a seed only affects the bud if you miss one and smoke it
1 seed is 1 pistil how would you suppose that could affect the whole plant/bud

Good stuff.

Good stuff.

I have to say, after 5 breaks and 3 days ive made it through this entire thread start to finish, 42 pages of great stuff. This was some very useful information and all questions seem to be addressed throughout the thread with anything i could have thought of asking. Just wanted to say keep it up, im sure theres a lot more people that read this then actually post a reply and find it useful, thanks simon. Dont know how i would have figured this out otherwise.

IIRC, some in this thread tried it. I'd be interested in knowing how well it works, too.

Hi got it yesterday and I actually like it better then the Caliber it is easier to read and sits right on top of the buds in the jar. Since I use dark glass. I have to open the jar to take a reading.

It was close to the Caliber in reading straight out of the box. So I havent Calibrated it yet.

Read 61% at 69F in a jar of 3 month cured bud.

Been using the method for this Harvest Great Results. Everything is nice and smelly. Sometimes I have Bagged to wet and got the hay smell before but this takes the guess work out.

Great guildline to work off of.

well i'm at week 6 of curing now(with another meter , gonna buy the caliber soon

anywho when i was in the 60-65% zone , i kept opening the jars daily , untill simon, told me you only need to open it once a week , wooops

i think this kinda interfered with the curing process

the buds still look good and smell good but the smell and taste aren't as strong as before i'm now gonna leave the jar closed for a few weeks and check how it looks then

Just wanted to say that i ordered another brand, as an Caliber III isn't available here in Germany.
I ordered the Angelo digital thermo/hygrometer, it has won a few comparison tests in cigarmagazines, should be very accurate. Best part is it's available in Germany for 15-20 Euros. I'll be back with experiences after i tried it out.
In the meantime i hope this helps some fellow european growers.

Simon, I'll ring in here with everyone else... MAJOR KUDOS for posting this.
I'm at the end of my first grow. Will be chopping this coming weekend.
Not sure on yield yet, I'm guessing 2-3lbs.
I ordered 3 Caliber III's and a half dozen 1/2gallon Mason Jars.
I live in a pretty arid climate. I'm guessing 2 days of drying, then into the jars,
but will monitor and adjust as needed.
This thread was EXACTLY what I was looking for and needed, being completely newb to growing and not having anyone local who knows anything about it. THANK YOU!

I'll keep y'all updated!!

great thread simon!

does anyone of you use an analog hygrometer instead of a digital one? would be nice if you do not have to care about batteries.

Had an hermie in my last harvest (around the beginning of the flowering).
The plants that got pollinated tasted a bit weird and the hermie plant didn't taste good. Also the smell was probably affected.

Anyway the high was definitely there! :)

After some curing the taste got less weird but not tasty as the less pollinated plants

You committed all the above to memory, even though you were high at the time. :joint:

What do you have to do around here to get a thread stickied? This absolutely deserves to be seen by more people.

Just wanted to share my opinion after using Calibers 2 times now. I love using them, but my jars are at 60% and personally I think it is a tad too dry. For me, it is good because I vape...but for smoking or selling I think it is a lil too dry. Anyone else think 60% is too dry? They have been in jars for about 2 weeks, and are going through the lack of smell phase. I think I might dry for a day less next time, and bring it down to 65%

I dry in my tent, with my exhaust fan on low. Drying time 4 days about, to get around 60%. Simon, what seems to give you the best results? Thanks!!
