barricade was 100% potassium silicate. it was great for both a silicate and PH up. now they make a 2%.. how many gallons of rhino skin does a gallon of barricade make? And it costs more???? thank god I still have a few liters of barricade. when I run out I'll buy a 55 gallon drum of potassium silicate for under $500, bottle it and label it 100% potassium silicate. wholesale liters for $20. I'll make a killing without advertising or fancy labels, or mention anything but "corrosive". As for those talkin smack about Dynagrow bloom 1 part... Don't even go there. it's probable one of the highest grade ferts out there. do your research.

people were mis-using barricade and called them incessantly complaining.
"its raising ph"

AN had to market around there largely idiot customers.
embarassing really.
yellow bottle doesnt provide the phon numbers to call and get help, so when there customers over-use there product they wont be plauged with calls.

dynagrow is quite good for the price.
i used to use there carbs.

No you didn't LOVE it as you wouldn't really have see a big difference in the actual plant size/growth by using potassium silicate. From the benefit you get out of PS you won't see that much of an external change in the plant compared to other products like sea weed, pk boosters and even sugars.

There are way too more important variables like veg time, system and strain that will determine how the plant looks.

Every liquid potassium silicate product from every hydroponics food manufacturer arrives in a 55gal barrel or bigger tote from any of the 100's of chemical wholesalers out there. Its then bottled down into smaller containers and sold to the stores. Its simple as that. In this industry its done with at least half of the products.

silicate makes stems thicker and more ridgid, its actualy quite obviouse if you know what to look for, and have grown the same strain for a while.

reduces "floppy top" syndrome(with some help of fans)

Not with the amounts you use especially with short crops. Sure you can fill the plant with lots of silicate but then you lock things out. You'll get better stocks by having enough fans to create proper movement of the plants. Building bigger roots will create thicker and sturdier stocks/branches. I never saw any difference with Diesel when using and not using silicate. Doest it help, yes. Will you see a dramatic difference like some manufacturers advertises, no. Maybe if you had a lab set up and everything was perfect but with the way most gardens are set up you won't.

Anyways back to Rhino = overpriced potassium silicate. Why the hell would one spend $90 for 4L of silicate when you can get the exact same thing minus the fancy label and with out having to pay for the Rosebud publishing next shelve over for 1/3 the price or less.

All the deleted posts were done so for obvious reasons.
I'm not gonna choose sides here.
This thread is gaining momentum because AN seems to be reformulating and watering down a lot of their popular products and it's important that threads like this keep folks imformed, not get cluttered by folks calling each other out.
So...what else is AN changing?

Jeez, there you two go again, it's posts like the last two that will get deleted. Calling people moronic is exactly the kind of thing they deleted because it detracts from the debate.

Because you made yourself look that way with the 'moronic' comment. Just the latest in a long line of similar comments you have made insulting others, and nary a whisper of apology has passed your lips so yeah, you look like the bad guy.

you see why I didn't want to moderate, Evlme? I think if GN aka Clowntown aka whoever the shit, should just have his posts automatically removed. I liked clowntown much better than this grow nerd character. maybe he should kill off GN and come back as himself for now on.

I don't understand why that Dutchmaster thread he started wasn't deleted at the same time a lot of posts in other threads were cleaned out.

The guy doesn't give any useful info, just tells everyone they are moronic.

Clowntown was annoying too, but not as bad as his more recent personas.

Either no one complained about him to me or that thread was in another forum and/or moved into here from another forum. Either way, nothing was brought to my attention.
I didn't even realize clowntown was gone, let alone that he is GN lol.
Agreed though, no one likes to be called a moron.

Some of us have had to adjust to getting used to it.

Not on this board as you moderators do an outstanding job. It's with my wife of 31 years who uses this accolade rather often when talking either to me or about me to her women friends.

Among others.....................

Last time I ever bothered to post on this forum I was accused of being "Big Mike" himself simply for having the audacity to suggest that the best crops I ever produced and the best my buddies had ever produced were done with AN...but I would like to chime in on this discussion.

I used Barricade for 2 years and absolutely LOVED the stuff. I had one 1L bottle last me for the entire period of time and it was really thick and goopy like toohigh mentioned. It was probably twice as thick as Carboload to the point that it would hardly come out of the measuring spoon when I added to my nute mix. I always added Barricade as the last thing b/c it worked so well as a ph up, too, which was a nice bonus. Using Barricade would result in REALLY thick, woody, stems and just overall very strong plants. All my buddies used it to and had similar results.

When Barricade was taken off the market and Rhino Skin had not been released yet, everyone of us switched over to Silica Blast. I have been using Silica Blast for about a year now and the results are nothing like w/ Barricade. The plants are strong and sturdy, but the giant thick stems and everything that Barricade resulted in are not present with the Silica Blast.

I have yet to use the Rhino Skin but have been told by friends and the hydro shop owner that it is far more diluted than Barricade was and no one I know has actually switched back from Silica Blast to Rhino Skin now that it has been available for a while. I would be interested to use it once I run out of Silica Blast in order to see if it produces the same results as Barricade did...has anyone that used to use Barricade used the Rhino Skin and if so, were the results the same, comparable, or what?

I just call 'em like I see 'em.

And that is the problem, you see everyone as morons, quite clearly a deluded and incorrect viewpoint. Surely the number of people you have annoyed and the way your rep bar is a black dot gives you some indication that your attitude and behaviour is out of order?
