hey guys i have a dell pc and it opens up like into a v the side dont come off like all of yalls. i was wondering if i could still make it work. plus when i pulled all the guts out of it it left monster holes in it.

In my experience, most large name PC companies like Dell, HP, Compac, etc do not make the best cases for this kind of thing. They do alot more riveting and crimping, and have alot of extra crap in their cases, because for he most part, people who buy their computers will not be taking them apart to upgrade/customize. If you cant get ahold of a trash tower, look at newegg or tiger direct, you can get a better case for $30 easily, and probably less

cuz if I was able to produce that much dank bud and have 1 or 2 supercroped cloned alwase ready to go into the flower pc then I would have dank bud all year around. and I could grow anywhere.
but I do prefer to grow bigger plants.

I'm using an old case that in it's first life ran gas pumps with windows 3.0. But then I got it and gave it a new purpose. It's a generic case and the whole shell comes off, I made it so that it is held with two screws and removes easily, I painted the inside white, the shell as well, I am trying out old CD's as reflectors on the sides of the case, since they shine light back in a rainbow I thought they may give a broad color spectrum possibly adding what my lights mite lack. Any way The case is 16x16x8 I have a front intake fan at the bottom, and a rear top exhaust fan, both 80 MM The temp is in mid to low 80's using 2/26w/100w/2700k CFL's and 2/23w/100w/6500k CFL's andmy light height is adjustable. the fans are run on 600ma ac adapter ( They only draw about 325ma so the adapter doesn't get hot.)The two lights seem to plenty of light for my small case. As for the holes you have, you can use cardboard and duct tape, or foil tape inside to close it up, if it doesn't look good outside you could paint it. I had to do all three to seal the openings in the back of mine. I have no light leaks, and made light filtering vents for the fans. If you make it so it can open it easy and hopefully have as much room as I have and mine is small you should be able to make it work. Just dont get discouraged take your time and think carefully about it, and I bet you can make it work, if not you'll find another case that will.

heard those pads suck, because to stick to the activated carbon and get your money back onthe pads

You can get regular carbon at any pet store or wally-world..
For a great idea for scrubbers, check out sugar bears thread on micro carbon scrubbers...its helped me alot (it will be on a thread in the growrooms designs forum, there will be a whole list of threads so just look for micro carbon scrubbers)
Depending on the size of the exhaust, you need 2 net pots or two mesh pencil holder's one inch or so smaller than each other...
better yet, check out his thread!

Here is a DIY micro carbon filter I found else where. This was first posted by Pig Pen: Here's one for the Micro's.
This is based on an Atrium Grate from the hardware store, outdoor plumbing. They come in a range of sizes, 3", 4", 6", etc. The one pictured is 3". This is perfect for veg or dryer boxes, or PC-sized bloom boxes. For larger and/or stinkier applications you can easily "T"-together 2 or more using fittings from the HDWR store.
Takes only a few minutes and no real tools.
What you need:
- Atrium Grate
- single legging, the cheap ones that come in the "eggs" are perfect.
- zip tie, or two
- a few ounces (for the 3") activated carbon.
Total cost, ~ $10 (using a 3", they get more expensive as they get bigger.)
- scissors, fingernail clippers, snips or whatever to trim the zip-ties.
- a length of Duct or Foil (I prefer Foil tape) to mount it.
It's self explanatory but I'll walk you through it anyhow.
Arrange your things out in front of you, such as this....
Now stick the Grate down into the stocking, (or pull the stocking over the grate as such....
Apply zip-ties just under the flange, tighten them down as much as you can without breaking them.....
"Cut the fat" .....
Pull the stocking back over the grate (or pull the grate out of the stocking..).... be careful not to snag and start a run on the edges of the zip-ties you just trimmed. You may want to put a piece of tape over it/them. Or just be careful.
Pour some carbon in, work it around and even it out. Add more as needed and keep working until you have a good, even 1/2" or so layer. Tie the stocking off and again, trim da fat....
I should add that before you tie it off, you need to pull the stocking as tight as you can get it. This tension will allow it to keep it's shape for the most part, otherwise it will just sag downward. This is also why you need to use zip-ties or a hose clamp; if you use rubber bands or anything flexible it will come right off when you are giving it the "final tensioning".
From the inside....
Tape it up and yer done!
And if you aren't able to get mesh pots, you can use caps from a couple of liquid laundry soap bottles. And drill holes in it.

there is 161 watts of cfl..with 10600 lumens
temps never get above 77 which is nice..
i have a 151cfm Delta fan with speed control for exhaust and a 80mm exhaust just for hotter days..
1 -120mm fan blowing on the lights helps reduce heat too..
As you can see, I have a happy little lady popping out too!
its pretty cool how efficient it is with heat considering how hard it is to control heat in a pc
It took about 3 months to complete because I made many mistakes! All part of learning I guess

with small containers you could easily veg several to power a larger flowering room.
Just make sure to get a server tower with good room.

i am thinking about buying 80W cfl for vegging and 80W cfl for flowering
you think that will be enough ?
and 1 other thing i don't understand is how do you make the vent holes light proof?
