Anyone here use the humidity dome with jiffy starter kits? Everytime they seem to mold up. Anyone else have mold problem with jiffy?
I use a dome for 5 days with Jiffy pellets then remove, no mould problems.

but is this with clones, or from seed?
Clones only, haven't done seeds for ages, so not sure about them.

The directions on the humidity dome say to place all the Jiffys in there till one of the seed sprouts, then prop it open just a tad, then once the majority of the other's sprout, then you take it off....
I just leave it on till all of 'em sprout. JohnnyBhang, just remove the dome a couple times per day to allow for fresh air. Let it air out a tad, and then stick it back on.

I wouldn't use domes with seedlings - there's no point and only creates risk. For clones, personally, I try to avoid them but some will always wilt so I individually dome them with a clear beer cup. I reckon I'll be lucky to get a gram because it was behind my main plants so I've been too lazy to mix up a batch of flower nutes for like, the 40ml I would use on the jiffy, lol. Peace. Lol, Scrubs. That's lookin' good, but I've got to steal the spotlight. The moment you all have been waiting for. Well, maybe I'm the only one that's been waiting, but what ever. Here's my entry. It's still a little chooch, but it'll be growin' bigger shortly! I'ma put it in my Rubbermaid cab when it grows a tad bit more. It's from seed so it's takin' a while to grow. Hopefully it's not a male. If it is, I'll grow it out anyhow. What ev's! Oh, plus, this is prolly gonna be some bammer ass Mexican ditch weed or something. Got it out of a bag of OLD shake from a friends dad that used to grow in ditches. Hahah fuuuu-. Fun times!

Hi all. Fun(ny) challenge! I can't believe the size of some of the plants here grown in pea sized bits of mud The maths is good in theory though, say you get 1.5g per plant using a 5cmx5cm space, you could get 36 in a sqft, which is 54g per sqft, that don't sound bad to me hahaha (I know it wouldn't work really )
I was goin to join in the fun... but I can't seem to get started and wanted to have something to show rather than just put up a pic of a jiffy, we've all seen one of those before I put a seed, on its side, straight into a wet jiffy 4 days ago (made a little hole with a pencil first) and still no sign of anything. I did use tap water, do you think that's the problem? Its been on my windowsill, under the humidity tray, getting lots of light and the lid being lifted a couple of time a day for fresh air. is it possible for the jiffy to be too wet? It does seem to hold water like a sponge. I'll give it another go tomorrow, but I wanted to make sure I do it right next time... should I use mineral bottle water instead and not use the lid? Keep it in the dark or under 24 cfl? Thanks in advance all you kind people, looking forwards to actually having something to show soon

Hey mang. Did you happen to germinate the seed first? If not, it might take a while longer for the seed to sprout. Welcome to the challenge.

lolraymond, didn't germinate first, straight into the jiffy. I got impatient earlier, peeked inside to have a peek, couldn't see it properly but there's definately something going on in there, hope I've not damaged it or anything. I did the paper towel germ thing yesterday on another seed and it taprooted straight up in 24hrs and now in a jiffy too
I'll leave the paper germed one in for this comp as it was free, special kush #1... if it turns out half as big as high country's I'll be sToked! That thing's crazy
