Why is medical marijuana so expensive?

Your missing the point.

This was about Richard Lee's place doing $25 million a year (HARDLY a mom & pop, 75 employees) but that the auditors said millons were funneled back into the company to go towards "yoga" for the members.

Like I said No one in oakland is trustworthy.

No you are missing the point. NO ONE SHOULD CARE! It is his outfit he should be able to run it however the hell he wants to run it. He shouldn't have to answer to auditors unless they are confirming that he is paying his damned taxes. Cannabis is a plant, a plant we have the right to grow and our government arbitrarily chooses to prevent us from growing. Fuck them and fuck all laws that try to say we can't grow, sell, eat, cook, do whatever with out pot that we want to. Furthermore, corruption isn't localized to oaksterdam or any other local. No one in a position where money is involved is trustworthy anywhere. Police in my city protect drug runs, high level gang leaders, and any scum that pays well enough to get their services. No one is trustworthy man. And maybe he just hired some really expensive yoga instructors and provided all the mats, balls, studio, weights etc. But again, who cares.

Well guess you have not been to a hydro store in a while? They are one of the first with a hand in the pie. then comes the power company, then comes help, then maybe when all said and done you get to pay a few bills... Good growers do it for the love, and help lots of people out along the way.

And another thing: Yea its true it cost money to have fun and be high..

He shouldn't have to answer to auditors...

I agree he shouldn't but reality is right now he DOES and pyth's arguement was that the Richard Lee is to be trusted just because he has an independant audit but my point was that even the auditors can't be trusted.

It just makes the whole gang look like a bunch of criminals to us citizens.

UNTIL the laws change this is how it will be so Richard Lee and the auditors should do everything by the book to convince the public perception that legalization will be a good thing and not just a "technicalitly" for criminals.

I am proud to be a criminal who breaks unjust laws and if he does, good for him. Unjust laws should be actively disobeyed.

That is so fucking ironic. Because he is the one that wants auditors and plant police up in everyone's business. He wants it so bad he is trying to scam the voters into passing it. There are better alternatives regardless of stance on tax issue.

zenoonez;2866331 Cannabis is a plant said:
The problem is that his corruption is hypocritical and while he says that regulation is a good thing and that we should pay taxes and wants to force us to pay taxes he would then be evading taxes. But seriously is there any credibility behind this yoga claim?

And that is exactly why when it comes time to vote people shy away from voting for anything relating to MJ because they have the perception that it will just be enabling criminals.

If people took the ten minutes to realize that they are all criminals maybe they would think twice about categorically judging things. Every time you smoke a j or light up your bowl or fire up your vape YOU ARE A CRIMINAL BLUE DOT! All of America are criminals not because they are bad people but because our government is crammed so far up our asses that we can't move without breaking the law. So again I will say it, fuck all unjust laws and fuck the twits in government that pass them.

since there is no monopoly, markets sets prices.
the market is loosely consumers & producers agreeing on bare-able price.
there are no hidden variables.
standard fruit costs standard fee.
quality & novelty demand more coins.
none want bad fruit.

as w/ any commodity...

whether regulated or not, the price is what it costs...
or else, wont be purchased.

price falls when inventory is held longer than 30 days, like any product/market...

the open market is by nature, volatile. whether that open market is regulated or not.
difficult to control the value of any instrument considered valuable, especially if mass produced, by many, many independent mfg's.

really, simple market variables @ work.

thread question:
Why is medical m******** so expensive?

that is what it is worth... otherwise, they wouldnt/wont pay.

enjoy your garden!

LOL, you've never been to a SoCal dispensary have you?

Most of the inventory is older then 30 days and the price doesn't change.

It just gets oldier and moldier and they just keep pushin it at the same price.

They try and convince you it ages like fine wine. lol

Of course I'm not persuaded by "facts" if the "facts" that a third party auditor lists are millons of dollars going towards "yoga" for the club members.

How stupid do these auditors think we are?

