What's new

white widow - lemon skunk, 400w hps

It's my fan now!! ... So checked on the ladies tonight.. day 10 12/12.. widows are making good bud sites already. Pistils are starting to fill in from the top. The lemon skunk is taking its time just like in veg. It's transitioning but still not putting out many pistils yet.

The clones are all rooted now and in 16 ounce cups. They lost alot of the nitrogen in the new growth with just the peat pucks and plain water. They are getting some calmag and pure blend now, but the root growth is great.

Next update will be either tomorrow night or day 14(2 weeks).

UPDATE Day 11 12/12

UPDATE Day 11 12/12

Update, day 11 (12/12). watered and fed plants today. they got 5ml pbp bloom. Pistils are coming in better now, especially with the right rear plant,(the over achiever). temps have been 71-83. cooler nights ahead(light cycle is overnight). plants are a little droopy cause i just watered them. PH is 6.5-7.0.

UPDATE Day 13 12/12

UPDATE Day 13 12/12

Update Day 13 12/12.

The Widows seems to have 2 different phenos. One pheno is shorter and a low calyx/leaf ratio so far. The other pheno is taller and it stretched more under 12/12 with a good calyx to leaf ratio so far. The latter seems to be the keeper pheno. the left two plants are the pheno 1, and the right widow is pheno 2.

The Lemon Skunk has stretched big time. internodes are spaced out and branches are kinda flimsy. She doesnt seem to like water, leaf claw occurs immediately after watering, though after a couple days the claw is gone. I water when container is light and dry to an inch below surface. Not sure if its a crap pheno or just a slow starter...

Last thing, I noticed on one plant, the short pheno, that there is growth at the nodes next to the preflowers. And it is on several of the branches. Mostly occuring closer to the top nodes. Wondering if this is a feminized issue? Not sure if its gonna be a hermi right from the start or what.Last picture shows the growth at the node.

hey sanke, the canopy did fill in nicely. Now if i can only tame the lemon skunk. ill atleast have an L shape canopy with the widows. LS might stretch up to the reflector by harvest time!
The smell is modest. The room is exhausted out, so that helps. Checking on them tonight and adding a oscillating stand fan. The small fan might get placed by the door to help pull in fresh air.

UPDATE Day 15 12/12

UPDATE Day 15 12/12

Update, Day 15 12/12. I put in a standing fan for canopy circulation ,and I moved the small fan to the ground for improved lower circulation(and to pull cooler air unlike the old placement). Small fan is now 24/0 and the stand fan is on 12/12.
Temp have been 77-80. outside temp is 35-45 for night time lights on cycle. 66-70 for lights off heater cycle.
Light is about 14-16 inches away from most tops.Probably let the plant grow a couple more inches before raising the light any.
The widow pheno i thought was going to be undesirable has improved just over the last couple days. The left two(pheno 1) have started catching up to pheno 2(right rear). Blackstrap molasses and maybe cha ching will be added to the feeding by week 4.

couple pics from tonight, Day 17 12/12. Plants got fed today, and they were pretty thirsty, lower fan leaves were droopy. Good growth, lots of pistils. The lemon skunk stretched big time, some of the internode gaps are probably 6-8 inches!!! She has got to be around 2 feet now. i think with the position she is in, the buds could reach up close to the reflector and not get burned.
Finally bucked up and ordered a bottle of organic blackstrap molasses  gonna start on a tsp/gal once that gets here.
I have a bag of Kool Bloom powder, I was wondering if I should use it during the ripening weeks or if i should buy a container of ChaChing ???

Update Day 20 12/12

Update Day 20 12/12

Update, Day 20 12/12. first coat of trichomes have popped up on the widows since i last visited 3 days go. The lemon skunk looks to be about at where the widows were at my last visit.
I like that there is alot of light penetration on the lemon skunk. The widow is soo bushy that there are many lower fan leaves that dont get much light at all. Some of the lower leaves died off, dont know if it was a fungus or mold(had mold on the leaf areas that were dead) but they were the leaves that didnt get much light. I sprayed the lower fan leaves and positioned a fan to circulate the lower canopy air much better. Any ideas?

Lookin good bro! Whats funny is I started 12/12 same day you did. I'm using 150 watt hps and four 13 watt cfls in a 2x2x3 growroom. When you get your BlackStrap start off with a tsp to a gallon as a tbs is overkill in my opinion. I use 1tsp per gallon everytime I feed with nutes and it does make a difference! I use Brer Rabbit Mollasses.
When I get my new cam I'll post some pics.

thanks acrophobic! :) what strain are you growing? Yea, i can't wait to start on the blackstrap, should be here in a few days. I ordered plantation organic blackstrap molasses several days ago and i couldn't find Brer Rabbit anywhere local.

Update Day 22 12/12

Update Day 22 12/12

Update Day 22 12/12. The "frost" is spreading and the bud sites have filled in some more. The left front and right rear widows look awesome.
The lemon skunk was a slow starter in veg and it turned out the same way in flower. Not sure these are going to be ready at day 50-56. It looks more like a 65-70 day pheno.
They don't need water for 5-6 days in these buckets. Kinda nice but at the same time thats less feedings and fresh water etc.. Maybe in a couple weeks it will be down to 4-5 days. Next grow ill probably go from 16oz/1 gal/3 gal.
