Ya Brock Division One record in college career 160-5. Carwin Division 2: Ranked #2:comfort:

And Carwin hasn't had to use one single bit of his wrestling and finishes fights where as Lesner only wrestles and has technical wins with pussy ass rabbit punches. I say Carwin knocks him out as he deserves.

KK I wouldnt laugh so hard... I have rarely ever seen a fighter run like Brock did the first round and he was saved by Carwin punching himself out on his face... lol. Was a fun fight and turned out just about like i suspected. Brock couldnt have been dominated more in the standup.

I definately agree brock won. He didnt win in dominating eye popping fashion though... I think its simply a matter of time before his jaw is exposed. I didnt even think Carwin caught him cleanly...

I was pulling for Carwin

If the UFC wants to pump up the HW division, then they need someone who can beat Lesnar

Pretty much the same reason why Andre the Giant was not forever HW champ back in his wrestling days....Fans will get bored of seeing the same guy win, time and time again.

Dana White knows this, and the only person that could draw interest in a Brock fight again would be for him to finally get Fedor.

Who else can possibly stand up to Brock? The guy is so big, it looks like he could wrap his arms around a full sized fridge.

Congrats to Brendan Schaub... I love this guy.. I was pulling for him on TUF, I think he has got some serious skills.. Where the hell is Bigcountry? Should he not be fighting fulltime on the cards now

DD just a matter of time imo. Brock's standup looked absolutely horrible. I didnt think he won the fight as much as Carwin gassed out and gave up. I agree though Lesnar needs to fall ... hopefully soon. Cain should be a good fight again Brock will be completely reliant on his ability to take down Cain and control him. Cain's cardio is also not suspect.

I agree with that.

I honestly thought Carwin was going to win before the fight.
That's the nice thing about MMA as opposed to boxing, way more surprises.

Enjoyable fight card. Props to Leban for two wins in two weeks.I never saw Akiyama losing this.I noticed Burton Richardson in Lebans corner, score one for us JKD guys.

The Bonnar fight was the only other pick I got right.I just wish Bonnar would showcase more of what Carlson sr. taught him.

What can I say about Brock/Carwin? Carwin had him in the first.A better gas tank and we'd have a new champ. This fight will only propel Brock to improve even more.I dont see him being beat any time soon.

Me too.. I was screaming 'kill his ass' LOL... I am starting to like brock more in time but the dude really offended me at UFC100. I think hes a monster athlete but I think last night it was pretty exposed that he is scared of a true fight or brawl. As soon as he started taking a little damage he seemed to literally run. I was shocked, expected Shane to be better on his feet. I also think the takedown attempt of Brock in the first round that Shane brought to a draw was interesting and may have cost him(Shane) a ton of energy.

Id like to see a rematch at some point. I was really disappointed in Shanes cardio but I guess when you never get out of the first round you simply arent prepared for a second round lol. Kinda sad but soon as he came out I knew he was punched out. Looked like one of those heavyweight TUF contestants =(

Gotta say I was pretty shocked by that headliner. Midway through the first round things were going exactly how I figured they would - all that was left was for Brock to quit. In his previous fights it became obvious that Brock does not like to get hit and I figured with him getting hit by Carwin he would just tap out and quit. He really surprised me, took a load of punishment (that first round was a clear 10-8 in my eyes), regrouped and came out with alot more wind than Carwin in the second. Like you guys said - Carwin blew his load and punched himself out. Alot of strikes wern't landing clean, just grazing, but he still did alot of damage. If he had more of an opening and Brock didn't cover up so good the fight would have been over in the first I think. Brock winning by submission was long shot to me, something I never really considered. I seen a situation like that being just as likely as it going to the final bell which was pretty slim. Huge surprise.

Both men really impressed me though and hopefully earned alot of respect from the fans. I see Carwin taking alot away from this loss and coming back a much better fighter than he is now. He's a very smart dude and I think he'll only get more hungry. A rematch I'm sure will be inevitable - there will be alot of money in it - and it's not like Brock walked through Carwin or anything - he was the one getting dummied. As for Brock, he showed his heart and his chin big time and I think he's really been humbled by his illness. It was nice to see the respect he showed Carwin. I've always been very critical of him, not so much because of him himself but because of alot of his idiot fans hyping him up way too much and the easy route to the title he was given. He's done alot and improved his game alot in a very short period of time, there really arn't alot of people who can do that at the same rate as he has, but it just drove me nuts all of his fans claiming this and that when he is still so young in his career and really hadn't showed any skills at all besides wrestling up until last night. He's the number one guy now but he's still not the greatest and he has a long long way to go to get there.

