yea give those little guys some suppport and pot that legginess away +more light, shop light anything to help if your going to keep indoors 4 storms.
i was thinking about your dirt transportation would recommend a wheelbarrow or hell take adavantage of those storms get canoe, kayak and float drag that soil now!anything opposed to humping that crap on your back!pack mule lol or horse .or when you get your cans seal the lids with duct ( put bags o dirt inside)tape and float+drag em out to your site .

. There's a new hazard that's appeared in Florida recently that should be very carefully considered: Pythons. There are many of them large enough to kill you. This is no joke. Be aware of them, and either have a partner, or Several knives or other hand weapons available.

The much larger threat than pythons in the swamp is cotton mouths (water moccassins) and copper heads. Last year i planted on a swamp island and almost stepped on a snake 2 different times in my garden (copperhead the first time and moccasin the second). copperheads (cool looking snake) are generally scared and haul ass when you see and the only bites are generally when people step on them but mocassins (big ass black snakes) are extremely agressive and will come after your ass. This is especially true in late summer around august when they might have babies in the area. Just remember to use extreme caution especialy in late summer. Bring a big ass stick to beat around and let them know your coming so you don't surprise them. You don't need to worry about gators and ive never heard of a python attack. moccassin bites are not uncommon they wont kill you but they will mess you up for life if not treated immediatly. rattlesnake bites can kill you.

Im hoping as long as the soil kinda wet it will be enough to hold them down. First year doing anything like this outside so if i pull one out of 20 ill be happy.

You cutting holes in the bottom of yours?

I would def cut holes in the bottom so they can wick up water and drain.

20bags out to the grow today! Had i not started "training" for this a month or so ago i would have never made it. 256 gallons of soil and still need another 20 bags probably.

Im stashing them here for now. Its only another 20 yards or so to the main plot. Just didnt want them laying out in the open. Not that we have copters around here but ya never know. The trail is closing in quick. I have to get some trash cans this week.

Finally said fck it and got some trashcans. Cost me a bit more but tired of waiting. Took the barcode off, other than that no numbers anywhere. Used work gloves when i picked them up at the place and the others once i got home. Cut holes in the bottom, blah blah blah.. Long ass day man

Tomorrow is soil mixing and setting them up. Should be able to set up 10 tomorrow.

Great work dude, I cant wait to see how this unfolds. How do you plan to deal with the gators?

Thanks Johnyhash, it may sound redneck but we are all kinda use to jumping on the 6foot and under ones. Bunch a beer and some nights we end up "gator jumpin" out in the river. :yoinks: haha

This is the edge of the swamp so im hoping, even though it fills up with water, it doesnt get too deep. Anyway, dog got bit by a moccasin last year going out to check one of the other ones after a big storm. Scared the shit out of me cause my 2 dogs are like are kids. Shes fine but I learned to be alot more careful of stuff that you know is there but you never see until its too late

keep it safe and watch were you step. looks like your well on your way to a monster season. that sizeed hole you must be plannin on the swamp water watering your plants huh? i probably missed you say it earlier. also i found some 10 gal trash barrels i might get and try something like what your doin. -bluebuds

So are you standing the trash cans up? Or are you digging somewhat of a hole to place them in? I would think if animals got curious enough because of the smell of new soil and fert's that they would come look and might knock one over.

Im just gonna set them on the top of the ground. It will all be water/mud soon. Only animals that might go back there are coons. Each trash can is gonna be about 100lbs when full.

Bluebuds- yeah im hoping i dont have to water too much.
