Whats up guys?
This is just another one of those quick updates. Ive been so busy with work lately I haven't had time to get on here... The Lowasis are looking like they are getting close to finishing. The LR2's should be on their way to finishing as well. Some news on the monster jems is that they finally showed sex. The 2 biggest ones are male and one other is a female. The shortest jem which looks the best and has a very dark green color hasn't shown sex yet. It seems almost all of the new batch of seedlings has turned male... Idk what happened, They looked kinda stunted so I transplanted them in the garden... Now they look to be males. I will get some more seeds going next week. I already have some new sprouts that just popped out of the soil. They are some Original Jems that have not been back crossed, and some LR2s. I think I will germ the rest of my Lowasis seeds this next round. She is a nice sturdy plant and has a nice smell. I saw a few seeds that look ready on the lowasis plants right now. I also tried crossing the lowasis male with the LR2. Anyways pics...

Well for those of you who follow this thread the time has come for my first harvest of the season! I should have already had another harvest by now but the seedlings got a fucked up and had to start over. Ehh oh well I have some fresh cut buds drying now. The Lowasis plants seemed to out class the LR2 fems, but the LR2 has a very nice smell. This was my first time growing both of these strains. They are making my whole shed smell so much you can smell them outside. I expected this as I could smell them from 20 ft away when they were growing ha. I pollinated the LR2s with some Lowasis pollen. I pulled 2 of my LR2s a few days ago to see how far along the seeds were. All of them were nice fat black seeds. I probably could have let them go another week but I wanted some fresh buds for a camping trip this weekend. Now I should a good amount of lowasis seeds and lowasis x LR2. I will be planting some more seedlings in the ground in the next few days. These will be Jems and more LR2s. I have some other Bad Bettys and lowasis that i just put in the soil yesterday as well. Anyways enough ranting here is the only pic i took before i left for work. Ha trimming buds before work is always nice...

How long did you let them go? My Bluestreaks & S60s are on day 60 outdoors and pistils are beginning to turn brown. Chopping early is my biggest weakness so I'm gonna let them go for about another 2 weeks before even taking another gander at them.

Be sure to tell us how the smoke is on those things.

Molson I didn't even keep track of how long they've been goin for. All of them were seeded besides one LR2 so I wanted the seeds to be done. I went back and checked when I started these. They were going for almost 10 weeks from when they first sprouted. I always go by how the plants and they trichs look not by how long the plant has been growing. Get your self a cheap loupe to see how they trichs are looking and go from there.

Well I made it back from a 3 day camping trip. Temps were in the 100s the whole time... made for me getting a little bit burnt. Surprisingly I only lost one of my seedlings. All the seeds I had put in soil for the part cup challenge popped in that heat. I had some good reviews on my first auto harvest of the season. Most of my friends who went all have medical cards. They all loved the smell and taste of the autos. Ha by the end of the trip they were asking where to get some of those seeds.... The buds have a real fruity smell and really clean taste. I was suprised they had that much smell after only 3 days dried. I ended up getting about 50 Lowasis BX1 seeds and 50 LR#2 X Lowasis seeds. I will be getting some of these seeds going in maybe a week or two. I was really impressed with the lowasis. All I have goin in my garden now are 2 alf3 fems. I pulled 1 alf3 male and my other 3 PC seeds all turned male. I also still have those jungle jems going as well. 2 turned female and 2 were male. To me they look like long season girls. I will try to let them go as long as possible. I am going to start pumping them with bloom nutes to maybe get them in to gear.

They look long season to me too..still haven't figured out How you could have done it.

Temps are stupid high over here too...thank goodness for cold showers..everytime I pass the bathroom I stick my head under the
shower.
I get a shower to take the dog down the beach in the morning..
and a shower when I come back..it is Mad... :toohot:

I'm not complaining though..I spent enough time waiting for it to come around.

Those harvested girls look Good....:canabis:
They sound as if they enhanced the trip.