Who's going to be the man to beat him now though? I really don't know. The only way it is going to happen is for him to get pummeled again but to go down for good. Good striking is the key but if Carwin's mits didn't stop him then who's will? Again, I don't think Carwin was landing a whole lot of clean blows and he got tired quick so that's a factor but the man has a great chin regardless. Which is good because he's going to need it. Velasquez and Dos Santos both have much better striking than Carwin but not the same power and they're both undersized. I really don't know. I'd still pick either guy to beat him today, as I would Carwin in a rematch but I wouldn't be too shocked to see him beat them as well. Carwin, Velasquez, and Dos Santos are the three guys I currently see having a more successful run than Brock in the long run. The future of the division should be very exciting and it all starts with Cain which probably won't be until the end of the year / new years card. I'm sure Brock is gonna want to let his head get a nice long rest.

And Leben submitting Akiyama? Fuck me, that's another one I never saw coming. Props to that cat for taking two fights in two weeks and having the sense to submit him instead of working to get it back to the feet. Alot of people think Leben is a dummy brawler and nothing else but he was a legit toolbox and he uses his head when he needs to like he did last night. That he had the smarts to realize that Akiyama was letting him get away with moving his legs up like that and to capatilize on it is a big testament to his cage iq. Definitely looking forward to his return - possibly against Wanderlei. And for Akiyama - I'm just happy and hopeful that the rediculous "Sexyama" craze dies down.

Lastly, Sotiroplous (sp?) is probably looking at a step up in competition now. I think his game is getting overblown big time since his win over Stevenson and he's nowhere near ready for a title shot, but he definitely deserves a fight with a guy like Jim Miller or Tyson Griffin.

Great show, peace fellas!

:yeahthats

I was not a Brock fan either but it had more to do with his fighting style (basically just out-gorillas people) than his attitude. Playing the heel at UFC 100, well, that was just an ill-advised throwback to his WWE days.
I'm actually starting to like Brock more now. Hes more respectful and humble after his serious health issue last year - that was almost like an act of God taking him down for his hubris.
He showed a good chin and toughness to weather Carwin's storm. And coming back to win by submission, that was heart.
Of course, Carwin shares the blame for this one too. To be on the verge of winning a title and gassing out by the second round, that's shameful. He comes from a wrestling background (where cardio is critical), he had several months to train for this fight, and he punches himself out by the second round? If that's his issue, one round and done, then i dont think he can ever be a serious champion, no matter how hard he hits.

fedor needs to come to the ufc and beat brock. as brock is charging like a bull fedor is just gonna uppercut him and ko him with a 1 hitter quitter. fedor has quick deadly hands. i would also love to see fedor vs. carwin.

Carwins response to fight:

He showed the heart of a Champion last night. Most men would fold under that kind of pressure.

I really appreciate all the support and messages. I am honored to have had the chance to fight for the belt and will be working my ass off to get another shot.

There are a lot of deserving fighters out there and now it is Cain's turn to see what he can do. I will be back in the mix soon enough.

As for my health, I am good. My body began to seize up towards the end of the 1st and it was totally locked up in between rounds. I told my Coaches I could not move my legs. I have never felt like that before in my life. I had to answer the bell so I did what I could do and went out like any warrior would do and tried to fight through it.

Being a Champion is about living and fighting through adversity. Brock Lesnar has done jsut that, not only in coming back to submit me but throughout his medical struggles too. I hope I can earn another shot someday.

For me I am going to do a signing today and then head home to be with my family and spend a little quality time on the lakes in my Malibu Boat. It has been a long camp and a even longer set of camps waiting for this fight. I need a rest.

Thank you to my coaches, sponsors and manager for everything you have done and continue to do for me. You guys have made this a fun journey and one I would travel anytime.

My goal is to win the UFC Heavyweight Title, I want to be the best fighter on the planet. I will be working hard and doing everything I need to do to earn that title.

For now I will settle for loving father, husband and loyal friend...

Naw, he's saying they were "locked up"

thats what happens when your out of gas.

lactic acid builds up and your muscles feel "locked up"

that is what it looks like he is saying. he has never gassed that hard before. if that is the case then carwin is far from ready to be champ!
