Ernst, your advice has not caused harm, instead it has given me the basis for going natural over chemical ferts, so I guess you are entitled to worry over the kids if you so choose. I really don't think you have to worry though, the genetics are pretty solid. I would have to try to screw this grow up.

Here are some pics from today.

Turloco 2 in the 3 gal smartpot doing great.

The watering today was accompanied by tea made from 1 c. used coffee grounds, 1/2 c. kelp meal, 1 c. alfalfa feed pellets, 1/2 c. dry crumbles bubbled for 18 hours in 5 gal water with 5 T. molasses and 5 T. 5-1-1 alaskan fish fert. Smells like organic goodness(?).

Thanks for stopping over this weekend. Enjoy your 4th. :)

Roaming T2 Spotted In Southern California

Roaming T2 Spotted In Southern California

There has been a new development in this test grow. The Turloco #2 plant in the smartpot has gotten adventurous. Tired of the same sights, she went on walkabout in the garden. We will check out some of the various sightings that were caught on camera this morning.

Here she is becoming overwhelmed by wanderlust.
picture.php

THe first report ofthe wayward tramp has been photoverified. Here she is shown hanging out with the BOGO clan.
picture.php

What, another sighting has been reported. Off to the location to catch a pic before she splits again. A quick snap of the reunion with her siblings. She'll probably take off pretty soon, the full sun spot isn't really her thing.
picture.php

A couple cousins (Turloco #1) popped in for this photo op.
picture.php

Tiki Jo's have been wondering if she will come visit them, but no sign yet. Where could she have gotten to? Proof positive, she is running amok, no itinerary for this excursion, but here are the Tiki Jo's anticipating her arrival.
picture.php

picture.php

Breaking news - T2 may be lost! Back to the spot where she was seen earlier with siblings and cousins confirms that she has moved on. The anxious family shown here.
picture.php

Lets check with one of the BOGO's and see if there is any news.
picture.php

T1 in the planter reports she has shown back up in the hood.

In for a better view of the travel-weary gal.

Stay tuned for more coverage of Tessie the Traveling T2 Tramp's chronicle.:fartyparty: Whispers have been heard about what is causing Tess to need to get away. Speculation is that Sour 60 is offending her nose. Does this really look like it can smell that bad?

Woah and I worried.. ( at first ) You had my bloodshot eyes glued to your post!

Are you saying (he/she) needs to stretch it's roots now and again?

I was worried that someone had walked away with it,,

My my they are sturdy and the T#'s do branch. I wonder just how big they will get..

Tessy had better find a home! That Smart pot can't last forever!

The final trip of Tess the traveler

The final trip of Tess the traveler

Tess has made her last foray into the rest of the yard. She has put her roots down in a 15 gallon pot on the porch.

Might as well get out the photos from her trip to share some sights.

Here she is hanging with the Tiki Jo's.

Next door with an Indica Mix gal.
picture.php

Over the other direction, she is shown with the Bubba and White Russian bagseed crew. Another Indica Mix on the right side.

Lets see if a well travelled gal can settle in and get to work producing massive flowerage. Only time will tell. :)

Thanks for visiting.

And I thought I had a seed farm..

You have an International yard my friend.. I was ready for some chips and Salsa there for a minute.

And my how they have grown..

Any bets? 4 feet 5 feet? SIX??

K

kannubis

I am figuring 4 - 5 feet should easily be achievable without topping. They will have another month probably to veg before daylength tells flowers to start forming. Christmas trees in October sound like good things to chop down. Mid-May germ to early July growth has been good. I like the way the branching varies in the genetics. Some will be single cola monsters, while others will come out with multiple pinecones hopefully; a nice mix of flowers is expected at harvest time.

No Mexican Sativas this year, but next year I want to run at least a couple to bring some new strains into the pool.

7.10 pic update

7.10 pic update

Welcome one and all. This episode of my test-grow report has some new pics and I think 3 males have shown out of the 13/16 germed plants. One each of Turloco #1, Turloco #2, and BOGO. Both Tiki Jo's are female, and the rest appear pistillate too.

No individual captions for the pics, I will just throw them up to see.

They got a tea feeding this morning with a 15 hour brew of used coffee grounds, unused coffee grounds, kelp meal, Alaska 5-1-1 and molasses.

Enough words, here's the shots.

They got their asses kicked

They got their asses kicked

Welcome to the day after the monsoon in so cal. We got the kind of rainstorm that would have put up disaster warnings for flash floods if anybody had predicted it. 20 minutes of heat lightning and midwest thunderstorm conditions that I have seen only one other time here in the last 8 years.
Here is the knocked over plants in planter shot.
picture.php

A better view of the water falling.
picture.php

More of the carnage.
picture.php

Just to end the post on a good note, here are the morning after planter pics. The hardpan in the yard was wet down 2 1/2 inches when I pulled a test shovel out.
picture.php

picture.php

Only had to stake 2 of the BOGOs, the rest of the plants held up on their own. I wonder how long before they are screaming for water again.

Vote yes on RCTC 2010; For The Win in 2010. :tiphat:

The Evolving Scent is a quality of my seeds. LOL Sounds so official.
I expect whatever they do here that they will smell great!

I'm wondering how the Up of the BOGO and the Forgetful of the WhiteRhino will mix.
The WR didn't smell like Fruity Pebbles. In fact it may have been an older release from GHS so the genetics might be slightly different than what is available now..

