Spider mites AKA The Borg

i have used a weak fairy liquid solution sprayed on all over the foliage to eliminatye the dreaded spider mite

Is "weak fairy liquid solution" anything like unicorn blood? I use unicorn blood (hard to get) 'n on top of killing all the mights, my buds come out sparkalishish. I hear leprechaun shit works great as fertilizer.

Wow, good thread. I come to the infirmary to look and learn just in case and did this pay off. I get my water from an outside hose and I guess I brought in some hitch hikers. Doing this for years and now the borg is here. Along with 2 leaf cutters(?) or some kind of worm, pretty damn big I might add. But all has been dealt with as I caught everything very, early. Of course this had to happen in the flower room. Checking things out I just sorta looked up and noticed a leaf I could see thru, real small holes. Well the chase was on.

Rotating grow, so the newest flips were cut down. The main infestation started on 1 plant and every leaf that had any spot was dealt with. Several leafs in a bud all together and a few scattered. Spreading out the plants gave me a better view. The first plant is a week or 2 from cut and from there they get younger. So I'll grow out what I got and what I can. At least not the end of the world for me, as I have clones ready to go after a cleanup. I do have a back up plan when "the store" opens. This could have been a lot worse if it had went undetected even a day longer. Thanx for the thread and the tips. Nite 2 inspection revealed a few leaves to be pulled and I found my 2nd worm. Its gonna be OK.

I use a Mortein Insect & Flea Bomb in the grow area after harvest and before the next run. Kills mites, everything. Follow the INSTRUCTION'S, potentially dangerous.

Spinosad can be effective against Spider Mites?

Spinosad is not effective at controlling mites at normal use rates (Thompson et al., 2000; Cowles et al., 2000; Tjosvold and Chaney, 2001), although at high rates or in combination with some adjuvants it has miticidal activity (Gilrein 2004).

Well according to the people in the WTF is this infestation thread, it seems that allowing some spiders to take up residence in your garden could protect against spider mites. I'm not condoning this, although since spiders like to eat bugs, it makes sense. Mainly, I'm just being silly b/c I"m tired and punchy! We still swear by floramite, however, be careful to not use it if you don't need it, b/c we've been hearing about new super mites (much like super bugs) that are becoming resistant to the common treatments . . .

Great info. I happen to have a bottle of Organocide from my outdoor veg/fruit garden. I don't have any bug problems yet, just going into veg. Thinking about giving them a light spray of the organocide just to be safe.

when I had spidermites, I treated them with nicotine-water. I soaked tobacco in water for 1 day and then sprayed that fluid on my plants. Worked amazingly well.

that is some real good info I don't get them much but when I see little tiny webs I go off. Bleach spray down the hole greenhouse

I was just told today to use pure Rosemary oil diluted in water and mist on your plants, supposedly it will even kill the eggs. I used SM-90 and rubbing alcohol and that seemed to kill all the living mites I had on the plants, so we'll see if they return.

I had a mite problem for a minute on some plants I had vegn' and I found that SNS 217 worked great, I sprade each plant thoroughly 4 days in a row and kept the temp down and havnt had a mite problem since. and it actually smells good.

Mite Pixels

I had a recent outbreak of these little bastards and captured a couple pix I'd like to share..these must have been a recent hatch and were isolated to just a couple small groups on a Sativa cross I was growing out, and a couple on my Indicas. They are in a small room in which I placed two Pyro bombs and now seem to be al gone. Yes I'll be watching closely for more..DD

ooooo yea i have 48 plants in my 4k vert stadium on day 40 flower and those little fucking spider mites invaded my room within like 3 days, i had tiny webs on the bottom branches, mostly the og's for some reason. i didnt veg long enough to begin with so my yields are hurtin but i couldn't let these assholes diminish the rest, i was so stressed due to limited options and was not about to sponge every single leaf so i bought 3 of those hot shot pest strips yesterday, when lights went out i hung them all up shut off the exhaust and sealed the room for once. only 1 oscillating fan running on low. i woke up this morning to find my plants mite free as of now!!! i need to take care of the eggs though. i don't know if i'll do that again think my RH was way too high because 10 min after i flipped the exhausts rh was 65. crazy..

Has anybody tried Gordon's Azatrol EC insecticide? What volume mixture worked best? How were the results?

I wonder if that is the same thing I just bought, but just a different company. I too just bought something new for mites called Azamax from General Hydroponics. I was wondering if anyone tried it and if so what was the dosage you used? I treat in a one gallon sprayer so the mixture will be for one gallon of water. It has a measure thing on the bottle for either 5 or 10 ml....thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:tiphat:

Ive used it, and have a fresh container of it still in the box. It works. Follow the instructions on the box. Spray when the lights are going out for awhile or at night if Your outside. I thought it was a tablespoon per gallon plus some wetting agent, But I may be wrong
