By the way, she has a 2 or 3 year warranty (cant remember exactly, but read it somewhere in her forum), and a 30 day return policy, see if you can entise her by bying large amount of lamps with and extended return policy, if not satisfied (1 full grow, from seed to harvest) maybe it would fly?

^lol so funny, you actually think this is the first she hears like that! there are 4 free lights underway to MOD's of this site. sit back shut up, and wait for the tests to finish! jeebus some ppl have really thick skulls!

hahaha my thoughts exactly. this is that type of shit we r adressing... nay sayers who just wanna call bs with not right to an opinion in the matter... who is anyone to say that she cant yeild that... just cuz it wasnt on icmag... ill b damned the day some of you actuslly leave this site to do anything else in ur lives...pathetic... dont talk shit til the results come out... if bunk... trash the lights... but i have a strong feeling a lot of people are gonna eat their words and learn to shut the F up after these test... i bet u will even see these haters grabbin a few...

Thank you for the post.
Looking back at my original post it did seem rather crass and I didn't mean for it to sound as if I was knocking the unit.
That fact is, my unit is suppose to arrive this week sometime and I plan on using it for my veg area.
I didn't get the jumbo light as I didn't need it but, I'm watching everyones grow hoping everything turns out positive for all.

I really was hoping this thread didn't turn out similar to the one were talking about. It just seems that whenever you get people with opposing opinions everything go's wrong.
I purchased your light two weeks after you became a vendor here, I really wish you all the best.

peace,

B

nice, Mr-B...i hope you show us what you can do with your light...what wattage did you get?

*snip*

Forget it... it will just get deleted anyway.

LED, I'm not trying to be rude. I would really like to see LED grow lights succeed. But if you make claims as specific as the ones you have made, expect skepticism and doubt, and be prepared to back it up.

Until the day that somebody does a side by side 400W HPS grow vs 126W LED grow, these questions will remain. All I suggest is that you lose the comparison to HID lighting on your site until that claim has been thoroughly vetted. I'm neither presuming that it is correct or incorrect at this point. But there should be a burden of proof for ANY vendor making ANY claim that specific.

well, like i posted earlier, i will be testing a 126 watt LED light fixture and you can go back into my profile and look at what i'm capable of with my 400 watt HPS i use for flowering...we shall see soon enough.

I'm sorry please accept my apologizes, I hope everything works out for you. But I do have question if I were to replace my HID 400w+600w with one of your 318w equivalent to 1000 watt Hps and according to your specifications Use within 6 – 12″ from your canopy for best results seems like I would need maybe 2 of these or more to get maximum coverage and penetration and at $1175 a piece and 40 pounds each that's alot of weight and cost. I guess I could possibly used 4 126w.

Approximate Coverage Area of 2′ x 4′ at 12″ above your Canopy

Like I said I will wait for the data on these testers.

i can't answer that one...i'm happy to see you are open-minded, though...

I say she's a witch! If she's a witch she won't burn when we throw her into the fire. Throw her into the fire! Throw her into the fire!

that is some funny shit!

lets take a look at the following statistic: (humor me for a sec...)

Members: 91,720 Threads: 136,396 Posts: 2,662,200

so out of 91,720 registered members, under 10 are using the LEDs from LEDGirl...help me with a percentage, math was never my strong suit...

i'm willing to bet almost half of those people actively grow...

so i'm also willing to bet that of the half that do grow, probably 44,000 use a HPS or MH to flower their plants under...pretty much all of them.

lets try to think of some other "new technology", that when it came out, it got bashed around like LEDGirl's lights have...go back as far as you can...even think about your parents time here on earth...

every time something new and different arrives, we trash it...

we are always telling ourselves how great we are, how different we are...how open and accepting we are...

from what i've seen in the last two weeks, the opposite has proven to be true.

i think its fine to ask for some info, even to ask for someone to provide data to prove a point, but when an active witch hunt takes place...man, i can't believe it. (mrbomdiggity, i am not attacking you at all...not one bit. i just couldn't seem to find a term more appropriate. please don't be offended.)

especially here.

........

this vendor has been gracious enough to provide test units, with no strings attached, for us to show you all what can be done.

that's quite a big step/gesture/leap of faith (whatever you want to call it)...

lets do the same in return, and at least wait and see.

i am not that outspoken here...i used to be online a lot more than recently...i think you guys/gals will believe me when i say:

the tests will run from start to finish.

the data will support our tests.

we will show success or otherwise.

you the potential buyers will decide.

...back to the program.

peace.

I'm one of the peeps that love my UFO's for veg but think these claims for flower are false and I've been here a long time and have many solid grows under my belt as many here can back this and if another test light comes up I'd love to run a side by side with my 1000 HPS and would be happy to send the light back when the test is over .

i tried to take some pix...

i tried to take some pix...

