Thanks Biatchzxz, I will be giving it a couple more days to see if any tiny white hairs start to appear or if it starts to cluster up.
GeorgeSmiley sent me a link that has really nice picture of a male and female preflowering plant.

What are preflowers?

FMS "Lady Berry Kush" Vegetation Stage Day 38

It is now Day 38 of the vegetation stage and I'm still trying to sex the plants while they are still in the vegetation stage and it look like I'm able to sex 3 out of the four plants.

Starting at the back right of my cabinet. This is the Blue plant and it is starting to show it self as a Female Plant. :jump:

picture.php

Back Right plant. This is the Yellow Plant and it is starting to show its self as a Male plant. Die sucker Die.

picture.php

Front Left Plant. This is the green plant to me this is looking likr another leaf set that is coming out instead of sex organs I will need to keep an eye on this one some more. :dunno:

picture.php

Front Right Plant. This is the red plant and this plant is starting to show its self as a female plant. :jump:

If anyone sees anything different than I do in these pictures please let me know. This is my fist time having to try to sex plants so I could be wrong,

I'm going to pick up some Clonenex gel today and I will be cloning the females before I place them under the SCROG. I do have a question? if I'm going to be placing the plants under a SCROG should I take the clone start off of the main top or off of a branch. Should I top the plant or not for a SCROG? :thank you:

if I'm going to be placing the plants under a SCROG should I take the clone start off of the main top or off of a branch.

The top of the plant is always the most potent. If possible taking the main growing top off of a seed plant is always how I go about making my mothers.

...and really when you top em it will pump up all the other branch's growth

Thanks Pine boy,
After waiting a few days if became apparent that the two were male and last night they got the ax. So now I'm down to female plants and that is the number of plants that I was looking for. My cabinet did a great job with just two plant using a SCROG last grow that I do not think my yield would have improved any more with three plants.

So to cap my grow so far. I tried to greminate 6 seeds and only 5 of them germinated then one died which left me with 4 plants to grow and sex. Out of those 4 two were female, So at least for my Lady Berry Kush seeds I had a ratio of 50/50 which should be normal for seeds.

Today I'm going to open up the Air Pot from the two male plants that I cut down last night to see how the root structure is inside these pots. I will post pictures.
I will also be transplanting the females into lager pots for the duration of the grow.

Yesterday I rebuilt my SCROG instead of the V shape from last grow this time I'm going with a flat screen. I also added shelving tracks to the inside of the cabinet to hold the SCROG in place and to be used for holding drying screens after the harvest.

If you are looking for a low odor plant then the Lady Berry Kush is not destine to be one of your selected plants. Since the first week of the plants being inside my cabinet when ever I open the door I get hit with this amazing fruity spicy smell. I can only imagine how much they are going to smelling when they start to flower.

Transplanting Lady Berry

Transplanting Lady Berry

The other night I chopped down both male plants.
Last night I removed the pots that the male plants were in and removed the Air-Pot so that I could look at the root structure of the plants growing in side the Air-Pots.
What I found is that the roots do indeed gather and terminate at the nipples of the Air-Pots and do not circle around the pot.
I also saw that the driest part of the soil was at the point of the Blumat.

At this same time I also transplanted the girls into larger Air-Pots.

Working with the Air-Pot is a little different than standard pots.
The texture of the Air-Pot is that of a egg carton with holes in the nipple part. So the object is to pack the soil into all the void spaces. The web site said to pack the soil more than you would normally because all the holes in the side of the pots provide the roots with oxygen.

First plant transplanted second one ready.

The two girls have now been transplanted and are back home in their cabinet.
Now I will wait a few days for the plants to get over shock of being transplanted before I take my clones.

A close up shot of the Blumat auto watering device.

This is a picture of the surface roots that are present when using the Blumat device.

While I was admiring the Ladies yesterday I was thinking of how much the two plants resemble each other.
If I had not started them by seeds myself I would have thought that they clones.
I would like to thank radvancan of Field Marshell Seeds for creating such a stable new breed.

Hi gdbud, I see you are growing in Air-Pots, how are they working out for ya? I just transplanted all my plants into 10 Ltr Air-Pots (soil). Any tips, i soaked everything today when I watered, had a few air gaps in the soil.
HGO

This is my first time using the Air-Pots and they are working out great so far.
One note that I found on their web site said that you really need to pack the dirt into the all the nipples, that you also need the pack the soil more than you normally would for regular pots and also fill the pots all the way up with soil for the top couple inches of the pot the nipples have no holes and this is the water reservoir for the pots.
I hope that you will enjoy using the Air-Pots as much I am.

Welcome back everyone!
Today I took two clones off of each plants. This is the first time taking clone myself so I hope that they take, But if I did miss something up and the clones don't take I do have a few seeds left.

After taking the clones I then put the plants in to bondage by tying the tops down so that they layed horazontaly then I placed the SCROG over the top of the plants.

In a few more days after I see how well they are doing after taking the clones and the bondage job I will be changing the light to the HPS and the light schedule.

BIatchzyz, Thanks for stopping by. This is my second grow using this cabinet, But I have found that no matter how well you design or set up a grow area you are always working on improving it.

Up date with pictures! OK really only one picture.

picture.php

So this is day 50 of vegging these two plants and they have really filled in this screen.
My lights go off today at 4:00 PM, So today I will have to be home to switch over the lights to my 400 watt HPS. At that time I will be resetting the light schedule to run from 3:00 PM until l 3:00 AM. This will allow the lights to run during the night while its cooler and also give me time to work with the girls during the evenings. So tonight and tomorrow the lights will be off for 23 hours then when the lights come back on for their 12 hour cycle the plant will think its going in to fall season and start to stretch and then bud.:jump::jump:

When I upgraded my cabinet for this grow I installed a Kill-A-Watt device. This Kill-A-Watt device keeps an on going record of the electricity usage of my cabinet since I started this grow.
Here is a break down of my electrical usage for my 400watt light, ballast and fans = 570 watts.

Running Hours = 1200 hours = 50 days
Total cost for the 50 days = $42.30
Cost per day is $0.85
Cost per month is $26.35

It has been 6 days since I took the clones I have yet to see any roots poking through the rock wool plug.

So today I changed my light over to the HPS turned on the light and watched it come on. Came back about 30 minutes later opened up the door only to find the girls sitting in the dark.

First thought was the timer switch off it, But was on! had current flowing both to and from the timer. When I changed the light I was wearing gloves and I wiped down the bulb with rubbing alcohol so I know that burn out due to oily finger prints. When I removed the bulb I found the connections that holds the filament assembly to the wires coming from the base had come unsolder.

Returned the bulb to the grow shop and it was still under the one year warranty so They replaced it.
Now my girls are basking under a new light.

I try to keep a cheap Home depot bulb on hand for this reason. Actually i only use cheap home depot 400 hps bulbs. I can buy 3 for the price of one from the hydro shop. Do you find the hydro shop bulbs are better?

gdbud

This hydro shop bulb is the only I have bought. I bought it for my first grow last Dec. Run it for like 65 days removed it and placed it into the original box and in to a cupboard until last night when I installed it for todays run.
But I did remembered that the bulb came with a one year warranty
