hey ottomn, I have an almost identical setup. I was curious what approx do you yield and how long do you veg those for? I do more plants but smaller but am switching to fewer bigger like that. id message you personally but i am not allowed yet. thankyou!

Hi guys, all grows are looking good. How much heat would a 400w HPS give off in a DR80/100. I will be venting into the room the tent will be in as knocking holes in walls in a no no. I live on the ground floor and opening a window isn't practical security wise. Living in the UK the summer sometimes is warm so would heat be an issue in the summer or stick to 400W in winter only.
Or just get a DR60 with a 250w HPS?

You should be fine dude with a 400 in a DR80 that's exactly what I'm running and it's vented into my room and I just keep a window fan in my window and turn it on when it gets warm but I usually just leave the window open and fan on and usually get cold hahah my temps in my tent haven't got over 78 this time since I have the fan in the window.. Before it was 85.. hope that helps
Therealdeal, my suggestion to you is this, if you want to have fewer plants in bigger pots make sure you Veg them BIG, this will ensure your yields will stay the same if not better. I've done a bunch of smaller plants in little pots and they works as well less veg time but more plants to root and deal with. My theory is the less plants to take care of the less stress I will have at the end of the day. I would say veg for atleast a month after your cuts have rooted.
Yields vary for me every harvest because of the strains that I run but usually 1.75-2.25 lbs is the average pull for me. I just got a CO2 boost bucket to add to the room and I am hoping that will increase my yields. In a perfect world I liked to be pulling 3lbs from that tent and I am hoping the CO2 boost will help me reach that goal. Good luck to you man and let us know how it works for ya!

Yea the dude I'm learning from who I get the Blue Dream full melt from pulls 1.5lbs on a 3x3 with a 600! He's in rock wool though and I just can't switch to that shit I hate dealing with it...

Cheers Thundurkel, you've given me food for thought. May just start with a DR60 250w and upgrade during winter to 400w with DR80 and use the 60 for mothers/veg.
I believe he does have CO2 and he runs flood and drain... It makes sense to me seeing that I pulled 11+ oz on my first run and it was a bad one IMO. My Thunder Goo's gave me problems and just wouldn't finish and ended up airy along with my LB#5 that I took down at 6 weeks cuz it wasn't doing anything and just getting worse which I didn't add that into the total. That was with 12 plants and not vegged much so I figure if I veg out 5 plants nice and big I should be able to get 3.5-4 oz a plant I would think. Also that was with me not watering every day or having a coco specific nutrient mix like this time and I'm watering 2x a day feeding each time! They have gone crazy IMO and are the biggest plants I've grown yet, so I'd love to see how I'd do with a 2x2 table in there with either 5 1gal Air Pots on a drip system or 5 1gal Smart Pots on flood and drain...

What is that 18 plants you have going? Am I seeing 9 5gal buckets under each 1k?
Also just curious do you have hole drilled in the bottoms of them or are you old school with it?
Thundurkel, I drilled holes in the bottom of the 5 gallon buckets, but I currently have this run in 5 gal smart pots, my goal is simple 2oz's per plant. I am hoping the CO2 boost will make a big difference tho, it should get here monday/tuesday. I also want to look into a drip system as well, I been hang feeding my coco twice a week for way too long.
Oh yea dude you should for surely see 2 per plant in those, I should be getting 2-3 in my 1gal Air Pots under a 400 and you have 2 1ks it looks like?

ottoman- thanks man that really helps me out. I run the same tent, same light with trays an a table with resivors under them on a recirculating top feed irrigation system. This round I used those air pots and had monsters. way to big. after 2 or 3 weeks I had to drop the number by 12 and actually pulled a little more than usual. same range as yours. so this time im losin the tables puttin them on the ground and puttin a res outside the tent. I think they will get way more light low like that, because my last ones were so close to the lights i had to zip tie the lights to the cross bars!! I dont know if you saw them but i only veged for 10-14 days and they were huge in air pots. I pulled over 100 grams on some of em!!! thats in two and 2.5 gal air pots, imagine 5 gal!!! this helpd inspired me thanks!!!

Why can't a company sell the tent only without the frame? It seems anyone can build a frame out of pvc or copper tube and save a little money?

Hey bro how are you going to keep it recirculating with no table?? Trust me bro I tried watering a few time in the tent and it turns into a lake! The water doesn't evaporate fast enough and could cause problems just something to think about... Funny you are going from tables to straight on the floor and I doing the opposite hahah I still need to find a table to maximize my space!! 2.7 ft is not easy to find a table for! 2x2 sounds good but it's really 22"x22" arrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhh If anybody knows of a table that fits the DR80s let me know and only if it's 24x24" - 32x32"
Well looking around today I found these Mini Mixing Tubs at Ace Hardware and they are 13.5"x13.5"x5" which isn't too bad and you could fit 4 of them making a 27"x27" table but I gotta figure a to set them in there. I guess on top of rubbermaid containers maybe? But yea what do you think sound like a good idea to get the most out of out tent?

they will still be in trays just not sitting up on tables over the res! I can still tilt them foward and use a pump or shop vac for the excess. thanks though
