine if we could run the whole country that way? Are there any other businesses that restrict import from not only other countries but other states even? Add to that the draw of people from multiple countries and every state converging on Cali looking to enjoy a freedom for a week or two of their life that most people never thought would materialize... That is huge!

You question the system then relegate yourself to losing to it, immediately afterwards. Eliminate this apathy. Give the people hope that things can change and problem solved.
People without hope don't try.
People who don't try can't win.
WE have to WIN.
With this Prop, and with OUR country.

LH, Jed,

while i feel everything jed said is very pertinent and true, i believe the largest contributor to this phenomenon is Inflation; the printing of (paper) fiat currency without intrinsic backing, causing the prices of goods to unperportionately rise relative to salary.

since they print money with no backing, it makes every dollar out there worth that much less. Over the last 70 + years its really added up, if the gold standard were never removed you could buy a brand new PS3 game for under a buck. i know i know you would also get paid a lot less per hour, but it would be perportionately much higher when compaired to the price of goods.

the worlds central banks are the real problem, in america they're called The Federal Reserve Banks. but there is nothing federal about them, they do not hold reserves and they are not a bank. they are a printing press... there is alot to it.

peace

I don't know blanco... value of a dollar is relative isn't it? They could recall half the money in the country and cut everyones saleries in half and we would be in the same boat right? I agree there is funny business with the printing of money, and the printing/coining of collectibles that are intended to be held out of circulation but I'm not sure that is the reason we struggle to survie on single incomes. I do believe that has an effect on our national budget so maybe it all trickles down through the stock market to the people... what I wrote above is probably the limit of my understanding of economics!

The all mighty corporation have distanced themselves from the "old school" high output high quality service/product factory mindset. They have instead taken "marketing and sales" to higher planes by morphing them to "Perceived necessity facilitators and Brand loyalist creators" They create a culture so "apparatus" dependent, you really have no choice but to participate or be a hermit in the jungle.

But as I sit here, smoking a chopper and noticing I am helping this thread digress, I realize one thing.......

I like all my stuff......

You are right we would be in the same boat. A boat powered by privately owned paper currency. A government enforced monopoly on money and the printing of "money." Not free enterprise or capitalistic at all.

if anyone wouldl care to expand their economic education, vonmises.org is a great place to start. hundreds of free books in pdf format.

Murray Rothbard's: The Mystery of Banking This in particular is great. Historical for the most part. Not overly observational or anecdotal. He sticks to the facts and figures, but it remains approachable for a "novice economist." I think most of the folks in this thread could handle it.

sorry for off topic post. :blowbubbles:

Who cares if somebody makes a living in the new Cannabis industry or wants to keep a few plants like tomatoes in their backyard or balcony? I'm not dependent on the Heinz Corporation for tomato sauce. So why should I be for any other plant based commodity?

Pass #19 now, then improve on it later.

"Economics 101: LABOR is Capital."

This statement is 100% incorrect. You digging holes in the ground is labor. A shovel is capital. If you don't own the ground or the shovel, you are going to do a lot of work for someone else.

My parents and grandparents were immigrants and were able to purchase houses and raise families with their wives at home. The dollar was up, taxes were down, and land was affordable. Good thing we have our politicians and political system to fix things for us. I can't wait for them to fix cannabis.
