Great meaningful Posts, thank you everyone!

Great meaningful Posts, thank you everyone!

quote of Makaguchi's from the T. Makaguchi website:

"But when I encountered the Lotus Sutra, I was astonished to discover that it in no way contradicted the scientific and philosophical principles which form the basis for our daily lives, and that it differed fundamentally from all religious and moral practices which I had studied to date. And just as I found myself moved by this discovery, I experienced a number of inexplicable phenomena in mydaily life, which accorded precisely with the teachings of the Lotus Sutra.

When I eventually made the firm determination to adopt this faith, I was able to affirm, in the actualities of daily life, the truth of the words of Nichiren
Daishonin: "When the skies are clear, the ground is illuminated. Similarly, when
one knows the Lotus Sutra, one understands the meaning of all worldly affairs."

And with a joy that is beyond the power of words to express, I completely
renewed the basis of the life I had led for almost 60 years. The sense of
unease, of groping my way in the dark, was entirely dissipated; my lifelong
tendency to withdraw into thought disappeared; my sense of purpose in life
steadily expanded in scope and ambition, and I was freed from all fears; I
became possessed with the irresistible and bold desire to effect the reform of
national education with as much haste as was humanly possible. [1935]2"

You should realize that it is because of a profound karmic relationship from the
past that you can teach others even a sentence or phrase of the Lotus Sutra.

The Gohonzon is the concrete manifestation of the very existence of Nichiren
Daishonin, who taught kosen-rufu. Because of that, if you only practice gongyo
and chant daimoku and don't take any other action for the sake of kosen-rufu or
improving your own life, the Gohonzon will not have its true, full effect. If,
however, you take actions to achieve kosen-rufu, they will serve as that extra
push for your own life and help you leap to higher and higher states of mind in
you gongyo and chanting.

"Many people are concerned about the fact that neighbourhood and community ties have weakened in recent years. In his treatise 'On Establishing the Correct Teaching for the Peace of the Land,' the Daishonin writes: 'If you care anything about your personal security, you should first of all pray for order and tranquillity throughout the four quarters of the land, should you not?' (WND-1, 24). 'The four quarters of the land' refers to the area in the four compass directions; it includes our local community and extends to include the entire world. Accordingly, 'order and tranquillity throughout the four quarters of the land' means a safe and secure environment in our community and, on a larger scale, world peace.

"When we value our relations with our neighbours and pray for their health and happiness, we set the stage for genuine communication that allows us to open our hearts to one another. When we offer deep prayer for the prosperity and welfare of our community, it will lead to our own happiness--or to use the Daishonin's words, our own 'personal security'--returning to us as benefit in our own life. This is an unerring principle."

There is a new Father Growers thread I posted this on:

http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=143762

I want to share a bit of an update.

Hey Gents,

My 7yo son has been diagnosed with Aspergers' Syndrome. It's on the autism spectrum. For the 1st 5 years of his life he threw up almost daily. Children on the spectrum have numerous gut issues and allergies. Doctor after doctor, diet after diet, he threw up.

I read an article about a mom who had given her autistic son cannabis and the turn around was amazing. Following her lead we decided to try canna-tincture. We give him 2 drops every morning.

I can't rememberr the last time he threw up. It has not been since we have been administering the tincture. He would avoid food and who wouldn't if you threw up all the time.

He is now a munching pumpkin man. My wife who would prepare elaborate foods for him for years hoping it would work was severely depressed. She would spoon feed him the healthy organic foods made with love and he would throw up. It was maddness. Nothing can be more heartwrenching than to have a sick child other to lose them to the Grim Reaper.

Needless to say, my wife is estatic as am I. We are so greatful.

Another thing, behaviorially our son has improved markedly. He would have the most intense melt downs. Once I had to grab him and pull him out of a resturant. Outbursts were common. WERE.

Now he is at the top of his class in reading and math. And, making friends. That had been a challenge due to the social akwardness that Aspergers' brings. Today he has a gang of pals that hang out and play together.

His teacher says he is a joy in the class and is exceptionally bright. Before the tincture he was labeled as a "special needs problem child". No more.

Just writing this bring the tears. I am looking into contacting other parents that have had these challenges and found relief in our sweet plant. Autism is on the rise big time. It was 1 in 150 up to 2005. Today autism is showing up in 1 in 90.

The time is right to bring awareness of the value of this wonderful medicine for autism to the world.

Sorry to have ranted here. I'm sorry if I hijacked the thread. I just wanted to share our struggle and our great victory.

cheers,

I'm battling the FLU and feeling sooooo awesome after reading some great posts especially Wilson and Pumpkinman's awesome experience! I'm proud to know our faith is really so powerful in all the Bodhisattva's that apply their faith to their life. Especially Pumpkinman's story hits home because he is a little dude and deserves the extra-care and attention his awesome parents have given him.

On Monday, I gave a great speech to the Legal Students at my former school and told them my story about being a high school drop-out because I wanted to work, to now becoming a very capable legal professional working towards becoming an attorney for Kosen-rufu. I was a bit nervous during the speech because of the onset of the flu was going on internally, but after the speech.... I spent over an hour doing an amazing Question and Answer session with over 20 pupils (most over 50 and a few under 30) which congratulated me and also sought my advice in their continuing education. Even former professors were there and they all shook my hands and congratulated me on utilizing my time appropriately as I worked full time and still graduated Magna Cum Laude while improving my salary with each subsequent job dramatically. I let everyone know I was an outcast in my family, and between us growers i know I was even an outcast on the net, but through my faith and determination I know nothing is impossible and my story is chronicled on this thread as well.

Us Chanting Growers are remarkable people, that is why I always wish to remain here in spirit growing and advancing in our Buddhist Practice. I hope PTD can share some of his Gosho study material here, time permitting of course because I'm sure it will be great when the time comes.

Best regards to all!

Wilson's story reminds me of how I cured my German Shepherd's car sickness permanently using the homeopathic Calcanus I made into a liquid form and I prayed ahd shook it thousands of times before I gave it to my dog. I told him this medicine would make him ok in the car but he didnt believe at first. The stuff worked and we used it until he no longer needed it.

With your son there are ways to restore balance and cannabis may be a true helper as I believe it to be the most miraculous of all herbals. There seem to be so many things it helps that when I hear a miracle my weed has produced, and I do, it makes me cry.

A local woman told me that my Lifesaver brightened her husbands vision for some time before he went totally blind. It didnt cure him but the diabetes had ruined the circulation in his eyes and the week had temporarily had the effect to increase circulation as it does all over the body. My Dr. actually recommends that I use pot but does caution me that people with liver problems should watch their total intake.

The funny thing is that pot works even in very low dosages. Often we are able to use the effect to mask symptoms and forget them. The forgetting is one of the miracles because we cant stop thinking of what bothers us causing more stress. So many miracles and this medicine is harmless. It even helps me have a miracle every morning!

We all need a miracle every morning actually and it looks like Mr. Wilson is going to have his gift. A healthy fine son. That's what we all wish for you and your family so let us chant in thanks for the goodness in us all.

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo said once is fine but say it again... BOG

There is such far reaching depth insight and wisdom in a life tuned to the mighty rhythm of the universe, the mystic law Nam myoho renge kyo.

Joy comes for me from overcoming obstacle after obstacle and knowing we are never alone. We can reach into eachothers diamoku like a jet stream of life force.

Our little space suits, our bodies, are permeable to all that surrounds and is in us.

Every thought word and deed create ripples in the fabric of space and time. It takes brilliant wisdom and relentless determination to the point there isn't any, what's left is a comforting confidance that invoking the mystic law is the hammer shaping hot steel in the anvil of karma. We can change anything.

"Iron heated in the flames and pounded becomes a fine sword." Here I think the Daishonin instructs us to commit fully to all we engage and hone ourselves.

More chant!
