you can probably go pick some up at your friendly police station.
Haha good one but I doubt that, the police want it passed. Why? So they can keep their jobs! If 19 is passed, the tax dollars from marijuana sales are going to pay their salaries. Yup, the same cop arresting you for "carrying over an ounce" is paying his mortgage with the tax dollars you paid to purchase that bag.

Prop 19 doesn't legalize sales, and tax dollars are only going to happen on a limited basis... And there is going to be a loss of federal dollars if 19 passes, certainly the police don't want that to happen.

You might want to do some research. Most cops and DA's have already stated publicly they're against this Bill.... So not to be an asshole, I'm betting if you contacted your local DA or Sheriff, they very well might set you up with some signs or some kind of volunteer work getting the word out........

Lol ok JJ you got me, posting signs was a sarcastic joke. And regardless if police want it passed or not, it will be paying at least a portion of their salaries. I understand that legalization has to start somewhere, I just do not like the way this bill is written and I don't think it's such a good idea to take the first chance we (yes WE all love this plant) get. Either way, before it is fully legalized anywhere, it will need to be de-criminalized on the Federal level. So IF or WHEN 19 passes, it's still not going to be recognized federally.

Not true at all. I know alot of republicans who are in favor of 19... and were talking the Glenn beck, rush limbaugh ultra right wing republicans...

You may know a few individual GOP'ers in favor but the party apparatus and far right lobbying groups ARE working very hard to beat this down.

http://www.noonproposition19.com/

That group is run by this lobbying company:
The Wayne Johnson Agency

They run GOP campaigns and right wing initiatives.

So we are clear about who the opposition is....

I don't think it's such a good idea to take the first chance we (yes WE all love this plant)

How many chances do you want?
How many chances do you think you will get?
Legislation/initiatives cost lots of money.

Cannabis rights will only grow with political momentum.
Look at Prop 8.
They had their rights and then lost them.

The gay community has lost years in the advance of their civil rights because of the momentum lost to Prop 8 because of complacence to the issue.

This bears repeating but the far right in CA wants to repeal 215. That is public knowledge.

If 'the majority" vote against cannabis rights the Far Right's case is made for them.
"The people are against it - like they don't want gay marriage, the GOP pundits will say.

Beggars can't be choosers my momma used to say.
Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I didn't live in CA in 96.
This is the only time in my life I've been offered to pull a lever for cannabis sanity.
I'm not going to blow that one chance on a prayer that a "better bill" will magically appear.

Like SB420 followed 215 so will the better bill follow a SUCCESSFUL Prop 19.
A failed Prop 19 gets nothing....nothing but trouble for the cannabis community.

Vote Yes on Prop 19.

grow space of 5x5 with max 1oz harvest and fine of $1,000 +6months jail for going over? no,
thanks.

That is an incorrect statement.
READ THE F'N BILL correctly.
Maybe this whole thread too.

You get to grow all you can in your 5x5.
a pound?
fine.

You can only carry a OZ if you go driving around town.

They are two different reg's within the bill.
Seriously, is some of this just intentional ignorance with an agenda to mislead?
GEEEZ.

Lol, not gonna move over a bad proposition that has little chance of passing anyway... They should have never granted such power to local governments. They should have just said no sales and granted the state government to enact commerce, not the even more corrupt local counsils...

something i was just thinking about....irony....right now its legal medically...but no medical applications are being looked at outside of rick simpson and a few others....once legal status is attained, maybe then not only will we start seriously looking at med applications, but maybe even the herb in the fake 'medical dispensaries will improve!

If 19 passes and you become complient by getting a business license and start paying taxes on the sale of a controlled substance, a schedule 1 controlled substance and start signing tax returns attesting to that fact you'd better confer with a criminal attorney first before doing so. Let him tell you just what can transpire and just how much it will cost you in time and money so that you can be prepared for the worst that can happen. For one hour of a good attornies time might be $500 but it will be the best money you've ever spent. As a defendant in a Federal trial, your expense's will be at least $20,000 and that is if you plead out. Why would you ever put yourself and others in this position? Your signing tax documents under penalty of perjury, you can not plead innocent at that point. Do yourself a favor and ask an attorney if you should become 19 legal and put your future in jeoprody of fines, incarceration and attorney fee's? It sounds more like a trap by the trial lawyers association than anything else as they are the one who will make the big money.

Some good advise here. Anyone starting any company should have at least one if not two attorneys. Though, we need to pass prop 19. Yes the battle is not over, but this will be the second big step toward the greater good. No doubt lots of lawsuits to come after this passes. Things are going to need to shake out.
