Apartment Growers

I grow in the 3rd and top floor of a 2 bedroom apt in a closet under a 400w hps. Never had to worry about smell on the top floor, if someone does come by I use Ozium just beforethey walk in about 2 sprays. WORKS LIKE A CHAMP! No odor, even SOUR D WAS NO MATCH! maybe if I had more than 10 ladies going at once it might be worse, but besides the occasional parent, my landlord never comes into my apartment, we even have issues with the tenents below, but they have never had proof of my endeavors upstairs. Plastic off the room, best thing you can do to keep the place clean, I have carpets, totally bummer.

unfortunately I have an upcoming inspection this week. I just started to flower my lui's and Sour jacks. I really can't hide 8 four foot plants, so I was forced to take cuttings and chop them down. The timing was alright because I was flowering for only 4 days, and I now have a chance to try out a sea of green. I took 4 cuttings from each plant. Man this sucks, it really hurts to be forced to chop them down but it is a hell of a lot better than going to prison.

Maine is definitely a great place for all types of ganja lovers to come and get some practice under their belt. We've got more problems with damn oxys up here so herb isn't as much of an issue, plus we do allow medical for people with wasting syndrome from AIDS, cancer related ailments, and seizures i believe. I've known people who are caregivers for others with medical, meaning they grow bud for them legally! Now all we need is to get co-ops and dispensaries started like CA.

I am lucky, I live in Cali and am legal. That doesn't mean I don't hide my room well though. I have a second hand lock on my bedroom door. My apt has an individual alarm and I live in a gated community. I am mostly worried about other people not the popo. I think I may board up my window, the one i use for exhaust.

the only fool proof way i can see is..dont JUST build in a closet or something..
if you lock any door in your apt, it raises suspicion and could have the cops called..
you have to build a box inside your space that you can put a lock on which is none of their business and they have no legal authority of whatever you have in your locked box..
maybe you "have a bunch of guns" in there or "old family heirlooms"..hell
even go as far as saying you have both of your parents cremation jars in there..
haha maybe im just huuuuugh but that seems like the best possible solution IMO

i did an apartment grow last semester under some CFLs..my room always reeked but the apartment always smelled of smoke..i finally let another friend borrow my grow box today..the cops have been by 3 times in the past week for noise complaints but random neighbors..two times the cops smelled smoke..one said to keep the windows open, and one asked to come in and look around...to say the least I cant wait to get out of this apartment and into a house in a few months...

Rules for apt gardening;

1. Never talk about fightClub
2. Never talk about fightClub
3. Excessive odor controll is mandatory
4. Don't show/tell your buddies....when you break up with gals/guys they can get nasty!! Only trust yourself.....maybe your wife if your alread screwed.....lol. jk....kind of. = /
6. Keep it smallish
5.Only blaze when your neighbors are gone.....don't get complacent.
6. Make sure your on a decent proxy, and have a firewall

Those are purley opinions...so feel free to disagree...lol. I personally only smoke outside and away from my pad due to my location.
be safe and never get complacent guys/gals. Keeping a healthy wall up is the best thing you can do for yourself. Lowpro is theway to go.

Bro, if you get popped they are going totry to say your are cultivating for distribution...period. That is just how it works even if you have a recomendation.

No state treats cultivation as a misde. Alot of cases get dropped but they always try to fuck you, bringing up alot of cazy crapola. I know afew guys that got popped all of em were charged with cultivation with the intent to distribute. Even though they were totally legit and kept thier shit straight legally.

Just lookin out for noobs and those who are unaware.
Just because you have the card doent mean that cops will respect it. They will push for rediculous charges in most cases.

I always replace all teh locks on all the rooms in my pads. I keep the old pones and reinstall them after I move.
If you have an apartment manager snooping around your already screwed, so it really doesn;t matter if you lock your stuff. The worst that could happen is you have a lock, they are like "whats in there that it needs a lock?" That is when you should basically tell tehm that its nothing against your contract and they have no buisness in you spot for anything other than maintenance.
It isnt always that simple but when your talking to any type of authority figure you gotta be very firm and decisive.

Well fortunately I never grow this much, I keep it very small, 10 flowering girls, maybe another 10-15 in clones in various stages. I agree though, a lot depends on how you harvest, if it is all at once then it is much harder to say, "I swear, this is ALL for me."

Thanks for the link, I'm surprised at myself for never looking over that shit for my state. Kansas is lame, 5 plants is a felony. Manufacture of a controlled substance (I don't know if that's growing weed, or just cooking meth) is punished by at least 138 months, thats more than 11 years!

Good advice about the door locks too, I might just do that.

I choose an apt that has the electric panel in the apt . You dont want any one to know when you blow a breaker and if the panel is in your apt it is easy to rewire if u have to but i look for an apt with an electric stove oven so i can plug into a 30 amp plug and run 6 1000s no prob . Just a tip from my experience. Peace

I'm pretty sure my neighbors can hear the 6" Vortex fan

I am legal but was wondering good ways of decreasing the wind-tunnel sound that comes from this fan..

After I add a carbon filter, how much quieter will my room be?

get two duct mufflers, one on each side of fan, and make a box for fan with sound proof insulation , I have a 6 inch fan on full blast and it cuts the noise by 92 %.

Or, you can wire a fan speed controller into the fan and turn it down a bit. 6" Vortex still exhausts lots of air at 50% I did that to mine and it took all of 5 minutes.
