wow man you are really going at this adventure full speed ahead. wish i had started digging my holes earlier. still waiting on my fold able shovel to arrive. making holes with a hand held hoe and a pocket knife/saw is too slow lol.

how did you get all the soil in to the forest?

anyway just wanted to say what an amazing thread this is, i love your tree grow. that's some classic thread material. did you consider a small battery or petrol powered pump to transport the water up the tree when you need to water them? do you secure yourself when you climb up with the earth or the water?

i think you are very wise to put plenty of plants in each bed of soil you make, that way you have better chances of great phenos and at least some females in every place.

taking a seat for this show, puff puff pass :joint:

Has been raining here for 6 days now and i havnt been able to go out and check on my lady's... Have copper wire around all of them but skipped the feramol as well, had some trouble with it before. The slugs like it soo much, it attracts them to the spots I used it on but i guess if u use enough of it it attracts and kills them all....

Just hoping my plants are big enough to with stand the slug attacks. Put another 60 Auto beans in soak yesterday, amongst them 10 Finx x Perkeruhder, and they are being planted out sunday. Pray for sun my friends! (after you had that rain you wanted that is.)

Keep up the good work my friend.
Hey wassup man!

I have not really had that much slugproblems yet, so I won't take any precautions towards them before they get annoying. We don't have the "killer slug"(Iberiaslug) here.

60 Auto beans in soak sounds awesome:jump:
Yes I have had my rain now, and the sun is shining again today.:).

Keep ut the good work you to0 buddy.

BOM[B/] I feel your pain...We always have to worry if it's not slugs it's deer or something lol...

When i say ample i mean it needs a long time to decompose and is only best when used in the fall for next years planting...

If u can't get guano try to get some alfalfa pellets at the pet store make sure it's the one without salt...It should be pretty cheap as i'm cheap.I like to find stuff thats good but cheap...
High inpotitrust:wave:

Thanks for clearing up my french.... Guess I'll wait until fall with the blood and bone meal.....

I'll try to get some of those alfalfa pellets next time I'm at the pet store. Closest one is a few hours away though, so I don't know when. Cheap is good man. I'm pretty cheap myself. A guy from Florida which I hung out with in Cambodia(Awesome Country!) some years ago used to call me a "hobo" because of the way I looked. I refuse to buy new clothes unless they are really worn out or I get them for free.....
So now you can picture yourself how I look
ha ha ha.
Like shit.......

I mean. I'm not poor, and I'm not rich. I just thing it's so fucked up that it usually is cheaper to buy new stuff(tools, machines, cars, clothes, anything) than repairing it.

What is this world coming too.......... Labour is too cheap in Asia I guess....

Hey Arctic:wave:

damn m8.. was there any damage on the plants?
No, don't think so.he he. Think maybe you misunderstood. This was just the garden with normal flowers.

Hey man. Worrying is a fuckin disease. Good thing we got "medicine" for that..... he he. Once a week sound good I think. The longer we wait to visit the spots, the more exciting it gets when we go.....

Ha ha ha. Making holes with pocket knives and saw's sounds awesome. My old man says that you shouldn't take the most easy solution when solving a problem. And you sure didn't.:respect:

It's good to be efficient too though so a shovel comes in handy. It doesn't have to be big.

I carry the soil on my back. Usually one or two 50 litre bags at a time. If the soil is dry, one can actually carry 3 bags at a time. 3 bags of dry soil is lighter than 0ne bag with wet soil. I run(jog) so I just look at it as excercise. My spots aren't that far off though. I live in a rural area, but there are a lot of forestroads.

I started to prepare this grow in January, so I was pretty prepared. Unless I was so prepared with all the spots I would have never been able to get all the plants out.

I have thought about a pump, but I'd rather look at the treewatering as excercice. Don't want to draw to much attention to the place either.

I don't secure myself. If you look at the branches you can see that it is not a hard tree to climb.

Cool of you to take a seat man!

And that goes for all of you. :thank you:

Have a nice day everybody. I will probably come with some sort of an update soon.

Hey man!

We are all trying to worry as much as we can in here, so please take that optimistic tone elsewhere. he he.

Just joking.

Optimism is the best. Like Øystein Sunde says. If you are a true optimist you should solve crosswords with a pen(non erasable).

Can't wait until you get your seedlings in the ground man.

I have a friend with a porch(wintergardenthing) He lives quite far away. But I visited him around April 20th and gave him this Finx or Pehrk that I had planted that day.

I hadn't talked to him since, but last night I visited him again and the plant had started flowering. He said he had just watered it once in a while, and repotted it once. I thought it looked very good. He was very excited himself, and wanted to grow more next year....

Sooooo. Finally got a chance to visit some spots.

SPOT 6.
This spot was not looking good. This was where I only used reused soil.

One plant was nearly dead, and the two others had not grown much.

Both Royal Dane x Thyphoon
Bomsebilete017-9.jpg

Royal Dane x White Russian
Bomsebilete019-1.jpg

SPOT 5.

Things were lookin great here I think. All plants were there and had grown substantially since I planted them out.

One(probably two) Ovala Rastastaja had shown sex and was Male.

Bomsebilete011-9.jpg

Bomsebilete010-10.jpg

Here is the positive male Ovala R. From the group pic. Its the one furthest down to the left. I only have a crappy cam. So my closeups suck.

Bomsebilete013-6.jpg

SPOT 7.

Thyphoon spot.