"I Get by with a little help from my friends!"

Looking good..

Sunday morning

Sunday morning

Ernst, the kids are getting stinkier. BOGOs are putting off a skunkier note now. Tiki Jo's have that spicy kind of scent vs the skunky or musky smell. Turlocos have lowest odor for now. Its kind of generic MJ scent, no real individual notes that pop up.

Just sticking a couple new pics up for now. Put up some burlap for shade over the planter to give them less stress. A couple more Tiki Jo's went in the planter too.

Enjoy the nice weather. My plants sure are.

Yes on prop 19; FTW in 2010.

Sounds about right. Keep a nose out for Pepper scent. I never figured out which plant did that Black Pepper scent. I smelled it but it was a fragile effect and not the strong scent of the plants. I thought it was the Turloco but the growth was so dense in the box i didn't want to bend all the colas around just to find out.

I <heart> home de pot..
Damn man shits looking good.. I am so damn envious of your cool yard grow!

I think the majority of pollen for these Tiki-jo F2's came from a "Sweet" Tiki-jo male but as you already know but your readers don't there may be as many as 5 pollen donors so you may have some unique plants. It's an off breeding. Still I bet it will please.

It was the "Bonus" Pack so to speak.

K

kannubis

They were all bonus packs. Great genes to work with can only be described as "BONUS". I am stoked that I get to grow them out.
Funny, that spicy smell I was referring to could be called peppery on the Tiki Jo's, its from the stem rub and stays for a while on the fingers.
They got a tea feed this morning too. Coffee, kelp, alfalfa, and dry crumbles bubbled ~16 hours.

You have F2's from 4 mothers. I have kept two of the 4 mothers and was sad to let those F1's go but no more room is no more room.
Maybe then the middle row Mum that got the chop was the pepper. It was counter productive to move the colas around as they would overpower the area with scent once they were being molested by moving them around.

I added note on possible pepper to that F2 sack-o-beans..

I think Humidity boosts your plant's spirits..

thursday morn pics

thursday morn pics

I definitely think the humidity helps out. Dry heat is not so good for the plants, I got a bunch of sunburnt leaves due to the heat wave(normal weather here) before the rain. Afterward, no more leaf damages occurred. They have been getting watered twice as heavily as before the rains.

Left is Turloco #2, right #1. Wider branching structure shows up on males and females of #2. Makes me think mother #2 was branchier than mother #1.

BOGOs in the planter.

Turlocos #1 & #2. Nearest row T #1, fem left, male right. Next row T #2, fem left, male right.

T #2 Tess is the tallest and widest of them all. Smart pots may be great for vegging? Or she just grew from her travels in ways the rest can't understand.
picture.php

Tiki Jo, a few views. And a cat. I call him my buddy. He has at least 2 other names that he doesn't respond to, but he follows me around so I call him my buddy.

The 2 you can barely see just below centerline are Tiki Jo's that went from the cab to the planter last weekend. Lets see how the outdoor light works to get them going.

Keep it green. Enjoy your summer and stay out of trouble. :tiphat:

Sweet!

You are right on the Turlocos. The Mums were Feminized White-Rhino and they did grow different and their smoke was different. Slightly so but still a different high.
I wish i remembered which was 1 and which was 2 here smoke wise but one was Meaty and one was Giddy-happy. I want to say it is number 2. But one of them was Laugh-my-ass-off effect.
So there is a difference between the two. Now how that combines with the BOGO I don't know. BOGO f1 was a get up and go power walking kind of event.
Local Couch-locked testers complain that it made them anxious. I just grinned because I told them before the test it was a power walking experience. "Get up Stand up and go out for the night" LOL!

Keep them hydrated.. Your garden inspires me. Mulch will aid in humidity if it is watered too!

Sex has been determined on all plants

Sex has been determined on all plants

This past week has given a new insight on the plants. All have now shown sex. Males will be kept a bit longer in order to collect pollen for storage and later use on the gals.

All 4 of the Turloco #1 plants have nuts. 2 of the BOGOs have nuts. 2 Turloco #2 plants have nuts. I will germ the other 6 Turloco #1 seeds tonight to get a female or more to use the collected pollen on.

3 of the last 6 Tiki Jo seeds that got germed have survived the heat. 2 are in 2 gallon pots for later putting in the ground if female, 1 is in the planter and not as big as the ones in the pots. Here are the 2 in pots, along with a tub of PLKs to sex and plant if fillers are needed.

picture.php

I took cuts of the females and put them into a new bubble cloner that I put together yesterday. Here's a couple pics of the cloner in the cab.

picture.php

picture.php

The Tiki Jo's have different shapes and scents. #1 is less branchy and has a peppery eucalyptus aroma. #2 is bigger, branchier, and has a strong strawberry fruity scent. Pics of #1 first then #2.

picture.php

picture.php

Here are the Turlocos in the hole in the patio. The one on the left is female Turloco #2.

picture.php

Here are the planter pics. 2 BOGOs are female. The T#2 in the 15 gallon pot is male.

These are going to make some really nice flowers, and there are more getting started too. I love the range of smells from the 4 different packs you sent me to test Ernst. Variety is the spice of life, but I will be going with the best effects choosing the ones that get run from the mothers in the cloner now. Yield is not as important to me as quality, and there is great potential in the ground already.
