after 5 harvest i'm still struggling to get 2#s per 1k. the most i've gotten is 7# 10oz off of 4 1k. i know it's not easy but would like to get some advice from OGs that have accomplish it. i'm currently doing 9 5gal RDWC under 1k. Strain is GDP, for my base nutes i'm using Super Nutrients. For my additives i'm using cal mag, root excel, AN bigbud, AN overdrive, and cannazyme. also using RO water. during veg i top them once and then do a lot of lst. they usually end up with 2-5 tops going into flower. i'm thinking i should top them 2 or 3 more time on my next run. well hopefully that's enough info. please let me know what you think. thanks in advance!!

The more you top, the more veg time you will require for those tops to even out and become the "alpha colas"

Your reasons could be strain specific. Could be environmental. Light Penetration. Way too many variables to gove you a full answer. But keep trying, you will get it eventually.

Can you give us more details about your setup.

Distance from light to canopy? Temps? Veg time? From seed or clone, i'm guessing clone? Square footage? Total time in flower?

Have you seen this strain/mother produce better? Are you having an issues during veg or flowering?

We know # means lbs. You said you can't break 2 lbs per 1kW but then you said you max out at 7 lbs 10 oz, which makes absolutely no sense.

7 lbs 10 oz > 2 lbs

No SmokeTrees, while the info provided is pretty non specific, it simply means that bron2k runs more than 1000 watts of light in his flowering room.

Satchifunkilus- i'm doing RDWC with 9 sites under 1k and it's about 3.5x6. i do have a light mover to make sure the end ones get enough light. i veg about 3 weeks and flower for a full 8 week and that's including flush. the strain is GDP. oh they get tossed into flower around 18". i have the light about 2ft from the canopy. my room temp is about 81 and humidity is around 35-50 depending on the season. i think i just need to top it more and do a lot of training on my next run. i only top them once before and they get about 2-4 nice tops. i hope thats enough info. thanks again guys!! heres some old pics..

Looks like a nice clean setup you have there Bron2k! :)
One suggestion I have for you that will increase your yields would be to trim off the lower, weaker branches and any sucker limbs from the bottom 1/3 (or so) of your plants that aren't receiving as much light. In return, your plants will simply transfer the energy towards the tops instead, which will result in increased yield.
Give it a try, I promise you won't be disappointed.

yep, those look great! I agree that you should try and trim some of that bottom larf. I like to trim my plants the second week of bloom and take lots of the undergrowth out...

I think you might be hung up on a number bro. If you pulled 7lb10oz from 4K, you are doing 14.5oz per 1k light. That's only about 10% less than what you want! 0.85g/w isn't bad at all.

Maybe an extra topping and another week in veg would help. I don't know if your including popcorn bud in your total but if not, trimming undergrowth should definitely help with yield.

Sorry if I missed it, but I didn't see you mention what strain you are using. Genetics could be having something to do with it. If all you are after is weight there are some heavy weight commercial strains on the market.

Great tip - I've been saying it for years to people !

It really does work!

hey thanks guys for all the advice and compliments. i'm actually doing Grand daddy purps and some LUIs. i think i should be able to pull it off this next run here. i know 7lbs and 10oz is pretty good for 4 1k but i've been doing it for a few years now where i'm kind of expecting myself to hitting 2lbs per light. i guess we'll wait and see in 2 months lol.
