She ran away from home in Texas at 13 and was a burlesque star by 15 in Dallas and I used to walk by her strip club and look at her pictures out front as a young girl. She died in seclusion recently and Texas Monthly Magazine published notable women of Texas and Candy Barr/Juanita was listed right next to Lady Bird Johnson,,,,,te he
