Hey AS, yeah the purple AK's are monsters, almost 5' tall and just as wide. They're at week 3 of flower I think now, and they are COVERED in big hairy buds. I'm also seeing really good things out of the Grape Ape cut I have, it's already so frosty and the buds are so fat, looks like a real winner!

The Blue Dragons (Blueberry X Sour Diesel) I have are 3 moms, I took a tray of cuts off them a week ago and they're starting to show roots, but I don't have any in flower yet. They will be in the crop two months down the line, so they have time to get huge.

The current crop is about:

20 WOW
3 Grape Ape
15 Purple Mr Nice
15 Grape Stomper
30 Purple AK-47
6 Purple Gorilla.

The purple gorilla started turning purple at week 2! Crazy stuff, I can't wait to see how it turns out. Will have to take some individual plant shots for you guys here shortly.

Also just got my first clone of Super Silver haze, happy dance!! It's fantastic smoke, but after seeing Dongle 69 get 14# out of 6 lights I had to find some!

Oh and the next crop will be roughly:

15 Space Bomb (Space queen X Tiny bomb)
80 Jackpot
10 PMN
5 remaining grape stompers.

After that I've got the following trays of clones rooting right now:

1.5 trays of Jackpot
2 trays of Grape stomper
1 tray of Blue Dragon
1 Tray of WOW.

I am really impressed with WOW so far, it's very compact, bushy, indica-heavy, and the buds are giant, almost twice as big as anything else the same age. I think she needs a prolonged veg but should do well at any size. I just like em huge!

My flower room is still all lit up, even though I just took down 8 lights of Grape Stompers.
The 88 plants I have in there fill 12 of 16 lights, and I have the 4 biggest purple AK's sitting behind the fourth row of lights all to themselves for now. In a week or two I'll move the veg room into flower and stuff them into a small area at first, they'll be very crowded for the first month until the 88-plant crop comes down. It oughtta be fun!

Weighed up GS last night, came to 6.27# and the buds are FAT. There are so many giant nugs, I have a couple P's of just things that you can only fit two of in your palm.

Hey Lazy,

Ya 6.27 is cool and all.. but just wait till the next few it's gonna be amazing!!! Hope everything gets settled out nicely over there hehe. I had a question for ya:

I'm thinking of trying a foilar with snowstorm, but wanted some advice on exactly how you do it and if you could share any tips/advice for my first time? I foilar often, but never have with that product - I'm currently starting week 5. Also, what was the other product you use in foilar? Any other thoughts on boosting efficiency and nailing the timing with foilars, or any other insights?

Thanks again for all your hard work and commitment.

Thanks man, I'm afraid I've only worked with seeds once, it was years ago and I don't even remember what seed bank I got them from. Try the Bay or Seedboutique.

Glad everything is going well Lazy. I look forward to all your updates. :joint:

Much appreciated! I have been swamped lately but things are returning to normal.

Guys like you (and the rest of ya!) make it all worthwhile, small crops, no crops, or great crops. It's all about the journey and the learning, the crops will come with time!

So Snowstorm, foliar once a week at weeks 4-7 with it mixes with DM Saturator, I use about 3ml/gal SS and 30ml/g Saturator. Works a peach!

super nice

Thanks Doc!
Gracias!! :)

Lazyman, what a great show, I am going to give you the nickname "the hardest working man in grow-biz".

Aw thanks man, I appreciate it!

So as you guys probably heard I had a security scare, I am hoping it was a false alarm, there's more details in the security forum if desired. Been beefing up locks, alarms, ordering camera systems, and have a consultation with a lawyer next week. I think I've done about all that can be done in that arena.

The grow is doing great, the veg rooms is so crowded I can barely walk through it. We're transplanting about 50 of the biggest/best this weekend into 5g smartpots of FFOF mixed with some extra Ancient Forest and EWC.

Flower room, man, it's a jungle. I had a recent thrip re-outbreak so I picked up some Imidacloprid and hit them with a foliar spray, I will add some to each res tonight though to make sure they are good n dead. The buds are pretty huge considering they're at what, about 3 weeks now? They look ready to harvest, frosty and large. Amazing really.

Some notes on each strain:

Purple Gorilla: Only purple I've ever grown that turned purple 2 weeks in. Crazy. Nice looking strain, probably a keeper if the weed is any good (RedSpaghetti swears it sucks though.)

Purple AK, well when you flip a buncha 4' tall plants, you get MONSTERS. They are almost touching the 6' ceiling and are covered with giant buds. I'm excited!

Grape Ape: Not only COVERED with bud, it's also the frostiest stuff I've seen. Gotta get some pics.

WOW: Man what a nice indica, she doesn't stretch much but the buds are probably the fattest in the room. SUper hairy and lush green. A bit longer veg and she'd be an all star!

Taking pics tonight, stay tuned folks!

Dude,

What the hell did you do to get that size in 3 weeks!!!? I've never seen anything like it.. they look to be very healthy, i love it when the leaves are slightly 'canoed' up like in your pics - always an indicator that they're lovin' life. But seriously, can you tell me what you fed them from day 1 flower? Is it the same recipe as you posted before, or did you add a booster at the flip? Any other feeding or climate tricks that you use to get them to pop open so quick? I know i've asked you this before, but c'mon man stop withholding all the secrets, you're making me look like a foolio over here.. I have some OG at week 6 that is barely the size of yours at week 3! WTF?

