hey guys quick question is 4k watts of lights (5k watts of power) too much in that area? just curious. this is just a hypothetical.

i've never heard of anyone getting in trouble cause of Heat Detectors or Using Too Much Electrical in the US. Is this a problem over in New England?

Quick question for whom ever.. whats a good cheap material for a wall of a grow room? was going to go with foam insulation.. any good material to use... trying to keep cost down... spend too much buying not enough growing lol

Semi gloss white paint (with plenty of drying time). Or, survival blankets that you guy at an outdoor outfitter (silver Mylar film) works well too.

I've read a couple different things on this. Flat white or semi gloss, but not gloss. I think the flat white would work the best.. I might have been high when I wrote that (imagine that).

Hang a layer of tarps and a layer of black and white poly on the inside.

Some bud shots of something I was told was G-13x. No way to know for sure, I acquired them in trade. Good indica smoke, not sure it's g-13 tho'.

Slow vegger, and medium yielder. Will not grow it again. Snowdog BX 1 is much better. Will be starting some Double Dutch and Blockhead F2's within the next two weeks, to grow along side the SD bx 1.

Was curious where ya get the black and white poly?? only at a hydro store? also with poly and tarps.. any one conserned of fires? yikes.. didn't want to say but lights get hot man.. still trying to do the attic grow.. but portable AC either not keeping up.. it kicks off and on.. anyone know of this? just bought some rigid 4" flex duct maybe that the prob. talk to ya later keep it going

You can get 10 ft x 100 ft rolls of black and white poly at hydro shops, it's about 100 bucks. If you can find white painters plastic that'd be much cheaper, but the b&w poly is definitely worth it as it's way thicker and just nicer.

As far as tarps and poly... yeah they'll burn just like most things on planet earth will if set on fire. I used em (in an attic grow, nonetheless) for years, as have friends, and they are just fine. My last grow was in a huge attic loft and I just hung the tarps to form the outer layer of the room, and used the black and white poly along with gorilla tape for making the inner layer. Lay down carpet on the ground (sound buffer) and then a layer or 2 of black and white poly for the floor. Easy, instant all white grow room, as large as you need, for maybe a couple hundred bucks. You can easily slice holes for ventilation, or whatever else you need. In an emergency you can have everything down in maybe 30 minutes.

Damn thanks lloyd... How you do with your attic grows? I know you wanted me to get the 2 hose deal but found a steal for 90 bucks.. now can they shut off because air too hot?? its like 100-105 degrees at most times.. haven't had AC run all day yet.. need to tie new ckt into elec panel. but if you can please help out with a few questions will appricate thanks. you have vent fans besides ya port Ac? don't want to exhaust the cold AC air. will prob have a vent fan inside each grow box I make. but still trying to remove hot sun beating on roof.. did you have to put insulation on roof to cool? sorry for the long post.. getting very close just put floors down.. and going to have a quick wall to minimize space to cool hope 8 or 9Ks Ac can help hope to hear soon

No problem at all...

If you are in an uninsulated attic it's gonna get really hot this time of year no matter how you cut it. Don't beat yourself up, but make sure to set yourself up for a nice fall grow when it cools down... Summer sucks for growing around here for most people, let alone a big grow... Don't worry about the AC, run it for as long as you need to. My standup has probably been on for the last 3 months straight, and it's still truckin. What I did at the old grow was set up my AC so it was the intake, if that makes any sense... So any air coming in was AC'd air. Aircooling all of your lights is probably the next best move you can make to combat the heat. Pump the heat from the lights right out an attic window. Finally, try staggering your lights (during the 12 hours on-time) so they all aren't running at the same time, but there is still plenty of light in your flower room.

For 8k you will definitely want another AC... the rule of thumb I was taught when first learning was 12000 btu (AC) for every 3-4k (lights). That's far from precise, though.

thanks lloyd and everyone helping.. ya I am stressing it.. but by the times my nerves break It will be fall hahahaha, I am definately looking for some nice buds and grow.. have just about all except a booster fan , and definately whould love some CO2, and when I get better at growin some good seeds, I will keep working on this mind has lots of ideas just need to get cash and get going.. well I hope to get this going..
