Cool, what size inline fan you use? I don't wanna spend a lot of money on one, but not sure if a computer fan is sufficient enough...and I'm not sure how i would wire it to get power to make it spin.
i tried the pc fan thing.. and it can work. but i had to use 4 of them to keep my light cool.. and they were LOUD. save your money and get a good fan. i am speaking from experience. http://www.hydroponics.net/i/133756 here is the fan im using
i just get a better deal... http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/active-air-165-cfm-in-line-duct-fan-p-2755.html these guys are damn competitive, haven't found anybody cheaper. they beat the local hydro shop with shipping sometimes in excess of 40%. and if ya spend $10 more you can get a fan that will last through an up grade, a 6inch 450cfm. your welcome.
looks like i can save about 40 bucks if i get that fan that ilovewest posted with a 4 inch charcoal filter. Will prolly go that route, less CFM's but less money too.
i got a special place in my heart for people from the mid west, lived there for a grip of years. fucking madison and minneapolis. good times. any way, http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/ has the cheapest equipment, go with them. but why im posting is this: i dont know if would work, but i have been thinking about this for cab growing. would a duct booster work as your primary fan, and could it hold the load? cuz they are like $40 for a 500cfm fan. like this. free air cfm:160 $39.90, 6inch http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/suncourt-inch-inline-booster-fan-wpowercordp-1021.html
also from my limited experiance you want to over shoot your fan, so if your getting the inline fan, why not shell out $10 and get the next size up, which has 3 times the cfm of the one your looking at. you can get a conrtoller for the fans speed, making it so you can run that fan at half speed, still get more air moved per minute, and have less noise. just trying to help.
finished upe running some 4in flex duct into my tv room, this way the heat off my light will help heat my house i do this every winter and it will help on the bills
