Good looking grow! Interesting price breakdown with the 400w. About a buck a day for some quality homegrown... sounds good to me!

The one thing that I don't running through the Kill-A-Watt is the AC unit for the room so that cost is not included in the running cost.
But yea buds for less than the price of a daily beer.

Day 5 of the bud stage.
The plant are doing just fine so far they start to stretch yet but it has only been 5 days.
Today I defoliated the underside of the SCROG for better air flow.

Thanks Pine Boy. During the bud cycle I find myself just sitting in front of the cabinet armoring the plants and getting a good dosage of light theropy.

Another fine looking crop you've got going there gdbud. But that is going to be a real crowded box if you much more stretch! I find myself just watching the grass grow alot too, but what else can you do at this phase, right? 'Cept smoke a little from the last batch and keep training.

Touchofgrey thanks for stopping by again.
If needed I'm able to move the light up another 9", But I'm going to keep training them under the SCROG and not let them get out of hand like last grow.

I did my first flush on the ladies yesterday the first gallon that I ran through them came out with a discharge of ~2000 ppm, So then I ran a second gallon and came out with a reading of ~1200 ppm.
Today I changed the reservoir and added GH Flora Nova Bloom and I will continue to alternate the reservoir change between plain water and nutrients . That seemed to work out fine during the veg. cycle.

I also took pictures of my teen buds today. Enjoy the pictures! Day 12

Hey gdbud,

Iam very interested in the Blumat system. I use 4 gallon pots of pure coco currently and watering so much is a pain in the ass. Do you think one emitter per bucket will be enough for 4 gallons of coco? Also where did you pick your Blumts at?

Hi barth,
I think the you would only need one Blumat per 4 gallon pot. I have not ran coco yet, But I might have to try someday.
There is a Blumat auto watering thread here and I know some people are having great success running coco and the Blumat.
I found the Blumats at a hydro store here in town someone here on IC posted that they found that a hydro store was closing them out and was selling them at half price and I was able picked up the last one.

gdbud,

Thanks for the answer. I saw the thread you speak of. I then noticed that it was almost 30 pages long. Then my laziness kicked in. :shucks:

This would be great for me as i'm thinking of quitting the perpetual scrog and just go with 4 plants all the same age.
:thank you:

Just to help you laziness If I remember right the talk about coco really gets going about the last 10 pages or so.

I would think that a perpetual SCROG would be difficult to pull off, But with your individual screen/bucket you seem to have been able to pull it off.

Hey gdbud, I just wanted to let you know what an inspiration your cabinet has been for me. I am thouroughly impressed with what you've been able to come up with, both in DWC and in your air pots.

I'm currently planning a cabinet to provide seeds and clones for the 2011 guerrilla season, as well as to become an ongoing perpetual harvest machine. Your cabinet has really opened my eyes up to what I can accomplish. Thank you so much for your diligent posting in your two journals. I'll be following this for sure.

One quick question though. Now that you're not running a semi-vertical system, have you put any sort of reflector in your cool tube?

EDIT: From looking back over your recent pictures and observing the lighting, I can tell you've got a good reflector system in there. But I do have one other question now.

What did you do with your clones when you flipped to 12/12? Are you running a separate cabinet, or do you have a separate chamber in that cabinet somewhere? What's your plan with these clones? Are you going to try to set up something perpetual?

007,

Update week 3

Update week 3

So today is about the 3rd week into the bloom cycle and life inside the cabinet is shining brightly!

The plants seems to have stopped stretching during their third week and the plants are now working on the buds.
Growing these Field Marshall Lady Berry Kush plants in a SCROG it is hard to get a true since of stretch, But I would have to say that they stretched about 1 1/2 times their original size since switching the light cycle and they love to produce popcorn buds

The buds in the two pictures are at day 18 and look at all the frost on the leaves! It apears that the red plant is the one producing most of the frosted leaves, So if I was to chose one of the two plants today I would be keeping the red plant as a mother. I have keeped two clones off of each plant and I will be keeping one of them as a mother plant once this grow is compleated and cured.
Now what to do with the other three when the time comes?
I would hate to just kill them!

I defoliated the underside of the SCROG about two weeks ago and already it is loaded with popcorn buds down there, So this weekend one of my jobs is to trim the underside again. And to remove some of the fan leaves from the top side of the screen so that the bud sites are able to get more light.:jump:

The Blumats and Air-Pot are working out great in fact a friend here at IC Barth from Barths Burgers is looking at using Air-Pot and Blumats with COCO instead of soil and this has me thinking of my next grow using coco instead of soil although I have never used coco in either of my grows it just might be my next step.

I am thinking about sticking with the Air-Pots and Blumats for my next grow instead of going back to the DWC. Although the DWC makes for a fast grow durring the veg. cycle the soil is less work and since I'm just growing for my own needs and I still have meds from my last grow. Time is no longer a factor as it was durring
my first grow.
:thank you:

Day 22 of Bloom cycle

Day 22 of Bloom cycle

Today I decided to to some defoliation of the ladies. I know that some of you would say no to this and some will say its OK.

I would like to hear you option on what I did good or bad?

I found on the last grow that I did in this cabinet that the foliage got really dense since the branches can not spread out like they would in a room. I felt that it blocked the light from penetrating down to the lower bud sites, So for this grow I decided to remove some of the fan leaves and give the ladies more light.

I trim all my excess fan leaves off, doesn't seem to hurt a bit. The leaves connected to buds themselves stay, and they will fill out the spaces quickly.

gd,I have a small side by side going with one plant defoliated and its clone-sister not defoliated. The one with leaves is doing better. The main cola is larger and her shoots are advancing where the defoliated plant diddn't make shoots.
I have a differant situation than you bro,and I pulled a ton of fans off the Aca Kush I grew.I dont know if I did harm or not.
I think you did a good thing and the plants look great.
Do they smell good?:canabis:

Thanks PineBoy I just hope that I did not stress them out to much although the Lady Berry seems to have handled the defoliation that I have done before well in-fact this strain seems to handle stress well.

The FMS Lady Berry Kush has a nice citrus smell.