I get Great pleasure from wiping my m8's out....:smoke out:
knowing that you grew/bred them yourself.
It always makes me smile. :D

I planted a couple Lowasis and a LR2 seedling in the garden a few days ago. Today I put some of the lowasis X LR2 seeds in as well. I put them straight in the garden to see how they do. Last year I tried the same thing and didn't have very good germ rates. Maybe the heat has something to do with it... I mostly want to see if these seeds will germ. Its only been a week or 2 since I cut the plants down. I am about to get some more beans goin in cups as well. Trying to keep the rotation goin...

Mossy yeah they deff look long season to me. The big one is starting to bush out a little bit. I tied down the other shorter one as well. They should be able to finish where they are at in my garden. Hopefully make up for taking up space by a good yield of buds. They look to be starting to flower already.

Figment42 - these buds will deff be enjoyed, I'm trying to let them cure so I can smoke some while in the hills deer hunting in a few weeks...

Hope you have a Great Trip m8...and Don't forget the Camera.
I want a shot of the view that you have while you are Toking it.

I can be there with you Bud.....:friends:

What you have done with the JEM is a genetic impossibility.
Thinking that she may have been accidently pollenated is almost as far out...

so..the only way I think we can solve your puzzle is..
set away another test pot.
10 if you can...
see what you get then.

I don't mean you have to harvest them..just AF test..
so simply over-crowd the pot...
and kill them when you see what they are gonna be.

Well guys Ive been really busy lately thats why there has been a lack of updates. Not really too much to update on here anyways. Ive been planting a lot of beans the last couple of weeks. I had some bad luck with my seeds getting a lot of males in the last run. Only 2 females out of 10 beans.... I planted some of my lowasis and the lowasis X LR2. I put these directly in the ground in my garden. So far one seed has popped out already. The long season jems are kicking into flowering mode. Maybe they turned photosensitive or something. They both look the same , one is just more short and squat. Ive been tying down the bigger one to promote more side branch growth. I am thinking about hitting them with some pollen soon. Either lowasis or some jem pollen if the jems I have going turn male. I think the new soil i tried using was messing up my seedlings. They turned into some straight stumpies... I keep finding these small worms/ catabpillars in the soil when i transplant. I dont know if they are already in the soil or getting in the cups through the drainage holes. I think this has something to do with the slower growth... They kinda look like and inch worm. I found a few on my buds while triming but i dont know what they hare. Some searching will be in order for the lil buggers.

Mossy - I will get another re germ on my jems that are BX. See what they do this time around. Even though those ones didnt Autoflower they look like they are going to produce some tasty meds anyways... ha

Aggghhhh m8....

I keep finding these small worms/ catabpillars in the soil when i transplant.

not a little fat white/cream maggoty thing is it.....

Vine weevils sometimes come in bought compo and the EAT the plant from the roots..
producing stumpies..then death...
and because they eat the root..
you don't normally notice anything until the plant dies.
unless you are scratching about in the soil.

Purrrrrlease tell me they aren't vine weevils. :noway:

I looked up those vine weevils and they are not that. They look more like baby inch worms. They are really small barely noticeable. I will not be using that soil again anyways. I am already out and am about to get some diff kind for the next germs.

Whats going on guys?

I've been so busy lately its not even funny. Barely have time to upload some pics before work. Not really too much going on with my grow as of late. For some reason all my seedlings are growing slow as hell. Its really starting to piss me off. The only reason I can point it to is the soil I used. I tried to go with a new brand and it seems to not be working well. The only plants that are growing good are the non auto jems. They are deff switched into bud now. I have a small male jem that is about to open is sacs up soon. I think I will hit the jungle jems with his pollen. That way I can at least have a few seeds from them. Temps have been in the 90s the last 2 weeks. You'd think my seedlings would be taking off... However they all seem to be stunted or something is going on .... I am going to be getting some new soil in the next few days and will get a few more seeds going. Then in 2 weeks I will be deer hunting for a week or so. Be nice to get away from work.... Mossy I will bring you back some nice pics of where we are enjoying some spliffs up there ha.

Aye M8..that would be my guess too.

I can see the soil in your veg garden is good..because your veggies look good and strong..so it can only be your baby soil.

Idiots in the garden centre stopped stocking the good stuff I use and you saw the results on the alternite two compos I tested..
and they were both supposed to be universal.

