By the way, I have no problem with Glenn Beck the entertainer/commentator... I have a problem with the people who believe what he says as facts when they are clearly not.

Why? I will reference a quote that is erroneously attributed to Voltaire but is nonetheless apt; "I disagree with what you have to say but will fight to the death to protect your right to say it."

I bet Voltaire recognized the right to say something is worth more than pejoratives and personal insults.

He may say a thing or two that isn't completely correct from time to time, as anyone who spends so much time speaking. But, you cannot show where Beck is making up lies. You cannot do it, and you are only throwing out baseless charges to be fashionable. I highly doubt you even know what Beck has to say. But in case you do, please show us some evidence of your charge, or else I have to consider you full of hollow shit.

I was making a joke that you obviously didn't get.... I didn't neg rep you, did I?

BTW I was a US soldier and am familiar with the quote, it's one I LIVE by. So since you pulled that quote out, what have you done to fight for peoples rights or liberties?

Actually, Voltaire held the masses in contempt and believed in monarchy as the superior form of governance. His writing is replete with pejoratives directed at the common man.

Sorry smokesalot, I didn't realize you were being facetious.

To answer your question, I served for over six years as an infantryman in the United States Marine Corps. I was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC and served from 1983-1990. I spent most of it deployed to Europe, Southeast Asia, North Africa, Central America, and the Middle East. My last year was spent as an infantry instructor at Camp Geiger, NC. I was honorably discharged as a sergeant and then went to college, which I paid for with money I had saved in the Corps.

The phrase "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" is widely attributed to Voltaire, but cannot be found in his writings. With good reason. The phrase was invented by a later author. It appeared in The Friends of Voltaire (1906), written by Evelyn Beatrice Hall under the pseudonym S[tephen] G. Tallentyre. She used the phrase to express the essence of Voltaire's fight against censorship and his "Essay on Tolerance".

Here are some VIDEO links of Beck's lies. There are 990 video links. There are over a million text links of "Beck lies".

If you're as inept at spin as Beck is, you might think he tells the truth.

Here's a video where Glen fakes his tears with Vap o rub and jokes about his sincerity.

Here's John Stewart doing what he does best, pointing out Beck's lies.

This is all distraction folks. The idea is we'll spend time chasing Beck craziness and be distracted from Republicans and marijuana. But the point has been well established over many pages. The only thing left now is for hoosier to put up a rebuttal or continue infighting. It's my bet he chooses the latter.

Please note that I said erroneously.

So was your comment. Very nice justification if I say so myself.

Perhaps because he isn't spinning?
What he is doing is warning folks about people like YOU! Many of us already have your number and we know what your leaders are up to. We are going to fuck them up, bank on that.

Any Republicans (other than voters) that support mj reform? I can't find many. It's interesting that those who would counter the OP prefer infighting instead.

I am wondering where all the progressives are now? I mean, they couldn't wait for Bush to speak so they could call out liar. No matter what, liar. I was under the impression that the left hated lying and liars. Apparently not, because the current president has told several bold faced lies and not one word gets uttered from these folks about it.
A clear indication that the problem is with these hypocrite democrats and their double standards.
Wait...let me change that a bit...some of you aren't being hypocrites, you are simply ignorant to facts and like to be fashionable.

That's it, hoosier. You keep your hatred and division going. That's the way you'll win the game of you.

Then make a thread for each individual distraction you've brought here. You're no more in-focus than any other thread that disagrees with the world according to hoosierdaddy. You're more into the right vs left fighting in general.

Every one of your distractions beget another. Total waste of time to demand proof of common knowledge when you're already off topic, repeatedly.

The division shoe was on your foot when the last admin was in, so why the phony shit now?
I want to be divided as much as possible from the progressive socialist agenda. And the majority of the Nation agrees with me.

Anyone reading this entire thread would have to be struck by the fact that DiscoBiscuit's use of pejoratives is without end. Yet, two pages ago he reads one single post of mine that he finds objectionable because it was ostensibly a pejorative directed personally at him (which I have since disproven). In response, he feels justified in self-rightously slinging negative rep my way. Does this strike anyone else as the height of hypocrisy?
