White Widow Flower pics

thanks guys!

noobian: I think that my widows could have gone another 7-10 days based on; 1 plant had a ton of new calyxes form and they didnt really get the chance to swell and pull the pistils back in, the other two widows had swollen calyxes but i was looking for mostly cloudy trichs with more amber heads. When i chopped they were half cloudy half milky and a very spotty amber head.

From what ive seen most widows can go till day 70+. there are some exceptions.

they can call it whatever they want, and you did grow out a good lookin plant, but thats...
thats...
thats not white widow.
"white strains" dont have purple...#1...
there are so many cuts of mrn "black widow" called white widow flotying around, greenhouse took shantibabas cut and mutilated it...
and now im looking at this...

wow..(not in a good way wow)

real good job growing out that plant though.
looks happy with what you were doing.

im just in dismay at how polluted the genepool is and how worthless names are these days.

hey hippy, I agree that the original white widow is not genetically KNOWN to produce purple. My three widow phenos all looked close in plant stucture and blade arrangement. The big difference came during flowering. Besides the purple, i think its safe to say my other phenos are pretty much classic white widow as many have stated in my threads.
I do agree that the gene pools have gotten real mixed up over the years, with some seed breeders claiming to have a certain strain with a certain heritage, EXCEPT, they've crossed it with some other plant to bring out a specific quality.
But can you really make a firm claim that white strains cannot produce purple pigmented plants?
I don't think of it as a polluted gene pool though... I think it's inevitable that with a plant of nature, man cannot keep a stabalized pool of genetics at a mass quantity. Thats probably why everyone is going for "elite cuts".
just my thoughts on it..

Hola LazerHaze360. Great looking that black widow mate!

I agree, both are really similar.

That clone is a very old WW clone, kept for many years here in my town...i guess it came from GHS.

There are several opinions about the Black Widow and if Shantibaba really bring with him the Original parentals of White Widow..and then GHS had to make their WW seeds crossing other and worst parentals.

Anyway it seems this two in the pics are the same pheno or something close.

I love ww, so delicious....the one I got smelled like fruit punch....but the buds are super small compared to the rest of my plants...a friend has some lemon skunk going, I am anxious to try it but it will be ready in 3-4 weeks plus the dry and cure so it will be a while...

just my thoughts on it..

i certinly found your widow some of the best looking ive ever seen, id say superior to my own even.

PICTURESQUE...

but.. i believe ive worked with cannabis for enough years now to understand what your saying about genepool. theres a few companies that make widow and i tried to specify what cut i had. plus constant seeding the same 2 plants can produce 10's or 100's of genetic combos..

there is a littlecompany...

"oaksterdam nursery" they are distributing 10000's of cuts throughout socal of the shanti/GHS(greenhouse)/MRN(mr nice, aka shantibaba) cut of widow.

after working with this strain for a few years now, ive kind of seen what it can do, ive never seen purple outside of stems. when healthy my cut GLEAMS green.

i was more suprised to see the purple, more then anything.

this is what im used to looking at... so maybe u can understand what im trying to say.
genetic expression is difficult to reproduce sometimes.

so thats what im seeing.

GHS took blackwidow, and made seeds with it also.

White Widow was the original name of the strain, it was only after Shanti/GHS split up that Shanti renamed White Widow, Black Widow. He did that because he did not retain the ownership of the name "white widow" when he left

okay, sounds lagit,

im only curiouse...
why the two 'widows' look so different?

blackwidow vs. white widow. they look different, how is it even close to the same genetics....

blackwidow smells of citrus/lime

whats white smell like?
the purple tells me it might be sweet smelling.

Could just be different phenos maybe? I can't really speak to any of the reasons why they are different but it's probably just some genetics expressing themselves in one pheno but not the other. I can say however that the Nirvana version of WW I just grew looked exactly like the one Lazerhaze posted on the first page. The fan leaves and buds looked the exact same so the genes must be very similar. Mine had a faint citrus smell to them but mostly they smelled of musty socks or sweaty funk. The citrus smell came out if you rubbed the stem or something but the first smell that hit you when the door was open was a musty funk smell.