How about some pictures of one of these disassembled, so we can see the quality of the electronics and fabrication?

i tried to get some images of the inside of the unit...

there really isn't much to see, though...

outside vents...

looking in closer...looks like a huge heat sink and a couple of cords...that's it!
amazingly clean construction!

very solidly built unit.

peace.

That's HOT!

That's HOT!

2 grams/W would be pretty sweet! :joint:

What size or Wattage are your individual LED's, LEDGirl? Do your lamps plug right into the wall, or do you need an inverter? Or if you've got the inverter built-in, what kind of Amperage are you using? I had a little 6A inverter that came with a Coleman thermo-electric little cooler thing-a-majig......So anyhow when I got my little DIY LED setup set up, all of the wires and bulbs and everything got hella hot, hot enough to melt the hot glue I used to fasten them....and I'm not sure why....that didn't happen with the smaller 1/4W LED's I'd tested with before....

If and when unbiased 3rd parties start posting up results I will probably try one. Until then, sorry LEDgirl but I just can't trust someone who is selling a product to do their own testing. Good luck to you though, I really do hope they live up to the hype. Sounds like you are going about it the right way :)

I likely won't buy another system for at least a year, hopefully we have plenty of journals from well known IC'ers by then. :)

If its krunch your talking about, he didnt stir it up much, he seems reasonable, and since youre in here NOT reading anything of what have been said, i URGE you to do it again, heres a tip and some screaming for ya : THERES 4 FREE LIGHTS COMMING TO MODS ON THIS FORUM AS AN ATTEMPT TO PROVE THESE "NEW" LAMPS WORK, UNTILL THIS HAS BEEN DONE SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!!!!!!! dammit! thick skulls, thick skulls.

Heres one for ya, he recieved his light TODAY http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=145588

Some ppl have a habbit of not reading a thread before posting, i dont get this, i realy dont!
But the credulity on display here IS amazing. The fact that the OP bought a sub-forum where more grand claims are posted, is held up as some kind of measure of credibility? Makes no sense, unless you're 3 years old and the concept of "advertising claims" is over your head.

Oh man oh man, i noticed that this must be directed at ME, since i am the only one mentioning it, and if you reread it, it was only said ONCE and in fact is not even close to being held up as the "credibility" factor, but the FACT she gave 4 ligths away for free IS.. so again sit down take a nice long breath and WAIT untill these test have been done :) and stop putting words in my mouth, i recall no one much less my self saying anything about TRUSTING the salesperson, opposite of that i did say = WAIT for the tests..?? do you want your bottle now? 3year old?

AGAIN, SORRY FOR THE HIJACKING...

it weighs about 20 lbs.

the light is different...hard to describe, but the 'opposite' of when you spend time under the glow of HPS.

i fired it up right away, but my test from seed has not begun yet.

back to you, LEDGirl...

sorry about that.

LED Girl I am following with tempered excitement as I would love nothing better than for LED technology to truly allow +1g per watt at reduced energy and heat levels - talk about the best of both worlds.

My only question, I guess, is it sounds like you make all the components here in the USA because your website states:

"Everything from the “light engine” that drives each of our lights, to how many LED’s per board, spectral output, and intensity, is custom made by our company for optimum performance and efficiency. You will not find a single other manufacturer in the world selling lights like you’ll find on our site."

Or do you have a Chinese manufacturer make your lights? I only ask because it sounds like your company did a lot of 'custom' development but when I did some searching the light here ( http://bluesealed.manufacturer.glob...t/product_id-1021714959/action-GetProduct.htmhttp://bluesealed.manufacturer.glob...7/pdtl/LED-grow/1023007521/LED-Grow-Light.htm ) looks EXACTLY (same exact outer case w/ beveled edge, same screw placement, etc) like your 126w light on your website. Do you just import the cases or do you just provide these existing Chinese mfgr's with your custom specifications and they build custom to your spec - and for nobody else?

The guy "stirring the shit" has actually tested LED configs, contra to those screaming at him to shut up and just trust the claims of the salesperson. Seems naive, at best.

But the credulity on display here IS amazing. The fact that the OP bought a sub-forum where more grand claims are posted, is held up as some kind of measure of credibility? Makes no sense, unless you're 3 years old and the concept of "advertising claims" is over your head.

The potential for LEDs is certainly there with spectrum tunability and efficiency/heat. But until you get some giant fab factory in China putting them together with 400W+ in a single panel, at a <$300 price point, it's all just jacking for people with more money than sense.

Im not saying anything about taking her claims at face value. I am saying instead of walking into someones vendor forum and immediately calling bollocks perhaps we should wait until the mods have tested the lights and post their results. If we want a good old tar and feathering then by all means, thats when we should have it. Otherwise save the roasting until later.

Antimatter.
Ok you dont seem to get the jist of it.. we are advocating the tar and feather AFTER shes been debunked in the tests, if it turns out she was right then it should be YOU who got to be tarred... thick fing skulls.
