shhh - i vegged for 2 weeks from babies and topped everything, then gave them another 2 weeks. as for height, the og strain grows like a beanstalk it was over 2ft tall and the other strains were about 16-18 inches when i put them in flower.

deepforest - i do water with the lights on. its not that bad only takes me 30 min. I'm scared to even imagine what Norther Farmer goes through.

i try to keep bulbs about 20 inches from canopy give or take an inch or two. i did raise the lights when i took these pics, i raise them every time i water to avoid setting my clothes on fire. even then its still not enough room.

I've been burned a few times and it sucks.

do you have any experience with vegging either considerably less, or even more than you currently are? or do you flip em at the same height every run?

did you do anything special for drainage or do you not usually have much excess during watering?

what do you veg with?

tweezy - i have done other grows vegging for 1-2 weeks but i would do 80+ plants. the only problem with that is i'm a lazy bastard and trying to maintain that was a headache.

as for drainage i have very minimal runoff. i use the cheap plastic catchers that you see in my veg pics. i water 1/2 gallon each every other day.

veg nutrient i only use FloraNova Grow. its one part its simple it does the job.

rooted - i do top the girls, i vegged for 2 weeks then topped and vegged another 2 weeks. the OG was 2ft tall and the other strains were about 16-18 inches when i flipped.

what sort of temps are you hitting in your room? do you have (or will you eventually need) an AC?

have you ever considered using anything bigger than a two gallon container?

tweezy - the highest temp i've hit has been 80. have not been any higher than that. i will most likely throw in a split a/c in the spring.

container size... i think 2 gal is more than enough for this setup. i started out with 1 gal containers and had a few plants top out at 90g+
so i expect the same if not more using the 2 gal. but i do have 2-3 plants in 5 gal pots so we'll have to see what happens. maybe ill go bigger?

gotcha. i just figure with only 32 plants you definitely have the room for 5 gallon pots, why risk limiting your harvest even in the slightest you know? (imo)

are you pulling air from outside? exhausting outside?

do you think running two stacks of two 1000w lights would be better or worse than running four bulbs in a row?

are your plants generally the same size or are the ones in the top row a little smaller?

(imo) - i do agree but you have to think about how much coco that would be and then how to dispose of it. in short it would raise some red flags at my location.

are you pulling air from outside? exhausting outside? - yes i have a 1400 cfm exhausting outside and a smaller fan for intake not sure of the rating though.
