By the way I bought a 100 or 120 litre bag of perlite today. I asked the guy how much it would cost, and he said the boss isn't at work today so I could have it for free!So I have spare perlite too!

Alright!! So I had the jiffies on the floor of the pl-l cab just until the first ones showed, and that was at lights on just now. So I plugged everything in and got 'er fired up. The broken power supply rebroke of course, so I'm using a real PSU from a computer - plenty of power if I want to run more lights.
Only two sprouted at this time so I put each under a different colour. I may choose to even up the numbers if there's a big discrepancy under either colour. I may well only get these two sprout I have a pic of the mother somewhere, I'll try to upload it.
Once they veg a bit and the growth habits are observed, I can put the best into the vert cab and get that kickin'.

I found those pics - great memories Actually it looks a lot better strain than I remembered. Maybe it's not so bad. This plant was grown under really harsh conditions so it's not really representative, but it's all I have.
I was given 5 freebies of some strain called Exodus. Not sure if they were from a boo order but has anyone grown this strain? I ended up with 2 plants and one was male, one was female, so I put them in the same pot, in pure coco, and took them to snake valley
Every valley is snake valley round those parts.
They got hydro nutes once a week or less and for a long time there was a big male beside it, so I think it could go well if looked after. The best bit is that I have heaps of this seed! I always thought it was crap. We'll see!

i know the trick to this. You be walking around some random hardware or dollar/less store, yard sale, dump, etc and something catches your eye and your brain goes "BOOF.. not a lot of people know this but you can grow your weed with that!"
doesn't take many trips out to accumulate boxes and boxes of hardware.. to add to the boxes you probably already have because of previous projects.. I think it's a rare skill.. my ex learned how to spot it in me.. we'd be walking round some thrift store or random cheap crap store and all of a sudden i'd stop DEAD and stare at something unresponsively. "You've seen something for your cab again havent you"

Even my "things I could make a carbon filter out of" collection is huge. I have a whole HPS cab in storage lol. Litres upon litres of hydro nutes. Pots, potting mixes, coco bricks. As soon as I rent a decent house or property, it's on like donkey kong.
It is an addiction, for real. All my money goes towards grow equipment. It's money well spent though.

Another seedling had sprouted last night in the white room.
It's only a very early observation but it seems to me like the red was indeed stretchier, but I'll observe more. We should have a good idea fairly quick I reckon. If it does that as expected, I will move onto testing some mixed spectrums I think.

Red bulbs on the left and the two on the right are white bulbs. A slight difference so far but lets face it, 3 seedlings is not a good way to do this test, lol. Was kinda hoping to have more come up but I'll get more in when I can be motivated.
Overall the setup is pretty sweet. I haven't put a thermo in the boxes yet, but I can't feel any heat there at all. The ballasts and bulbs are cool. The PC PSU is located in the tent also, and the whole lot raises the overall tent temp by about 1º f which is fine since the tent is well ventilated anyway.
Well those seeds bunked out! They do that same thing how they sprout but don't grow spiky leaves, just the round ones? WTF. Basically every seed I made, from 3 or so different fathers and lots of mothers, all do this shit. 
Anyways, I planted 11 different seed that grows normally, and they should be poppin tomorrow or so. One of the mong seeds has actually sprouted spiky leaf so I dunno wtf to say. But other than that, I see no difference between the red and the white bulbs. Red on the left again.

Arctic, no mate, deffo the seeds. The Leda Uno seed from a friend sprouted and grew fine under ccfl. The seeds I made have bunked out under CFLs and fluoros. See how the cotyledons all do the same thing? One is normal, one is curly. Here are some older ones.
They are old seeds but I never hear of people having this problem. If they sprout, old seeds are generally fine. But every single one of these behaves exactly the same, except for the one I posted above that's actually growing real leaf. I guess that's the keeper, lol.

i popped some bagseed that did that a while back, just on the windowsill in some beercups... weird though