The only plants that are growing good are the non auto jems.

Bloody typical.....:good:
Ifind it a rare season when mother nature doesn't let you benefit from your hard work..
but this has been a Strange season weather wise all over the world..

Mossy I will bring you back some nice pics of where we are enjoying some spliffs up there ha.

Yeah m8..I might never be able to afford to holiday in the U.S....
BUT..
I can say that I have seen some of it if you bring me photos back...:tiphat:

Realising that there is probably only 8 weeks left in my natural season..
I have set a load of germs away in the last couple of weeks.

Have a great trip m8....:good:

Sorry I havent been around to update this thread as off late. Been way too busy with work and shotting my bow to get ready for deer season... Bout to be goin up to the hills this friday. Ill get you guys some pics in the next few days. Not too much goin on besides a bunch of seedlings that dont seem to want to kick into gear. My 2 jungle jems are looking really good though. They are in full on bud mode thats for sure. I think I will hit them with some Lowasis pollen I have saved just to keep some seeds from these ladies. They were suppossed to be 100% AF but something pollinated them or something..... I just want to keep the genetics alive it could turn out to be something great ...

Whats up Guys?

Feels like its been ages since I've last posted on here ha. I was away on a hunting trip for 5 days. Then I get back and have to work 5 days straight.. Pretty much like I never had a day off. The trip was semi successful, as my cousin was the only one that shot anything. He got a nice 4 point buck though. This was archery season so there is a lot more variables involved... I my self did not even get a shot or see anything that you could legally shoot, But we'll be back next month when rifle season opens. Bad news is that I got all the way up there and was gonna go on a walk and shoot some pics... Walk way down the hill and try to turn my camera on to find out the battery is dead.... ahh made me pretty mad but what can you do. I found some straight crazy spots too i wanted to show you guys. Deff some spooky areas we were walking through.

On another note my jungle jems are looking really nice. Im thinking they have another 2-3 weeks. I will let them go as long as they need though. I have about 10 other lil stumpies that are all seed runs. Crazy thing is one of my Lowasis seeds I planted from my plants I had growing earlier this season sprouted. It had been in the ground for a month or so and finally decided to sprout haha.. I don't think I will get any more seeds going now though. I will try to finish up these seeds runs as the hours of sun are starting to get too short. I think this is resulting in my lil stumpy plants. My buddy and I are supossed to be getting an indoor AF SOG grow going sometime soon. That's why I'm trying to get as many seeds as possible right now. Stay tuned for that grow...

Jungle Jems Fattening Up

HH, was that MG organic soil? I bought a bag of that stuff this summer for some seedlings. Same thing, very slow growth, pale plants. looked like it was very lacking in N. The seedlings i had in plain promix did much better. I ask also, because the stuff i got was very woody looking like your cups.

I was thinking of the worms you talk about, they might be thrips in the pupa stage, they are like mini maggot looking things?

The jungle jems are looking nice BTW!. :D

Bighill I was using the MG organic in the begining of my season and it seemed to work better. I tried going with a non ferted soil and it is pretty woody like you said. I forgot what it was called but every plant I had in it grew like shit. All stumpies and it really pisses me off because it wasted all my time. I stopped getting those small worm things when I stopped setting the cups on my compost pile. Must be something that is living in there... I see how well mossy's plants grow and I cant figure out why mine aren't taking off... I think its a little to late to get anything else going for this season. My buddy wants to get an indoor grow going pretty soon and we will try some diff soil. Maybe foxfarm soil but i got some really bad soil gnats form that soil before so it turns me off. I think that soil is more hype for newb growers than anything.. The jungle jems are looking very nice and have almost no odor. I should pollinate them with some lowasis pollen but I think it might be too late. I already hit one small nug with jem pollen to try to keep those genetics around. Maybe get about 10 seeds if they took....

FFoF has some good treats in there! as far as it being a newb soil though, it's definitely designed for ease of use, which accounts for the price more than anything; but hey, it will work great!

I had some very recent soil gnat issues going on, I was able to effectively treat with Diatomaceous Earth. Then I followed up with crushed & sprinkled Mosquito Dunks to seal the Deal. Death to them buggers.
