well played gogo. unless the dragon pulls off something insane, shogun finally showed in the ufc and has it wrapped. nasty kicks, just nasty.

Sorry for anyone that had their money on Shogun. He fought really well. Never seen machido take a beating like that. Thanks again barney, for making this possible.

Seriously... that was the most RIDICULOUS DECISION EVER. To me I thought Shogun easily won that fight.... cause I know for a fact that Shogun won three rounds, and that's being modest. I actually felt he won every round, but oh well. This has me thinking about boycotting or starting some kinda petition or something in protest of this embarrassment... those judges should never be allowed to judge another professional fight.

to all the people who said shogun was going to be overly aggresive... suck it :nanana:

agreed. rogan was very biased towards shogun. everytime there was an exchange where shogun would throw a kick, machida would throw 1 2's, only shoguns kicks got mentioned. regardless shogun won this fight.

after watching this fight, especially with those odds. do you still think betting against machida is laughable?

That decision was BS. Shogun won four rounds by my count. I was so impressed by Machida in his fight against Rashad that I thought he couldn't be beat but Shogun worked him pretty good. The judges should all be fired. I don't even want to see a rematch of that fight. I want to see Shogun versus Anderson silva. Shogun was robbed.

i know man. alot of people didnt see this shogun in the chuck liddell fight and it took me 3 or 4 times to rewatch that fight to truely get grasp on the fighter shogun was becoming. not to mention alot of people deemed chuck liddell over the hill. i just hate it when people were talking about shogun being this terrible match up and how machida was going to knock him out.

another thing that pissed me off was all these ufc fanboys disrespecting and not giving shogun the credit he deserved.

shogun LOST! :nanana:

unanimous decision :nanana:

and he will loose a rematch also :nanana:

Mauricio shogun

1stRound: Shogun attacks but Machida is able to avoid and get a muay-thai clinch and land a couple of knees to Rua’s body. Both fighters are remaining patient as Rua has a clinch up against the Octagon cage but Machida is able to hold Rua off as they separate. A left a high kick by Machida almost lands but as Rua shoots in for a takedown, he eats a knee as he holds onto Machida’s body. Neither fighter is rushing to push the action, picking their spots with no advantage to either side. Rua lands a hard leg kick but eats a body kick in exchange. Rua counters Machida with a right hook as the round closes.
2ndRound: Every Machida move has been countered by a Rua strike, nothing changes as the round starts with a quick Rua left straight. Machida pushes forward and lands a 1-2 left-right combination but Rua’s stays relaxed. Rua shoots in for another takedown but is unable to make anything happen with it. Machida scores a left body kick that is heard throughout the crowd but Rua lands a right body kick of his own and lands another. It’s a very close fight as the round moves on, you can see the damage on Machida’s body after Rua’s attacks. Rua has Machida up against the cage in a body clinch once again and lands a few knees to Machida’s thigh.
3rdRound: Rua starts with another body kick but a Machida straight right keeps Rua at bay. It’s clear that Rua is using his kicks to control Machida who has changed his stance to maybe protect some injured ribs. We’re seeing a Rua that we haven’t seen before, a patient one. The champion lands a body kick of his own but can’t follow up. Machida counters Rua with a right but doesn’t land it clean as the fight reaches its halfway point. The challenger scores with a leg kick and then both fighters exchange leg kicks. Another body kick by Shogun lands as he backs away to avoid danger. Rua lands an inside leg kick after pushing forward and backs up Machida. Machida pushes forward and lands multiple strikes with Rua up against the cage but Rua fights back and lands a couple of his own.
4thRound: 4thRound: The 4thRound is starting off slower than the previous three as the crowd starts a Machida chant. Machida attempts a left high kick but Rua blocks it, a Machida slip allows Rua to rush and attempt a double leg takedown but Machida is able to hold Rua off as they separate. Rua is doing a good job of covering up overtime Machida strikes, Rua lands another body kick and covers up to avoid any counter. Machida is starting to look a little tired and unable to move like he normally does. Rua looks fresh as he lands a knee to the body and a right hand with a leg kick to the body.
5thRound: The championship, 5thRound, starts slowly as both fighters are cautious of each other’s strengths. Rua lands another body and leg kick as Machida’s body continues to redden up. Machida attempts a body kick of his own but Rua pushes forward and lands a right hook as he backs away once again. It appears as though the champion is unable to solve the riddle of Shogun as he lands back-to-back knees, first to Rua’s body then head. Machida has Rua in a body clinch up against the cage as the referee separates the fighters. Machida lands a knee to Rua’s body but Rua lands a elbow as he moves away with the crowd now chanting for Shogun. Even with a win possibly at hand, Rua continues pushing forward as Machida is still struggling to find the solution to Rua’s riddle. With both fighters raising their arms as the final buzzer sounds.
Result: Lyoto Machida Defeated Mauricio Rua via Unanimous Decision (48-47, 48-47, 48-47)

damn man, if i knew you were quoting me i wouldnt of edited.

let me quote you

"Yeah cant count Shogun out, he is one tough mofo and he will still keep going forward even though he may be getting his ass whooped. Perfect match up for Machida though, he has excellent counter striking and likes to draw oponents in while he has weight on the back foot. Expect some head kicks. Watch closely, shogun will advance then machida will take a small step back to create a small space and the the head kick will fly. Also has excellent timming and will usually let head kicks fly while his oponent steps in. He may show some caution with shogun though
I would like to see these two stand up for the whole fight. Both can bang
Cant wait"

the fact that you called shogun a perfect match up for machida and even worse you couldnt give shogun credit for this fight shows you are an idiot that doesnt know shit about this sport. your not even a troll, your just stupid :nanana::nanana::nanana:

dont bother talking to me about anything mma, your not on my level:nanana::nanana::nanana:
