Strain: Chuck D

Original Sour Diesel clone X Deep Chunk Indica

Breeder: Cannacopia

Interesting cross and the seeds were inexpensive.

Grown indoors this strain proved to be very vigorous with dense trichome covered buds and is very potent.

The first time I smoked Chuck D I took three or four hits which turned out to be just way too much. It felt like I was on a roller coaster with my heart nearly pounding out of my chest. I remember thinking "Holy crap, there's a lot of THC in that plant". I've found that just a pinch of bud will keep me baked for four + hours.
The high (with a moderate dose) is a hybrid type high, not racy or sedative.
It does keep me awake though. I have never fallen asleep any sooner than about five hours after smoking it even if smoked late at night.
For me the high made everything just much more interesting than usual with some insight and clarity while maintaining a fairly high level of functionality. I found that while working at the computer for instance I am much more focused and better organized. The only body effect I noticed was that mild floating sensation you sometimes get while smoking.
It does seem to pretty seriously distort the perception of time. As the high begins to wind down I inevitably look at the clock and am always surprised at the amount of time that has passed.
Some strains are noted for increasing your sex drive and Chuck D is definitely in that category.

While growing the plant had an interesting smell that I couldn't place at first. It didn't smell of diesel but something somewhat related. I was cleaning some computer parts with alcohol and I realized, that was it. The flowers smell surprisingly like isopropyl alcohol.
The grow was vented to the outdoors and as the plants started to flower I had to screen the exhaust. When the fan stopped green bottle flies would get by the back draft flapper and travel down through the exhaust ducting to get to the flowers. The plants must have been exuding an odor that the flies found very attractive to travel all that way in the dark.
After drying and curing it smells quite a bit like roasted peanuts but the smoke is a generic weed flavor.

I made a tincture from the trim and some of the bud. I didn't concentrate the extract but left the volume as it was. I ended up with about 9 ounces which I found to be surprisingly strong. 2 milliliters is a very pleasant mellow long lasting experience and 4 is about as much as I find entertaining.

All in all a very nice very potent strain certainly worth considering for your garden.

We have used the original Sour Diesel clone in producing this hybrid seed with our highly select Deep Chunk indicas. The mother Sour Diesel was named High Times plant of the year in 2005, and she is truly some of the finest, dankest weed going. Serious smell control is recommended, but well worth the effort. She has a soaring up high with a surreal head space, which is extremely satisfying. We are pleased to offer you this excellent Sour Diesel hybrid, as we are sure she will set the standard for Sour Diesel seed lines to aspire to. Yield is average (250-350 g/sq m)

Indoor flowering period: 9-10 weeks.
Outdoors harvest late October.

My seeds came in the pack labeled as "Chuck D", I assumed that there was just a printer error...They were originally sold as "Chunk D"...at least the pack that I won =) Take a peek. I assume that CCP did a few "play on words" with their strain names using Chunk to replace Chuck...the other strain that I got from them is Chunky Cheese....

I don’t know if that's what they were called originally but the seedbank I got them from still has them in stock and they are listed as Chuck D.

There are threads on the forums here that give detailed instructions on making a tincture or Green Dragon as it is sometimes referred to. Just do a search and you will find them. I've seen some instructions that take weeks even months but the whole process can be done in an hour or less.

Neuromancer,

This is my kind of smoke report. So many are done with "it's good smoke, really potent" and that's all. Thanks for the detail and descriptions of the experience.

How many times have you smoked it and did the concentration/focus/organization and sex drive come through always?

Innit Chunk D tho? Cause naming a weed after Chuck in his honor would be stupid as the guy speaks out against smoking weed and doesn't even drink coffee, super teetotaler. And if it's a fuck you to him, he does not deserve it.

Glad you found the report of use.
I've smoked it six times and used the tincture about the same number. So far the effect is pretty much the same every time. Of course everyone's body chemistry and psychology is slightly different so I couldn't say with any certainty your experience would be the same.
Something I forgot to mention is appetite. Pot in general has a reputation for enhancing the appetite. For me, this strain does just the opposite.

how long did it take to flower? was it 9-10 weeks as advertised or did they finish faster?

I would say the suggested flowering time is accurate. I let them go 11 weeks because I made a cross with another strain and wanted to make sure the seeds were viable.

how would you compare to high and potency to other strains? Also, does this variety turn purple? I was thinking about getting this stuff

I haven’t smoked many strains recently so it would be difficult for me to make comparisons . Maybe Whiskeytango420 could address that. I found it quite potent.
Here are a couple of pictures that show them starting to turn purple as the temperatures at night dipped into the 60’s.

1. see first post...
2. see my post and Neuros below...
lol...anyway, its a very potent and cerebral stone. Not too much body to it. Builds like an indica dominant plant, but hits like a satty dom. Good shit...I give it 2 joints up!:2cents::joint:
good vibes
