Easiest way to make hash! Quick Wash ISO!

I know this is a weird question... But is there any residuals from the ISO?

I have been doing this a few times and sometimes the hash actually lights up and I have to blow it out...

Wasnt there some dude that used to make it all of the time back in OG and got some kind of lung sickness? Or am I trippin? lol

You may need to purge longer/ somehow more thoroughly. Seems like you have a little residue left. That would be the last of it burning off that your seeing so it's unlikely to hurt you in my opinion.

All oil I've ever smoked on a bowl can catch a flame. I know the stuff I make is purged 100% solid at 80F and hard candy like texture. Get carried away with the lighter and it'll flame up like pinetar or some crap lol.

ive always just thrown my trim away but after my most recent harvest i decided to try to make some iso... it was so easy! i didn't weigh the trim before i started cooking but i ended up with around 4.5g.

i used 91% iso... i read the whole thread and this seemed like the optimal alcohol to use...

the first run i shook for 25 seconds then strained through a coffee filter. the result was a hard shiny blob... the texture reminded me of a jolly rancher. it had a faint smell of bud
the second run i shook for 20 seconds then strained through a coffee filter. texture was a little bit more sticky but still very firm and had a bit more of a smell.
the last run i only shook for 17 seconds and then strained through a paint strainer bag (to get the bulk of the plant matter away from the alcohol and then strained that mixture through a coffee filter. i made several batches this way and just combined the alcohol as i finished shaking. this batch turned out much more gooey... after 4 days at room temperature it is still super sticky and refuses to hold form. it smells very strongly of weed.

from my reading it seems that hard firm hash is desireable and the sticky wet stuff means there is unwanted plant materials in there. so why did my shortest wash give me the stickiest, softest product?

i was really aiming for a light tan colored product but most of my stuff turned out very dark (looks like most pictures posted in this thread). i suspect that the heat may have caused the browning... does anybody have theories as to what determines the color?

all in all this was a great experience and i am so excited for my next harvest (which will have 9 different strains) because i want to collect the trim, mix it up, and make some iso with all of those strains blended together

The way I make it. 99.99% Iso or Ethanol. Usually iso. pour the iso into a cup, and cut the bottom off the iso bottle. Turn it upside down and put a coffee filter in the new funnel. pack it with weed. Pour the Iso through the funnel over a bowl. Start counting to 10 or 15 and when you start pouring. After 10 or 15 collect the rest of the run off iso in a seperate bowl.

Filter the first 10 sec ISO through a clean filter and evaporate at 85C. Scrape up the stuff and smoke it.

Keep the +10 second drips seperate and store in an empty iso bottle for when itmes are rough. Filter before Evap. They will be less potent but still light brown candy.

Discard weed. Only maybe do a 2nd wash at that same time, with minimal ISO. Otherwise throw that crap away.

Use whole leaves / clippings, DO NOT GRIND.

Thanks mexicanmafia for the info.
Who wants some bubble bags?
I'm hooked on qwiso. the best, easiest method. and 97% alcohol is 1,70$ here. off to buy more.
used to do long soaks, they suck, ok yield is much more but, no way as potent or tasty as this qwiso.
I only have a gas stove, so I let it just evaporate. takes like 24 hours. will get an electric pot for the future.
I use the once washed bud and trim to make butter. works fine.

so high from the qwiso now, planning tomorrow's lessons.
took about an hour to write this.
peace

hmmm well after a few more months of research and experiments i finally made my first batch and it was hard like candy, easy to work with, and smoked nice, and i found for those that have gas appliences may use a crockpot with water in it, place the dish above it. Happy smokin' all ^_^

Well iv made several batches now, question, do i need to let the hash sit a couple days before smoking? After i make it i get so tempted and end up smoking some. Yesterday right after making it i smoked a bowl of it and it was harsh real harsh, coughed a lung. I usually make sure the alcohol is completely evaporated before scraping.

The first batch i made turned out black, the one yesterday came out looking like honey and hard in texture. I will say i got so high i was buggin out. Funny thing is when i was scraping it looked like glass, made me feel like a meth head. Guess i just wanna be sure if i should let it sit a couple days before enjoying? :thanks:

hey twisted metal i usually let mine sit out for 1-2 days before smoking if there's anything left in the hash it will evaporate within 1-2 days for sure......some pics of the iso i made by learning here from mexicanmafia.......

and the last pic is some bubble hash and the 2 rolled pieces are the iso...rock hard and slightly brownish in the middle...

hey guys can u do this with trim that has the dreaded powder mildew? and you guys do this with all trim or what

Yes you can use buds with PM, also if your using trim be sure its good quality to ensure the cleanest end product. You really can use anything, the more plant matter with no trics is gonna result in a harsh and nasty tasting product.

Any experience doing this method with trim that is infected with bugs/mold? I read somewhere that you can use moldy trim for BHO and no mold is extracted, any ideas if it's safe with the ISO wash? I wanna give it a try tomorrow