Glad to see you're really making it happen, it's just incredible bro keep up that good work ;)

Hey Skiz, thanks man! I will do my best to explain, though I have changed my nutrient feeding in the last few crops to one based on necessity more than scheduling. In other words, I go by what the plants need, not what the bottle says (to a degree.)

So, flowering food: Every study I've read suggests that Grow nutes (high in N) are still needed through most of flower, so keep that in mind. I usually feed at least half grow nutes and half bloom nutes the first 3-4 weeks, then cut to 1/4 grow and 3/4 bloom nutes the last month.

AN Bud Ignitor is a good product, I use it the first two weeks and it does really help with flower set. Makes more bud sites. The other trick (which I don't usually do anymore but works great) is to turn off the lights for about 36 hours at the flip. Complete darkness means they are going to go straight into flower.

I start with RO well water, which comes out around 120PPM most days. On top of that I will add either AN Sensi nutes (in proportions above) or GH Maxibloom powder to get the feed up to about 600 PPM. I like the Maxibloom, a LOT. It is cheap, super easy to use, and has a nice and balanced NPK ratio. It also lowers the PH which saves on PH down products. So now we've got about 500PPM of straight food, 600ppm total.

On top of that I'll add about 1ml per gallon of:

GH DIamond Nectar (humic acids)
DM Zone (keeps dead res, no nasties growing)
Dynagrow Protekt Silica
GH Floralicious Sweetener, pineapple rush (carbs and aminos)
H&G Drip clean at 1ml/g

Plus a splash of Superthrive, about 10 ml to 50g.
I also add the AN Bud Ignitor the first two weeks, I think its like 5ml per gallon.

After the first couple weeks I drop off the AN BI and start adding a bit more PK booster (I like GH Koolbloom powder) if they can take more food, but lately I haven't needed it. If they start to yellow at all before week 4 I add more N to the res, either in the form of more grow nutes, or add some dried sea kelp to the res. If it's just a handful of plants I mix up a 5g bucket of N-heavy grow nutes/sea kelp and just pour on a quart or so per plant to green them up. I have also been known to top-dress with EWC under the dripper end on yellowing girls.

The thing is to feed them until you see a touch of curl or leaf tip burn, then back off a bit. Don't increase the food more than 100ppm at a time, I will increase it by 100 then wait 3-5 days before increasing it more. Slow adaptations!

I also think foliar sprays are very helpful, and economical. I just bought a 4g backpack sprayer and I LOVE THE FREAKING THING! It pumps out TONS of spray and is very convenient. I try to spray once a week, but usually it's every 2 weeks. My primary ingredients are:

DM Saturator at 30ml/g
Snowstorm Ultra at 5ml/g
DM Liquid Light at 30ml/g
DM Add.27 Flower at 5ml/g (just a pk booster really, anything with PK in it is fine)
If they are yellowing I'll add some N to the spray (sea kelp, weak grow nutes, or DM Folitech grow)
In the last few weeks I'll add Purple Maxx and/or Gravity at 2-4ml/g

Bugs/PM issues: Every 3-4 weeks I will add some Eagle20 EW for PM (1ml/g) and some Floramite (1.2ml/g) to the mix to prevent mites. Lately I've been having thrips so I'm also using Imidacloprid (Bayer tree and shrub) at 1ml/g too, though don't use this past week 4 IMHO.

Just for the veg nutes:

I basically make a weak compost tea using a pantyhose full of GH Ancient Forest humus, EWC, molasses and mycorrhizae. I will add a bit of liquid grow nutes or powdered sea kelp to this for a better balance, some H&G Roots Excelerator, Superthrive, silica and some Liquid Karma.

Whew, I think that's it! :)

Hope that helps buddy!

looking great lazy. quick question. i have been seeing a lot of people saying they add mycorrhizae to their soil, or into a tea. i was just wondering what stuff do you use? i want to order some, just cant seem to find the right stuff. thanks a lot, and the grow is looking phenomenal.

Damn, your pics are usually the highlight of my day. I've got to ask when do you start counting flower days? At flip or when you first see buds develop? They just look further along than 3 weeks to me. How long do these lines usually run?

Thanks for sharing sir. You're always welcome around these parts.

I start counting at the flip, I usually see pistils and small buds within a week of the flip.

Thanks Green, much appreciated! Yep they're pretty advanced for their age, but for some reason my room makes every strain pretty speedy. I've had several strains throw amber trichs at 42 days! Most of them are 55-60 day strains, some are 63-65 day so all pretty close. No sativa-heavy crosses, at least until I get my first crop of blue dragons in there, those look to be a pretty sativa-heavy pheno.

Thanks man, I get some local stuff called Greengrow (maybe greengro?) but it's straight mycorrhizae. Sometimes I use the small/cheap jars of Rooters Mycorrhizae, but I think they are about half sand so be sure to use that stuff in a sock or something or you'll have lots of sand in the bottom of your res. The greengrow stuff is not cheap but a pound of it will last me almost a year (since I only use it in veg.)

Incidentally I ran into those guys at the local shop, and asked them about phosphorous levels. They told me that yes, any chem-based P WILL kill all mycorrhize, but if it comes from organic sources it won't.

I don't really buy that, as P is P, whether from bone meal or some other source. But the fact remains, using it in flower is a huge waste of money!

The reason organic P won't affect myco as much is because it is slow release, unless it's already chelated by something. Looking stellar buddy! I like the mesh around the bulbs. After a few bulb burns I went back to horizontal growing.