Just came back from visiting this spot. The sun is shining again today. Gave them some water cause the soil seemed really dry. Plants were looking very good though.

Two of them, possibly three, are males. I really hope some females will show up here too, cause I want to make seeds at this spot.

Bomsebilete027-4.jpg

Bomsebilete029-4.jpg

Bomsebilete024-4.jpg

When it comes to seedmaking and male plants, I have no experience.

I really didn't think they would show sex this fast, so I guess I have to decide where I want to make seeds and sensi pretty fast.

Is it very important to have a strong male to get good seeds? Stupid question probably.... uh. But for instance: At the Thyphoon spot where I have two males, should I chop the slowest growing one?

This is just me thinking out loud, cause I kinda know the answer... Just wondering if it's very important to have strong males I guess.

Breed on the biggest males is what I think is wise. Correct?

It's preferable to make seeds from a vigorous and strong male, for sure!

Keep it up

any male should be viable for seedmaking, he will naturally pass on his genetic traits so its wise to choose one or maybe two that has the desired traits you want.

For example you seem to have one male that is slower then the other, the faster one will probably yield offspring with similar traits for quickness. Its going to have to be a compromise between the desired traits. Maybe you should consider using more then one father?

If you dig the father out of the ground and move him some hundred meters from the spot, you can then harvest pollen in plastic bags and pollinate only the females that you want to pollinate, leaving the rest to become sensi. You could put the father in a pot for example, that way he would be transportable. This way you may choose yourself when and how much you want to pollinate. You also get to choose exactly what gets to become parents.

if you want to pollinate at a different location then where the male is, you can take cuttings of branches from the male, transport that branch in a plastic bag from one location to the other and transplant that cutting either just into a cup of water or directly into the soil in a shaded location. That cutting will be able to live and continue to release pollen from the unopened pollensacks for atleast a week after its been cut off the mother, living with no roots in only a cup of water. That branch or cutting may then be used repeatedly through that week and maybe even longer as the pollen sacks continues to open.

Alternative is as mentioned to just shake some dry pollen into a plastic bag (brødpose), transport that pollen to the females in the bag and just either pull the bag over the branch or plant you want pollinated or shake the pollen out of the bag over the female. Make sure the pollen is kept absolutely 100% dry at all times.

The males will release pollen before the females are ready to catch it, it may not be a bad idea to remove the males and let the females develop bud for a week or two before pollination in order to get a bigger harvest. if the males are left in the spot for the duration of the grow, they will continuously release pollen on the new shoots, its possible that a one time only pollination will give a better (more) bean yield then if the plants are allowed to be continuously pollinated through the season because the one time only pollination will likely lead to that more beans are ripe at the same time. However the risk lies in waiting too long with the pollination as the beans needs at least 4 weeks to mature. One must pollinate the females no later then week 3 of flowering, indoor i usually pollinate around day 20-25, outdoor i will probably pollinate around day 15 or so of flowering.. Just before the first trichomes start to show..

i hope my explaining isnt too confusing :D best of luck ;)

oh btw, they are looking lovely m8, good job, love the purple hues on the thyphoon  i cant wait to see buds :D

arcticsun pretty much narrowed it down.

my simple version: if you dont wanna get into hassle, use the quickest most vigorous male, kill the rest dudes. kill the stud after he's done with pollination of the first preflowers (you'll get (bunch) of seeds, or let it go a few weeks more for full seed harvest!

lovely to see them coloring up already a bit, got to head out after i finish my coffee and check up on my girls and take 1 more out with me. every time i see your pics i wish i'd started earlier with making holes and carting earth. one of my problems is that i have to ride my bike out of town and past people walking dogs etc till i get to the quite part. so i can't just have bags of earth openly piled on my bike, have to hide the earth in a back pack. i did finally get my folding shovel/pick in the mail yesterday, so that will hopefully make things easier. i wonder how much earth i should be using at this late stage per plant?

Hey again Gaiusmarius:wave: I like your stories.:)

Last year I was very late with preparations aswell.... Next year you will be ready in time and full of wisdom my friend. I'm no expert, but I think 20-30 liter pr plant should be fine. It's like indoors though. Less soil requires more frequent watering and fertilizing.....

Maybe you should borrow a bike-hanger.....

They are all lookng wonderful

This is gonna be a nice guerillia grow

Thx m8!:tiphat:

I went by some spots yesterday and will come with an update in an hour or two.

glad if i was of alittle help m8. making beans is good fun, growing the beans one has made is even more fun.

Hey man. Last year we had great may and june, and shit july, august, and sept. Looks like it's going to be like that this this year too.
I'm praying to Crom(if you know that god) that we will have a nice August too, but as you say, It's usually good weather here and bad weather there(North) or the other way around......

Yes, I think it looks very nice too. This is a hashloving dude, but he was very excited about this plant, so hopefully he will be a weedloving dude next year.....

"Word up!", as they say in the urban areas of the u.s of a.

Update SPOT 8.

As I feared, Deer had been in the bed with the four Ovala Ratsastaja's. Two were gone, probably eaten. One was doing ok I guess and one was there. We will see if they survive.

Bomsebilete031-5.jpg

Bomsebilete035-3.jpg

The bed 10 meters(the "pussy hole") away with the Pehkuruder and the Diesel Ryder were untouched. The Pehkuruder was a female:jump: It also looks like the DR.(closest) was female, but not positive yet.
