Hey Thunderkel - I did ask a while back, but couldn't see any reply - just wanted to know how easy it is to transplant plants from those air pots you use?

Do you even transplant?

If going from a smaller air pot to a bigger one seems like it would be fairly easy as they just unscrew and open up leaving the root ball intact. No I don't transplant from the air pots, I start my cuts in 18oz party cups and when they fill those out I transplant them to the air pots

I've seen a thread where someone did it. Maybe VerdantGreen. You can always try to search airt pots. In either case it looked pretty easy.

So here we are 7 days into flowering and I've started to add Floralicious Plus to my mix along with Vegan Tea and Floranectar as I was told those along with my CES 3part and additives produces ridiculously bomb meds. So enough talk and on with the show

Man I can't WAIT to see how these bitches do!!! I already know it's going to be my best grow to date and best yield and quality cuz I'm on top of my shit this round! Water and feed 3x a day I plan on flushing every 6 days and boy don't my girls look lovely!!!

My mix right now is as follows..

5ml Micro
10ml Bloom
5ml Plant Amp
2.5ml Mag Amped
10ml Uncle John's Blend
5ml Vegan Tea

base nutes ph sits at 5.6-6.0 then the Plant Amp drops it to 4 so I haven't touched my ph in 2 weeks!!! I LOVE THIS SYSTEM

Plants are looking nice but you just confused me.

You water your plants 3 times a day? Is that a necessity? Seems highly labor intensive.

I've heard of bubbling nutes with low pH (around 5) to cause the pH to rise (to over 6). Why are you lowering yours so low?

How are you growing plants with a pH of 4?

I had soil that had a pH of 4 and it caused complete lockout and the plant was dead in a couple days.

Yea the ph thing is a bit odd to most, but here's how it works.. My base nutes and additives mixed together minus the Plant Amp have a ph of 5.8-6.2 I'd say cuz I only have a dopper test kit. But then after you add the Plant Amp it drops to 4 and I will post what CES says as they can explain it better. But I have heard quite a few GOOD growers that switched to CES don't use a pen no more cuz they found they don't need it as am I with my drop kit. But I'd still like a PPM pen..

Just moving, and weighing up all the different options - those pots look absolutely brilliant - they're definitely gonna be in my setup!

Also watering 3x a day is a pain in the ass by hand!!!! BUT I have a passion for my growing and want the best I can get with what I have. My good buddy here on the board mjactivist is the one that told me I should water 3x a day and use a coco specific nutrient schedule and my yields will increase. So far so good my plants are growning way faster than last time. That's cuz last time I was Mr Lazy 1part nutrients and watering once every 2 days sometimes cuz I didn't feel like pulling my plants out!!! Stupid stupid move I mean the first grow in the tent was nice but this one is gonna have people like DAMN bro you stepped your shit up!

Still not sure whats better Air Pots or Smart Pots cuz they both seem to have GREAT results. Depending on strain GETMO says the Smart Pot yielded more but it was only on the one strain and hasn't seen it happen with others so who knows

I tell you what, maybe I'm being a cheeky mo'fo', but I'd love to see some root porn after harvest at some point if you wouldn't mind? Like a pot taken apart just to see how those roots develop inside

Root porn is one level below bud porn, IMO - can't live without 'em!

It's gonna be a big white monster hahah I'm also gonna flush tomorrow and than every 7 days from then so my shit is gonna be PERFECT!!! I'm hoping that DIY $50 Ebb & Flow system on here will fit in my tent cuz I'm gonna build one I think if it does. I want to have my shit on recirculating drip system so my nutrients will last longer and I wont have to be here all day so I can water every 3 hours haha.. It's been bugging me since my buddy was saying "you must go through a lot of nutes hand watering like that" and I thought about it. I mix 3 gallons a day for my girls in my tent and 2 gallons for my moms and then that don't include the CFL cab my GOD typing this out is making me see how ridiculous it is!! If I had a 18gal rez and change it every 2 weeks it would be less I'd imagine? I haven't done the math yet but I will lol

Nice journal man. How are those Air pots working out for ya? I believe I saw some smart pots in your tent somewhere in this thread as well. Would you say one is better then the other or that they are the same? So do you still use ready grow moisture formula, or have you gone to a different medium? Sorry about all the questions I just skimmed through the thread as I have to go to work soon. Good stuff though. I'll be sticking around.

It's been bugging me since my buddy was saying "you must go through a lot of nutes hand watering like that" and I thought about it.

Am I missing something here Buddy? You mix your Nutrients by the volume of water correct? No matter if you hand water or if you have a watering system, if they both have the same volume of water you would still need the same amount of Nutrients.

The biggest thing it would save you would be time, but isn't it best to spend time with your plants to get to know them, understand whats going on with them, see what they need, constantly be involved in their medium?

I have 3 Rooms each with 10 1,000 Watters (2 used to have 8 1,000 Watters), and I watered for years by "myself" with filling up a Huge Plastic Pickle Barrel in each room, measuring the Nutrients, PHing the water and using a pump and water wand to hand water each room. Takes hours. Now thankfully I have someone to do that for me as I take care of the Breeding aspect. But it is still done the same way (just not by me).

No it wouldn't from what I've been told by a few different growers I mean dude each day I'm mixing 3 gal of nutrient solution when I can fill a res and change it every 2 weeks I'd use less nutrients as I would just top it off with water not more nutrients right?

Yes that is what I believe they do. I will stick with the whole hand watering thing. I just have to have a more hands on approach I guess.

Dj Short 2 days into flowering I need love from all growers on this one that she stays female!! My buddy gave cuts to friends and 4 turned hermi and 2 didn't all from the same mom think I should chance it?? Hearing that 2 stayed fine and didn't hermi makes me think something had to have happened to stress them to do that I just don't see Dj Short Genetics putting out a mom that's gonna have varying results with it's clones but we shall see. Hoping for frosty blue nugs in 8weeks...
