Oh on a side note, my grow shop put a stop sale on the entire advanced line of nutrients. I was talking with him and he told me the DEA has threatened washington state hydro shops that if they sell it there will be problems.

I'm not doubting that your source believes this to be true, but I have a hard time believing this is actually true, as it would be utterly reckless of the DEA to do this. I know the DEA is heavy handed, but at least they usually have the excuse that what they are doing is enforcing valid federal law.

But this? Intimidation and threats of sanctions against store owners? For simply carrying a legal product for sale to the general public? Green Merchant Redux?

Were the same threats made in connection with the Canna line?

You sure he didn't hear this from another fert company's salemen? AN's competitors have said this before you know. And after the debacle during this past summer's expositon in San Fran and the "Bud Banner" - that would fit, too.

As for Operation Green Merchant - Read about it here:

bud was just wonderin how exactly u clones those ak. just about to start a run and all your cuts look really healthy. plugs with domes. yes. cloning gel, heat mats, humidome on for how long. how often to water and with what, and most important how long till roots show. ive heard ak is an easy grower but im also new and can probably fuck up anything at this point so your knowledge is greatly appreciated. thanx

My aks are not the best at rooting, all the other root faster. Around 10-20 days depending. I dont use a heat mat but should. Just rapid rooters, olivias gel, domes, i fill the rapid rooter bag with tap water and squeeze it a few times to let them all soak it up then just into the dome I usually add water every 7 days or so.

My shop owner was told this from his freinds who own a shop in seattle and recieved the letters. Probably just haters from a competetor trying to impersonate the dea?

Alright, here's the deal with the DEA.

I have a friend in Seattle who found out more from the hydro growers in the area. First of all, the DEA guy was very friendly and not one of the owners that this owner knew felt or was threatened.

The DEA guy was trying to get the hydro store owners to rat on their customers. My friend said the DEA guy showed them an amateurish brochure with pics of plants (as though they don't already know what MJ looks like).

I also heard that it wasn't just Advanced Nutrients stuff that was singled out - General Hydroponics, Sunlight Supplies, and HydroFarm were all a part of the investigation too. And I also heard that Advanced Nutrients products were NOT pulled off the shelves.

And my friend was really happy about that since he's an avid user.

Just wanted to fill in some blanks. Gotta say, it's a weird situation. After all, don't DEA agents have something better to do?

Hi Guys,
Grow is coming along nicely. I'm currently trying out an E&F veg system before transplanting to 2 gallon Ebb and Grow diy. So I can keep the flower room busy. Worried that the rootball will fall all apart during transplant. Still thinking.

Hey, on the DEA thing. Maybe it's con men pretending to be DEA. Looking for growers to rip off. Wierder things have happened.

Cheers,
ET

That is just nuts. The DEA (or whoever it was) needs to find other things to do besides harass those who simply want to grow better, um, tomatoes.

Yeah, tomatoes.

avid/floramite are both translaminar, the go through the leaf so don't worry bout the undersides.... that's why they work so well.. floramite is an ovacide so it kills eggs; avid doesn't but here is what people i know who use avid do... they'll put 3 gals in a 5gal bucket and then use it as a dip for the plants (something like 6ml avid total); yours look small and if you can keep the hydroton in thats the way to go; it'll wash the eggs off and u don't have to worry about coverage... sounds like a lot of work eh... well my boy dips his cuts right before he puts them in his veg setup... never has mites... does it in rockwool cubes just cuz he likes to make his life even simpler

personally i don't like the neurotoxins in avid so i use floramite; make sure to add a wetting agent like dutchmaster's penetrator so it sticks around on the leaves a bit longer, but i'll spray my plants right before i flip to flower and i never get mites

this is indoors of course; outdoors they tend to pop up more frequently.... personally i don't use ANY insecticides on my plants when they are in flower... i'm not above grabbing an unwanted plant out of veg and turning it into a chemical bomb/trap in the middle of the garden for bug control if needed; i just don't smoke that one... spray and treat the shit out of it and hope anything feeding on the other plants makes the mistake of touching the poisoned one :)

When it comes to the borg there is no reason to play fair

I've also found that a strong foliar program, not even using neem, can really keep all bugs at bay... alternated between a kelp spray, humic spray, and micronutrient spray (ultimate foliar thread on here) and not only did the plants love it but i didn't need to spray neem/spinosad/etc.. and the plants were benefiting from the foliars as opposed to just preventing insects

Glad to see you back as well

3x6 with 26 plants, or 6-9 5g buckets under same 1000w light, which would hit more in your opinion?

I myself have only had one successful grow, and I ran a RDWC system with 25 buckets and 1800w. I need comparative results to SOG or TREE making, which is worth MORE based on effort to reward?