Well, pretty damn stupid if he's using you as a baseline. You keep showing it over and over when you talk about gross revenue. Sheesh, you even act as if $20 million in gross revenue is a lot of money, LOL.

Hell, I guess GM Ford and Chrysler must be making money hand over fist. Hell, they take in billions in gross revenue every month. Every single unit they sell retails for a price in excess of 5 figures!

Any6way, just for kicks and giggles, tell us what will satisfy you. Should the auditors have a fourth party firm come in an confirm the audit? Admit it, you don't want anyone to make dime one on the sale of cannabis. You really don't give a damn about anything else, including whether the patients get their supply or not.

Yes, as you said with no basis in fact whatever. Again, no regard for the truth. The more accurate statement is 'no one that Blue Dot disapproves of is trustworthy'. It's all about your blind bias.

that's what is supposed to happen in a non profit. it's for the mutual benefit of all. should they have donated any extra to you?

if you ever decide to get of your ass and plant some herb you will be smoking for free. till then enjoy the moldy over priced dispensary weed officer. that's what communists get to smoke. they don't smoke designer name brand medicine. they get generic or bootleg from pakistan.

As stupid as you appear...by listening to the Media as to how much and what is happening!!
Do you really believe that they are Reporting accurately??
72 Employees seems like a large operation, with lots of overhead..those numbers are not excessive--

You're right, that is exactly what is SUPPOSED to happen but no one in their right mind would believe an idiotic claim that millons are being spent on yoga for it's members.

In other words, the "trustworthy" third party auditor is lying because they are getting a kickback from richard lee.

Follow the money people.

Here again you demonstrate that you have no regard for the truth, as you have spun this nonsense claiming that I made such an argument from whole cloth. Perhaps in your addled lmind you thought that was what I said. It's only because I believe you have some kind of mental impairment that I don't call you out as a bald faced liar for trying to claim that I said that.

I stated that the dispensaries in Oakland are audited by a third party auditor. That is a statement of fact. It was a response to your demand that the clubs be audited to prove that they're in compliance. I pointed it out so that you'd embarrass yourself, and demonstrate your hypocrisy which you have done in spades. Because once the auditors are in place you would just argue that they can't be trusted, no need for any kind of factual evidence.

Just for the record it's easy as pie to run a non-profit in compliance with the rules, have trustworthy auditors verify that you're in compliance, and still rake in profits hand over fist. For instance, someone concerned with the dispensary might also own, oh I don't know...maybe a for profit yoga studio? Another person affiliated with a dispensary might buy its medicine from an affiliated concern. Mr. Lee can own the building, and rent it to the dispensary. He might also have a for profit coffee shop nearby. just all manner of ancillary ways to get around the bullshit facade you demand be erected, which only slows the flow of medicine to patients.

The reality is that a distribution system needs to be built, and it ain't going to happen unless people are getting paid to make it happen. WAMM sure hasn't put much of a dent in the needs of patients, I wonder why? Could it be ---- lack of resources??? Maybe if they weren't such uptight snobs they could do a better job, and not have to beg for friggin' donations to avoid foreclosure. But you've never bothered to answer the question I've posed several times. This time I'll be a little more specific, and you'll take the challenge. Here goes: How the hell will WAMM be helped in their mission if Richard Lee decides to take his ball and go home? Conversely, how does Richard Lee's business existence negatively impact WAMM?

you'd have to be stupid to buy such meds. are you advocating price controls on the cannabis market to protect stupid people?

You'd have to be stupid to believe that Blue Dot has a clue what goes on in a real business.

Hey BD, if they're so greedy, why not set the price at $2000 an ounce? Hell, it's a lot more profit that way. Why not $5000? Sheesh, just tell me why not $600? You keep insisting that supply and demand aren't in play. Anyway, I'm going to go bag up an ounce of fan leaves and put a $10,000 price tag on it. According to you I should be able to sell it, no?
