Remember the legend that if you hung a plant upside down with the roots on all the thc resin will flow down into the plant? IMHO it was based on a sound practice but the reason became total bullshit.

I think the reason that was done is too give a plant more finishing time and also to flush the plant. The hang can be the flush. Plants are not like most animals. They don't instantly die when they are cut in half. They live and continue life processes until they run out of energy to continue. Even a plant cut off at the main stem will keep doing what it can for awhile. It might wilt but it will still use up nutrients in the leaves and stems until it just can't continue. If the roots are left on this can take a week or so if hung in a place where they get a bit of light and are protected from rain. They will use up the leaf nutrients and the trich will continue to mature.

Most growers can't hang and dry outside with the roots on because of security. Hanging outside is risky period. Plus many places even with great grow environments still get colder and wet in October and November so keeping them outside is counter productive when faced with mold. If you can it is a good way to flush outdoor plants.

You can also cut them off at the stem and stick them in a 5 gallon bucket of water and they will stay alive. It will surprise you. They will flush easily because all they get is water.

If you hang them inside cut at the stem and can draw the hang time out a solid 10 days they flush some.

I think a proper hang is a flush. I also think anything longer than a 7 day flush indoors with water sacrifices yield and potency for taste and I am never doing that.

I also never want a separate outdoor division. Outdoor weed properly grown should be the finest examples in the contest. I would also like to see only 3 categories in judging criteria. Bouquet, Potency and Taste. The reason being is that a pure sativa is going to look wispy and thin. But a nice Thai, Columbian or Original Haze can make you see god.

I guess this is not the case in full soil outdoors??

What i mean is in pots i get yellow leaves at the end , but in full soil outdoors in flowering recipe , they stay green and shiney.

thx 4 feedback interesting topic

Hi THC,

Yes, because in pots the roots can't search out more nutes!

Therefore, outdoors it's better to use fully organic food for the plants, and so you don't need to flush as there are no salts or chemicals!

Do any of you guys have any experience using Bat Guano?, picking up a tub of the Vintage Bat Guano tomorrow to use along with the Bio Bizz nutes,
it says on the website to just sprinkle a little on top of the compost them water it through, but doesn't say when in flower to do this and how often?:chin:

Hi Ojd,
cool man:yes:, been looking for a good flowering booster for a while and had the guano recommended,
i'll go real easy with the stuff:joint:, think i read Soma uses it as well, but not in pots, in plant beds,
i'll try it out on 1 clone, 1 clone without, then compare both after harvest time,

Hey where are u from , i mean what climate??

I am located in Pennsylvania, 40 N thc. NO THEY WON'T FIND ME! I get to the end of October most years but sometimes an early frost comes. But I have never had one before Oct 20th that was a killing frost in my locale. Oct 20th can finish a 10 week strain. 8 and 9 week strains easily finish. 8 weeks (64 days) the way I figure is Oct 4. Blockhead, Chemdog, white, pine tar kush, and Deep Chunk or Cheesy Chunk all finish around then. UK Cheese and MSS took until Oct 15 or so. Blue Sonja and Prophet finished around Oct 20th. A couple years ago I had a Willie's Haze out until Nov 10 and was just going to get it in a few days and it got ripped because it became easy to see.

The biggest battle is cold, damp October when mold can happen. But the mentioned strains all do good. I haven't had much luck with Bubba Kush. It vegges like crazy and starts to get nice but mold seems to love that plant and it is almost defenseless against it.

I had spectacular results with Prophet from Steel Savage, G13/SD from Head Seeds and Chemdog x Afghani from Hip Cat. Prophet took a bit longer but G13/SD is done by Oct 1 and Chem d x Afi was done Oct 4-7. You would never have guessed they were outdoor. Just like nobody at the 420 Cup even thought for a second #004 was outdoor.

For flowering make sure you get the guano high in P. Depending the part of the world the guano is gotten determines if it is higher in N or P. I'm not an expert but I believe bats that feed on fruits are higher in P.....

Hi every1, going to be putting my own entry in next time, always grow in coco also, I think a lot has to do with getting to know the plant your growing and what it can and cant take, some plants can take a higher feed than others, but to be on the safe side all plants will will do fine with an e.c of 1.2, thats what mine get all the way through flower and they all respond well to that strength of feed, as I say, some plants can take more but to be on the safe side I stick to an e.c of 1.2.

I used to try this and try that, guy in the grow shop says this is the new best thing out, what a load of shit man, had to go back to basics as my results started to suffer because of this which is a common mistake most people make, they just want what's best for their plant but giving them every new product that comes out is not the best thing for the plant, :noway: so they get as little nutes as possible which is canna A+B and some coco booster from bcuzz for grow, cannazyme and rhizotonic is another waste of cash, shit costs alsorts as well, get much better results using coco booster than what I did using the cannazyme and rhizotonic, and in flower they get canna A+B and topmax, some pk13-14 near the end and they get a 2 week flush which I find is sufficent as the e.c all the way through is flower is 1.2, 1.2 is safe, some plants can take more, others cant, stick to that untill you get to know the plant your growing.

hey jamie, you done well with the bongs m8, was well impressed, :joint: , ojd, got a few questions for you as well bro, will send you a message on the other site tomorrow as some point, not got enough posts to send you 1 here.

Everything I wrote above is what I do, not saying its right or wrong, its my method and its what I do, also seen a mention of washing clay pebbles, if your using perlite that should also be washed very well before mixing with any coco, coco bricks are pish quality, the coco bags from canna is the best quality of coco, I open the bag and im ready to go, :abduct:
