Yes, tohighmf runs them together exclusively (the orange ones, cant think of the name).
Well boys I finally put my 4 ballast flip flop together and it is working like a charm, 4 relays=$98 with shipping and I luckily had everything else. I'll throw some pics up if anybody's interested? Karma, One Love
Fo sho one love show us some pix and burnedout,I think he wants to flip instead of addine more ballast cuz his breaker can't take more load of more ballast versus flipping?

For example I need 8 flip box's for 16 hoods and 8 ballast's. @140$ each thats 1120$
Vs HortiControl LF-8 Witch is the same ting will cost me 1,110$
There very similar in price and I think I can get the FLIPBOX's at 15% off witch will make them cheaper.. Also if one relays arc's out on me and dies It wont fk up the hole grow fixin it =)

Yeah buddy that's why I'm hyped about these.seperate boxes so the grow shouldn't be hurt by one burning out

i saw these and i wanted one...and probably still want one if only just to play with it and compare
however, i just bought an intermatic t175
i plug one end of the ballast into the wall (power source) and the end that the reflector goes to...i just wired that to my intermatic t175
my t175 i wired it to have 2 'reflector' type outlets.... so i just plug the reflectors into the timer
a friend helped me with the original idea

Or you could just make one for a few hundred dollars at the most....
EDIT : Sorry I think I misunderstood your post when writing that response. But, you could still make one and save a lot of money.
Yea, that's why I was asking if he could explain. It should be drawing the same amount of amps no matter which option he uses. Which is why I was hoping he could explain his logic. Cool?
Way cool dude,well that's why I'm gettin the flipbox,I currently run 1k in one tent and 600w in the other and bout 650w of HO T5's my last bill was 2bills too much for us,so I'm gonna just flip 1k for bloom and veg under T5 for my next run,I just need to get my op more efficiant
Are you cutting out a lot of wattage from your T5's? Cause it sounds like your bill is actually gonna go UP. Right now you run 1600w for flowering, and once you install your flip you're gonna be running 2000w. Right?
Right,I was runnin 2x400w hid/cfls 24hrs in veg the 600W 18/6 and the 1k 12/12 all at the same time sometimes,so I acquired the T5's for veg gonna ditch the 600 and stick to flippin for 2 bloom rooms and T5's only for veg/clone and I'm gonna cut that down to 435w of T5's once spring hits and 6 of the ladys iv had vegging for 3months already go outside then I won't need as much veg light

these are awesome relays as you really don't need to mount them in a box as they come with a cover, just make sure the one you buy has a 120vac coil so you can use a cheap timer

just daisy chain the timer cord to each relay, if one goes bad pull it and replace it, its that simple.

True true,but I think it takes 30-40% of astetic differences to patent a design wether its something new or has been out for 100 years don't quote me on those percentages but I do know for a fact that that's what can happen
He's just trying to save people some money. Once you realize how simple a flip is, it seems like a waste of money to buy one. Unless of course you can't wire a basic receptacle or really like the pretty packaging.
I am very much interested. Please post a detailed explanation and pics. I don't want to burn anything down...
