My answer would be anywhere you can find employment, the schooling you want, and a good place to live. Look around.

Chico is a college town.. Very hot weather. Lotsa Girls.... Lotsa Rednecks..... Pick-up trucks.... Not a terrible Budscene, for sure, but growing is not easy here either, and work is very hard to find, as in all of CA at this time.

I say SF is the best option, if one is hellbent on giving it a go. At least life will be diverse, and stimulating, as the money dwindles....

Oakland is a Crime-ridden, corrupt City. Completely Racial Black against White, haves vs havenots... Dudes on the street make the rules...

I am from a tough City, but I will not go there under any circumstances.... The Gunplay is bad news, and prevalent. The LEO's helpless. the odds stacked against a person. They system Broke. Penniless. Sad. And the economic downturn (not even fully manifested yet) will most likely make living there untenable.

Good luck whatever...

I would avoid this City.

You should check out the area around clear lake, then you would have an awesome source for clones just miles away.

One person's "Freaks" are someone else's Diversity.....

One person's "Freaks" are someone else's Diversity.....

Right Micro Pro, way to outlandishly represent what almost nobody would feel if they moved there... Very helpful.

IMHO, and I only speak for my own experiences... Oakland is for thugs, and those that love them... A tense enviornment. Odds are high to get robbed, or whatever... Detroit West. I am glad people live there. It's all good. But, it never will be me... Already did that...

SF is for the rich.. A tough nut to crack, with the economic downturn, making jobs more scarce... A beautiful well-kept City. A popular place for good reasons. At least one can go out at night in SF .... One person;s "Freaks" are someone else's Diversity..... No City is perfect. Well, Amsterdam is close... lol

DON"T BELIEVE THE HYPE....... NorCal Emerald Triangle County Leo's are ENFORCING A 6 PLANT LIMIT. 7 = Felony. Many busts of Medical Growers lately. Some not growing many plants...

I hear that is very true. The Clear Lake area looks better to me all the time, and I'm coming in late summer or fall. Although I'm still leaning toward Sacramento. This new group, California Cannabis Inc. is gonna rock.

Damn freedom. Seems to be contagious. People seek it out even when they don't know what they are doing. So California gets the cannabis lovers, and Mississippi gets the tax dodgers. That's life. My 4 plants and me aren't going to hurt anyone in California, don't you worry Pirate. And if it helps any, one of my relatives in California died not too long ago, so I'm just replacing him. And he helped bring bluegrass music to California back in the day, so its not all bad.

Well I wasn't referring to one single person and you might say......"well, its just me and my four plants". But I am beginning to see these comments ALL OVER this board. Its not just one.

I've said it before............If someone wants to move for a new life, new job, schooling or ???.....then fine. Its a free country. But when someone wants to move here.......Just so they can grow pot......I say......stay away. They'd be moving for all the wrong reasons. This is why many counties are repealing their grow laws or limits. Abuse of the little leeway we made for "medical patients" could cause loss of it all. Look what happened in Humboldt area. To many out of towners that don't give a shit because it ain't their home came in and are ruining what was once a beautiful, historical city. It's a huge problem out here.

Its selfish to destroy our hard work on MMJ IMO.

I say this for any state. Not just mine.

I don't doubt you a bit, Pirate, and those are definitely words of wisdom. Just making my own case so I don't feel so guilty. You are right about the general theme, sorry for sidestepping that. For some kid or person that just wants to grow for profit or pleasure, you are absolutely right. There are other states where patients can grow for themselves without too much worry. I'd offer that California is the best based solely on the current laws and enforcement, and if you are a "real" patient with a chronic, degenerative, or terminal diseases I would hope California would welcome those refuges from states that want to lock them in cages. Unfortunately for California, you have the most lenient definition of what qualifies under your medical cannabis laws. The other states are much more precise in what they allow. You probably see 100 punks and have a normal reaction to them. Makes sense to me. We aren't arguing. You just have been there and done that, and are trying help. Thanks.

In Sonoma county there is a 30 plant limit and it is in between Lake County and SF/Oakland. Towns like Petaluma, Santa Rosa, and Rohnert Park.... not sure how big an area you are looking for, and I am unsure of the job market but I figured I would mention it as crime isn't as bad in these areas.

Seeking to avoid getting assraped by Bubba in state prison for merely pursuing your favorite hobby seems to me to be a completely reasonable reason for a move. I'm a resourceful guy; I can make it work without burdening up the welfare system. Promise. If you're really interested in defending the state, check the number one problem in the state; illegals. Your state isn't fu cked because would be small time growers are coming over in search of freedom, I promise.

What' is a "punk" to you? Healthy, young, and unestablished? I sense a little snobbery, and it's not fair. If the political landscape was as follows I could see your general point: small time growers/smokers get a little fine in most states, whereas California allows large grows. Then I would agree; you're being infiltrated by drug dealers looking for an easy buck, taking advantage of a situation. But that's not the reality. A man in my state got 3.5 years for 4 plants in his backyard recently. People are doing hard time for personal use in the vast majority of these United States. California is overrun by illegals taking jobs lower middle income Californians, taxes are incredibly high, you have outstanding tourism revenue, yet you're state is still a financial disaster. I would think these would be primary concerns for Californians. Not young hippies with 400 watt lamps.

Why not go to Botswana or South Africa? With 25k you could live well enough in the Cape Area.

More adventure bru!
