Thanks for your time on this

Thanks for your time on this

Read this as well as your original sog posts. Thanks for taking the time to share. You have inspired me to use the space that I have, and still have faith in a decent yield for my personal use.
Hope you are well:joint:

Doc, this is my second post. Just wanted stop and drop a line saying I think your doing some great work.

Regardless of what others may think Your knowledge and methods are still appreciated. Some people seem to be trying to point out problems rather then acknowledging successes.

Im starting my own SOG with CFL's and will be happy to report progress. you'v been a big help and a lot of encouragement.

Please stop by sometime and shoot some ideas my way http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=2633345#post2633345

Thanks doc, and peace to all you who submit quality thoughts.

It's obvious to me that people read DrBud's threads for different reasons. Good for you all!!.... hope you are all getting the knowledge or entertainment that you deserve. For some of you... your egos feel boosted by criticizing another for some just hanging here for the entertainment of the drama and for some to learn something new. Whatever your purpose is here take a look at yourself....... cause we all have. thanks to some for your kindness and :nanana: to those who have nothing better to do. lol

I feel like all problems anyone has with dr.bud could be solved by going back and editing his original posts to just say "theoretical" gpw everywhere. New growers can still learn everything we have to learn, and the experienced guys would have less to fuss about.

(Yields of up 2.... 4 grams per watt may be possible with the right strain and time to Dial it in)

"Theoreticial"....."May be Possible"
So...
Ummmm ya...:yeahthats
That was Post #17

Fuck yeh the old doctor. Anyone who criticizes you is just jealous. They wish they could get 2-4g per watt. Anybody doubting you should hear the story of how you got your lights, or how you get your power, or even why you are choosing to isolate yourself.. Pretty fucking incredible if you ask me. We're all just spoiled and can so easily make a trips to the store...Dr. BudGreengenes, YOU are the emphasis of self-sufficient.
Bless.

I say Bah!! to all the haters! I'm here to learn and so far, things are good only because I filter through all the haters posts! Thanks again Dr.Bud!!!!

I get 4.5 grams off the popcorn buds on the bottom of one plantlet, not including the main Cola.

All of the scientific data is pointing to the fact that you're a complete moron and need to quit spreading false information.

Maybe that's all we need? Who are you to judge something you have never even tried and have no experience with?

I bet that is not your per watt total, and more like a wet weight.

Not false, done it, tried it did not work as described. If you can do it great. You must be pulling in ten or twenty grand a month with hauls you state. Best case with a cfl grow is 1.5 grams dried per watt in a little over 120 days. That is real watts, not fake watts that everyone tries to say they have with a cfl bulb. A 43 watt cfl in no way will give you 43 grams dried in 90 days. Now thems the facts. If you try to say that your 43 watt cfl that is being sold as being the same as a 200 watt incandescent bulb is 200 watts you really need to look into things a little better. It is still 43 watts at the end of the day.

Like I said go for it if you like to play gardener. But I will stick with a 90 day turn over and know in advance what I will finish with each and every time.

you're just wrong dude. ...you say you've grown with CFL's but everything
else you say shows you haven't.

the truth is, you flower them early and short so they finish at around 14 to 20
inchs and they will weigh between 50 and 80 grams wet, and if they're 8 week
strains, they finish in 8 weeks, not 120 or 90 days.

oh, and anyone who has grown with CFL's for more than a couple months
already knows to count actual wattage and not equivalence's.

anyway, if you're a HPS grower, why come here with all your negativity?
why not leave all these CFL threads alone? ...you do your thing and we'll
do ours. ...stop trying to destroy our illusions man!

Yooo....
Mr.ElecEng....
He said..
"Bottom Buds from one plantlet"

When did he EVER mention it as a GPW?

So
how did u gather your data
for
start heights for each strain U tested?
Each one will be different...
and usually requires 3-4 grow w/each strain
to get this
"Dialed in"
:yeahthats anybody but me wonder where this PITA got 43 watt CFL's?:chin:

Like I said go for it if you like to play gardener. But I will stick with a 90 day turn over and know in advance what I will finish with each and every time.

well most of them r 9-10 week strains grown w/NO Veg time
so
thats...
63-70 days...even if ya Mono cropped it
:smoweed:

Hi Dr Bud, I'm interested in your wood gas. Did you build your own gasifier? I'm researching options to go off grid eventually and wood gas seems to be ideal. Cheap to build, low tech and can run in engines without modification. Methane sounds pretty simple too. By the way it's amazing what you can pull from cfls. You've turned me onto SOG.

There are a few out there in the 40-42 watt range that I know of but I don't know of any 43 or higher but then again, I haven't searched outside of high efficiency cfls so... I have a question for you Dr. Bud, how often do you replace your cfls? I have heard that cfls have light quality degradation and shift problems similar to the problems experienced by cheaply made leds over time. Have you seen any problems with this? I do have to say that the warning I got was from someone's anecdotal experience with cfls and not anything particularly scientific... Anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed the thread just wish there was less negativity within it. I am trying to plan my first grow and in my area it has to be stealth which is why I found your thread useful.

Peace, Zeno.

i was surprised on my last cfl grow that half of them started to fade. Even on my current grow with 2 x 150w (2x42w) one of them is noticeably dimmer at the north and south poles of the tube, and makes an overall difference; tis a crying shame they cost near 12 bucks each in the hardware store. And that's for the expensive good quality shiz.

im going to try a new brand next time i go CFL hunting - ive been using globe by globe electric company inc located in montreal, canada.

If you still have the packaging and receipt you could take it back. I would call the company and tell them that you are seeing significant degridation of their bulbs. They might provide you with a coupon or voucher or simply replace them. That is one thing that I will make sure I do is keep my receipt so that I can send any back that fade. Oh and I was just looking and they make cfls in much larger wattages but they are mostly security/flood lights and stuff like that. They aren't particularly cost efficient as far as power and initial price are concerned.
