I also think that you see Amsterdam better in the spring or early autumn... but also the cup is a great way to meet new people and see something new. I'd go the for the cup mostly, because I allready visited most of the stuff to visit and tried lots of strains in Amsterdam, but never been there during the cup..

OK Trichy and I have decided to go traditional and arrive during the 4/20 festivities of 2010... We like to plan ahead! To get the most bang for our bucks!

Mrs. Babba, so far my evil plans include having a Smoke with Yummybud booth!!! I will have the Yummybud secluded behind a silk curtain and for only 1 bud anyone can gain admittance to smoke with me, Trichy, and Yummybud !!!! [Imagine a Wizard of Oz type theme. ]

Nah, ya'll, I'm just kidding! just kidding!

But this does give me an idea on how to pay for the vacation! What do you think Trichy? Should we rent a bed and curtains and chain Yummy to the bed? Then we could just sell ole Yummy.... pimp him out to all the ladies at the 4/20 Cup!!

hey gal's ive got an album with loads of shots from my trip in may to the dam. i thought id share some tips and pics of shopping and partying and eating and all that if you dont mind.

but there is too many pics for just one post so ill have to split it up and make a post a day or something. ill make it like a virtual trip to the dam for ya


hmm where to start. lets start with partying :friends:

you will find these bicycle bars everywhere in the dam.

For partying and clubbing the place to go is Rembrandtsplein (plein means square/market). the rembrandtsplein square is a large open market area surrounded by bars cafes and clubs. they often have open art markets and stuff here in the daytime. at nite the place goes.. wooo party!

kalverstraat runs from dam square down to rembrandtsplein. ive been to ny and monaco and round n abouts.. best shopping anywhere is in amsterdam for sure. bring extra cash... whatever u think you will want to spend, doubble it! there is little open markets everywhere ... art, food, u name it, especially those 2!

I lived in the Dam for nearly 5 years and I've never seen a tulip, never been to a Museum
Been to plenty of Coffee Shops though

Alas...whiskey is a my IC hermit....lol. I dont venture out to the new posts area or others much.

On to the subject at hand. I KNOW the mre and possibly babyT are coming to the cup FOR SURE. I absolutely love the idea of group traveling! There will be at LEAST one other Area51er coming, so the group rates can be helped out.
I was stationed in hanau germany for a few years, and frequented the dam QUITE a lot...late 90's. The BEST EVER! Got the jack herers, kali mist, the REAL ak47...those where the days.
Oh, and I dont do the tourist nov shitty mag cup. I am going in april for the ICMag cup! Boyeeeeeeeeeeee

anyhoo...there are group rates that get WAY cheaper after 10. Duddnt matter to me. I know my family and Peats crew will be there, and would LOVE it if lola and trichy are planning for the apr gig. if so, let make a date! PLENTY o cool places to stay...and the best advice given in this thread yet, we WILL rent scooters and go out to windmill country!

This is probably my first and last European trip unless I meet Mr. Right, who will whisk me all over the world in his private jet.

I hope there's some French guys around. They find my Southern drawl and Jerry Lewis looks to be irresitible....

I'm gonna go around with a big US flag T shirt and make a spectacle of myself. They will surely cut out the tourist trade once I've been through Amsterdam, so gotta make this one count.

Is deportation back to US cheaper than round trip airfare? Could this be my plan? Get deported back to US at Holland's expense?
